5 CHAPTER FIVE UPROAR IN THE HILL TOP CATHEDRAL OF THE SAINTS

As the Reverend was returning home in annoyance, knowing the concern of their Mayor about Richie's situation he went straight to his office to tell him what he encountered in the other city and how he forced the wedding to stop.

The Mayor was so glad to hear that the wedding was put on hold and that he compelled Tolu to come back here and explain herself. While they were discussing this they were not conscious of the Mayor's staffs that were around, so one of the staffs heard their discussion and the date fixed for the return of Tolu to the city and that she would come face to face with paralysed Richie in the Cathedral.

When this staff got home she told her husband what she overheard the Mayor and the Reverend Father discussing. As she told the tales to her husband she did not know that her daughter was at that moment eavesdropping ,. So the following day at school the daughter who was seeking for any means to gain relevance make that a point of discussion all over the school play ground. So writhing twenty four hours after this the news was all over the town that Tolu who knocked Richie into paralysed state has been found in one far away city, and that she is coming to the hill top Cathedral in a fortnight to explain why she refused to show up for the wedding.

This news created great ripples throughout the city and many made up their mind to be there on that day. Those who love Richie wanted to be there to see the girl they dubbed evil for her wicked act that condemned Richie to the wheel chair as invalid.

The other people wanted to be there to see a girl that is strong enough to deal with this guy who has wounded many ladies in the past. The other people just wanted to be there to entertain themselves, and with everyone making up there minds to be there it means there will be crowd crises on that day.

And that was exactly what happened on the day. The whole hill top was filled with crowd. The Cathedral was filled with who is who in the city, the women who gained entrance into the Cathedral were mostly eminently rich women; apart from them and the rich eminent men and politicians who were all there to fight for Richie's right, the rest who could found seat in the Cathedral were strong young men with rippling muscles who could muscled their way into the place.

When the Mayor was coming with his entourage, he came with Richie. The police had herculean task clearing the road for them, because once the people noticed that Richie was with the mayor they began to justle to see him. Since the day he was knocked down he has not been seen in the public.

The people who fought most to get closer to the Mayor's convoy were the pressmen, they wanted to take his picture or video him. So it was with great struggle and shuffling that the city police men wheeled Richie to the front of the church.

Once inside, all the people outside crowded around the window just to see what will transpire inside and the inside became too stuffy for those inside that they began to sweat profusely.

It was like Tolu has been waiting for all of them to be set before she would show up, but the manner with wish she showed shocked the mammoth crowd! She came as if she is there to celebrate her victory over Richie, and this caused no small stir!

Tolu came with a convoy in the luxurious armoured car of the richest man in the whole country who lives in this city. Ayo was with her too, they came prepared believing that the angry supporters of Richie may want to attack her. So before she will set her foot on the ground, twelve elite male guards and four lion like looking female guards that worked for this wealthy man stepped out.

Their duty is to ward off any who may want to lay hand on Tolu as she move inside. So they formed a square wall around him and Tolu as they strolled inside, three men formed the outer wall on every side while the female guards stood around Tolu inside the wall. We do not know why, but Ayo did not step down from the vehicle, but he was glued to a security screen in the vehicle, watching everything that may or may not happen around them.

When the Mayor saw them coming in he was shocked because he did not expect Tolu to come in the company of this great influential business mogul of the country! However, he thanked God that he has chosen a route that will give him upper hand in dealing with Tolu and neutralised the influence of this great man who accompany her.

When Tolu's group reached where the Reverend Father, the Mayor and Richie sat, the billionaire whose name is Sir Boripe honoured the Mayor and shook his hand in warm greeting because they were close to each other in the issues that concerns the welfare of this great city.

The Mayor did not pretend about the matter at hand, he said to sir Boripe, "I did not know you are related to this trouble brewer sir Boripe?" Sir Boripe answered and said, "Well they are my people and i will not want you to judge them before you hear them" The Mayor said, "I do not have anything with those you referred to as them, this is the person that did evil in my city and she will not go scot free, i will make her a good example to all others who may want to toy with the emotions of harmless citizens of this city in the future."

Sir Boripe asked the Mayor, " How do you plan to deal with her then, i hope you wont take this case personal and take laws into your own hand?" The mayor answered, "Sir he who lives in a glass house don't throw stones, so the law that you mentioned is my option" With that he turned to a man standing close by and instruct him to do his duty.

The man was from the city court, he stood up with a court summon and arrest warrant in his hand to deliver To Tolu.
