15 Chapter 015: Rain

Yoshida-San was standing in front of the entrance of school. It was raining really hard outside and she forgot to take her umbrella to school.

"Guess I'm stuck here for awhile, I doubt anyone else is in the school…"

She continued to stare off into the rain until she started to hear footsteps from behind her. She turned around to see Sato-San walking around the corner and he was on his phone writing another novel as usual.

"Huh? Oh Yoshida-San, you're still here?"

"Yeah, I forgot my umbrella so I'm waiting here until the rain stops."

"That's going to be awhile, the forecast said it's going to rain until morning."

"Egh! Really?"

"I mean, they're not always right. It could stop at some point."

"Huh, I guess I'll just use my bag then."

She pulled her bag over head and started to run outside.

"Hey wait!"

"What?"

"Do you want to use my umbrella?"

"Huh?"

"I'm saying do you want to use my umbrella. Your bag won't help that much."

"I-I'll be fine, it's not like I'm that far away from home."

"Well, i'm sorry then."

He ran past her putting the umbrella in her hand while throwing his bag over his head and ran out of the school.

"Hey wait!"

He turned around, gave a smile and thumbs up before continuing to run to his house.

"What does he think he's doing…I thought he wanted to be hated…Guess there's not much I can do now, I'll return it to him tomorrow."

She opened the umbrella and swung it over her head. She walked out of the school and headed for her home while practicing her role in an upcoming short film.

Sato-San was running down the street while holding his bag over his head, he had just given his umbrella to Yoshida-San since she didn't have hers. He was getting wet all over since he couldn't cover his entire body.

'Why'd I decide to do that? I'm getting all wet now!'

He continued to run through the streets but stopped after seeing an injured kitten taking cover under the branches of a tree. It seemed to only be a few weeks old so he looked around to make sure no one he knew was around and walked over.

"Hey kitty, come over here…"

He began to reach closer until he was finally able to grab the kitten. He then began to carry it back to his house trying to make sure it didn't get too wet. When he reached his house he brought the kitten inside and brought it to his bathroom to try and help it.

"Whatcha up to?"

His sister leaned in and saw the kitten. She walked over and began to pet the kitten, her face lit up while she did so.

"Where'd you get her?"

"I found her injured while running home from the rain, I didn't have my umbrella so I got pretty wet. If you don't mind can I take the bath first?"

"O-Of course! That's fine!"

"…I just realized that's probably not a good idea."

"Huh, why?"

"You know why."

"Awww…"

"Blame yourself."

"Wait, why didn't you have your umbrella? I watched you put it in your bag."

"Egh! Umm, my friend forgot his so I gave it to him."

"Are you sure it was a him?"

"Y-Yes…"

"I always knew you were so kind! Willing to get wet for the sake of your friends not getting wet! That's very likable trait. I'm sure you'd never lie to me so I'll trust you on this one."

"T-Thanks..."

Sato-San finished up with taking care of the kitten and brought her to the living room where he got her some food and water.

"I guess we have a cat now."

He looked up to see his father who had just walked in. Sato-San looked at the time and realized it was now 10PM.

"Oh, hey dad. Yeah, I found her injured while running home from school. I thought we could think about what to do tomorrow."

"I guess that's fine, it's up to you and Kokoro so I don't want to interfere with anything. I'm barely around as it is so I don't think it's right for me to decide."

"Thanks dad. There's still a lot of other stuff we need to do also, we can do that tomorrow I guess."

"Well, I'll be going to bed. See you in the morning!"

He went up the stairs and walked into his bedroom.

Sato-San then began to follow and headed into his room. The kitten followed him up to his room and onto his bed.

"I guess it's fine if you sleep with me."

Sato-San then spent the night not sleeping and instead played with the new kitten until 3 in the morning.
