4 CHAPTER FOUR THIS WEDDING MUST STOP

Father Roland's parish cathedral unlike the hill top cathedral of the Saints is at his own city entrance. This cathedral also was an architectural wonder, it was built in a dome like manner and it is called Sunlight Cathedral. No one need to screen too far to see the reason it is called Cathedral of the sunlight, it was covered with a special transparent roof that make it possible for all that sits inside to see the sky directly.

Seeing the sky was not the wonder about this cathedral, the wonder is the roof's ability to make people look at the sun in its glory in the noon day without their eyes been hurt. And when night comes, you can look at the star studded night as if you are in a dream land. So many people like coming to this cathedral without been a member of the Church, just to sit in it and behold the beauty of the stellar heaven.

This is where the wedding he invited his mentor to supervise will take place, and today is the wedding day. With all things set the groom and his best man were conducted to the front with a very solemn wedding hymn from the Cathedral choir. Once he stood before the two Reverend Fathers, the wedding programme began, they read some portion of the Bible and some portion of the wedding rules meant for him and the general audience .

When they finished with these it was time for the bridal train to walk the red carpet, the well dressed exotic ladies of different size and shapes that formed the bridal train and the little children accompanying them walked in. Behind them the bride and her father followed.

As the train got to the front they formed a kind of hallowed arc behind the groom, and the bride and her father walked through the arc to stand beside the groom.

Just then the unimaginable happened because the Senior Reverend Father suddenly shouted, "No this can't be!" With his shout the bride who has been looking at the ground for shyness looked up and the groom who has had his eyes set on his bride. The whole people in the Cathedral also in alarm looked up!

The junior Reverend with questioning glance looked at him but before he could asked the question forming in his mind the Reverend added, "This wedding must stop!"

Hearing this, the whole guest in the Cathedral stood up in alarm and in annoyance, wondering how a strange Reverend from unknown place can come to their land to stop a wedding that they have long been waiting for. But in all these, the bride and the groom were calmed as the bottom part of an ocean that is experiencing tumultuous storm!

The mayor too was stunned by this Reverend Father's declaration that the wedding must stop. As the highest political figure and authority in the city he rose up and hastily approached the strange Reverend, asking him to explain his reason for causing unwarranted commotion in this people's wedding ceremony?

Instead of the Reverend answering the mayor, he turned to Father Roland and said, "When you came to me and i told you of a lady who gave a man a paralytic blow by not showing up on the wedding day, what did you called the lady? Father Roland answered, " I said she must be a devil!" But what has that got to do with this couple sir?

The Reverend pointed to the bride and say, "This Tolu here is that devil that refused to show up on that wedding day. Hearing that Father Roland said, "There must be mistake sir, you know people always talked about double body, which means two people totally resembling each other. The Reverend said this is not double body issue, this is Tolu, i know her very well because she came with that young man to my office several times for interview about their wedding.

Father Roland said, " Sir i told you there is a mistake because this person is not Tolu, her name is Funmibi. Just then the bride spoke up and said, "Father, he is right and there is no miss up, am Tolu in his city and am Funmibi here!

In great shock the whole audience in the Cathedral shouted, " whaaaat!!"

With great disappointment the mayor said, what is this Funmibi, how can you do this? You that the whole city sees as a role model for all our upcoming girls, oh you greatly shamed and disappoint us ! You are not worthy to be seen with our prince who want to marry you.

At that moment, the groom said, "Please don't blame my sweet heart am to be blamed. Father Roland said by that are you saying you are aware she double dated and you still want to marry her?

The groom said, " Because you don't understand what led to that event you may call it double dating, but to me it is a payback. The Reverend said "If you call what you people did to Richie payback then you are both wicked and this wedding won't hold" Are you aware that the young man is now totally paralysed because of your insensitive wickedness, how about somebody doing that to you?

The Mayor looked at them and said, "Ayo i know you very well i know you can't be part of such terrible thing without just cause, tell us what really happened. The Reverend did not allowed him to say anything, he said, " There is no cause that can be just enough for what they did, if they know such cause exist they should follow me to my city and explain before the wounded guy"

What about the wedding, should we finish it first and they will later come to your city to explain themselves. The Reverend said, "No it can't be done that way, this wedding must stop" The Mayor wanted to say something but Ayo did not allowed him as he said, "Please sir let it be according to his word" When he said this there was great commotion all across the Cathedral. Ayo moved to the front and apologised to the mammoth crowd that they disappointed them.
