33 CHAPTER THIRTY THREE TOLU IS ATTACKED

That night, as Tolu finished with the show and she stepped out of the TV station, two of the people working with the show host accompanied her; and reporters working with the newspaper department of Sir Boripe media group were waiting for her in front of the building.

They wanted to ask her some few questions and then take her picture for a special feature in their paper the following day, she was aware of this and she was ready to submit herself to their demands.

They were a team of three journalists, one was a photographer, the second was holding a tape recorder to record both the question of the third person and the answers of Tolu.

They formed an arc in front of her as they were asking questions, recording and taking pictures.

Across the road that stretched through the front of this great media house, a van was parked, and unknown to Tolu and the people surrounding her, a deadly assassin was at the back of the car pointing a deadly gun towards them and watching for opportunity to shoot Tolu.

The guy behind the steering of this fan apprehensively asked the one behind the gun, "Flow, what is taken you so long now? Shoot the rat quickly and let us get out of here, you know we can't stay long here because the police parade cars often criss cross this area"

Flow answered, "Chill man, you know I may not have opportunity to eat the target twice, so I must make sure I end her miserable life with one bullet"

The driver asked, "And that will cost you a year to do? blow up her head and let us get out of this place my friend" Flow replied, "I think you should mind your steering let me concentrate on my work.

The girl is surrounded by some people, and I don't want to injure the people around her, so chill and let me concentrate so that I can knock her troublesome life with a stone"

Just then the person interviewing Tolu shifted slightly to a side, When flow saw this he mumbled to himself, "Common move a bit more and let me get a clear shot, move, move, move move or I will pin you together with stone!"

It was as if the journalist heard him, she shifted to rest her weight on her right leg, and that gives Flow a tiny space to see Tolu's chest, though not clearly, but he can see the very area he needed; and that is the left side of her chest where her heart is.

Normally he prefers shooting his victim on the head, but when he can't see the head clearly he aims for the heart. Right now he cannot see Tolu's head clearly but he can see the left side of her chest, so he pulled his trigger and out flew the bullets towards Tolu blood pumping organ.

However, in a nano second that it will take for the bullet to hit and shatter Tolu's heart, the lady journalist shifted back on her left leg.

As she moved, the bullet caught her on right arm because she was backing the assassin, and the bullet moved through her arm and lodged in Tolu's chest.

The impact of the bullet knocked the journalist against Tolu and Tolu too was knocked down. Flow saw what happened, he half hoped that the bullet will do the deed, but he was not one hundred percent sure of it

At that very instant, the people around Tolu scattered at first, they were shouting Tolu is shot, Tolu is shot.

Hearing this, her own personal body guards who were licences gun holders drew their guns and began to shoot at the van, because they knew the bullet came from there.

With this, Flow could not get the second shot because his driver drove out recklessly in panicked. Tolu's bodyguard pursued them on feet shooting at them.

Just then, by divine providence, a police van came into the street, when the police patrol heard what happened, they chased after the assassin.

Meanwhile, the people in the media house all rushed out and rushed both Tolu and the journalist to the government teaching hospital. Because the impact of the bullet on Tolu's chest was still heavy despite the fact that the bullet first tore through that journalist arm, Tolu fainted and people thought she was dead.

However, after about one hour after they got to the hospital, the Doctor came out to inform them that Tolu is alive, though no one is allowed to see her.

The show host was in the hospital all night, Sir Boripe and the kid wonder lawyer too came to the hospital. When they all saw that Tolu was okay, they were so happy.

Sir Boripe called the police headquarters and the police gave them officers to give Tolu all clock round protection.

When the news of this attempted assassination hits the airwave the following day, the whole nation came to a conclusion, that Tolu was about to reveal a great secret which some people do not want her to release, and the whole nation began to demand a national protection for her when they heard that she did not die.

However, the assassin and his driver who were pursued by the police did not escape alive when the police caught up with them.

They resisted arrest and engaged the police in fierce gun battle that saw two officers wounded, but the assassin and his driver were shot dead according to the police PRO.
