11 The Potter Money is Still Here

Harry fell to the floor as the pain hit him. Emma ran beside him and propped him up.

"Teleport out...Teleport out.", Emma yelled, but Harry shook his head and pointed his shaking hand at Ripjaw, "Read his mind"

"Are you insane, we can't do this now. Look at you..."

"Just do it!", Harry snapped.

Emma froze, as a heavy, suffocating aura filled the room. Even the advancing goblins stopped, their fear and instinct taking over their rationality.

Harry took a deep breath, "Look for why they attacked us, what motivated them to breach the treaty."

She mechanically nodded and closed her eyes.

"And keep your eyes closed."

Harry glared at the goblins spilling in, and with a wave of his hand, closed the door behind. His eyes started to morph, changing into a serpentine yellow.

"Freeze!"

And just like that, half the goblin turned into stone. Immediately, the clattering of steel vanished. Harry's eyes changed back to the usual green, but the remaining goblins were too busy to notice that.

"What"

"Dark Magic"

"No..."

"Attack! Don't look Attack."

Guttural yells screams of goblins began, which Harry could perfectly understand despite them being in Gobbledegook. Not paying mind to the revelation, Harry pointed his fingers at the goblins cast another spell.

"Stupify"

A bolt of red light erupted between his fingers and like branches of a tree, started to divide into thousands of bolts of red, and rained down on the goblins. One moment Harry's finger glowed red and the next moment, every goblin was fell down, unconscious.

Through this, Emma kept her eyes closed, too focused on extracting information out of Ripjaw's head.

Harry looked down at the stab wound and used his metamorphmagi ability to stretch the skin and cover the wound. That was enough to stop bleeding but the internal damage was still present. Goblin had stabbed at his kidney, enough to kill a normal human, but then again he was not a normal human. He could slowly transfigure his internals back into a proper state but he did not have the time.

Through their bond, Hedwig was yelling at him to retreat, to teleport out. She could feel his pain. But Harry reassured Hedwig, but to little effect.

'I will not telport out Hedwig.'

'Why'

'The anti-teleport wards, I don't who made them but they definitely are not wizard made. I couldn't just teleport through them, not now.'

'Don't lie, there is no way wards like them could stop you.'

'You are right, but the backlash of breaking through the wards will decimate ten blocks around Diagon Alley.'

Hedwig went quiet, and Harry pushed.

'Hedwig, you know how much that means to me. I have to do this.'

Hedwig's hesitated before saying, 'Stay Safe'

'You know me, Hedwig' and cut the connection.

The silence reigned in the room. Emma's eyes were still closed but beads of sweat flowed down her forehead. Goblins and Humans are different physiologically and it was proving a challenge for Emma to interpret what she was seeing in his Ripjaw's head.

Emma opened her eyes and saw the spectacle of incapacitated goblin forces and gulped. She turned to see Harry sprawled on the sofa, his blood dyeing his robes along with the golden sofa below him red.

"Any luck?" Harry asked, seemingly not bothered by the wound at all.

"Looks like your plan worked a little too well. Whatever the Goblins are hiding is precious enough for them to risk a war with Wizards."

"What is the item?"

"I...can't see. That information has protections unlike anything I have ever seen."

Harry thought for a while, "Leave it, those should be magical vows. Our goal is still the Potter gold. Look if he knows what happened to it, and where is the rest."

Emma nodded and closed her eyes. Harry activated hi mage sight and saw ice-like psionic energy flowing out of Emma's astral form and into Ripjaw's head.

Just then Ripjaw sputtered and woke up. Disoriented, he looked around but his warrior's instincts ingrained in him made him reach for his dagger.

"Oh no, you don't", Harry summoned the dagger into his hand and out of Ripjaw's reach. Growling he tried to get up, only to find himself floating. Ripjaw, seeing this, futilely flayed around his limbs.

"Shut up and answer me."

"Who are... you people"

"Ministry Investigators, now answer, where had Potter Fortune gone?"

"Die in gutter scum, I won't tell" Ripjaw spat.

'Most Gold is still in the bank Harry', Emma spoke in his mind, '800 million dollars is not a small amount. Even if the deal is struck, not all gold has been moved out yet.'

"You want Potter gold now that Harry Potter is a squib, isn't it. Oh, you Ministry dogs wag your tail for the gold. Let me tell you, Potter gold belongs to Albus Dumbledore and you dogs have no say in it."

Harry glared at Ripjaw, and with a silent wandless stupify, knocked him unconscious.

"Dis you find where is the Potter money stashed away?"

Emma shook her head, "No, the tunnels were too complex to memorize. But I know it is on the lowest floor, and somewhere near a dragon."

"A Dragon?"

"Yes, a plane-sized blind, white Dragon. Is that going to be a problem?"

"No, just from my understanding, Potter vault should not be so deep. Only the oldest families have that honor. Potters are relatively new family", Once he had tried to read Draco Malfoy's mind out of sheer spite and learned many useless things like these.

Harry just shook his head and did not dwell on it.

Just then, someone's started to pound on the door. Goblins must have realized something is wrong inside.

"What do we do now?", Emma asked, anxiousness clear on her face.

"Well, we just have to reach the lowest floor."

But she did not notice the marble floor bubbling like water under her feet.

"Try not to scream."

The floor parted to open a transfigured tunnel right under Emma and she fell right through.

"What...Ahhhhhhh"

The pounding on the door intensified. Harry jumped in the hole and the floor closed right behind him.

A moment later, the goblin squad burst through the door, only to find no intruders there. Only petrified statues and unconscious goblins.
