11 Chapter 011: Acting

Sato-San was in his class when his literature teacher, Takamaki-Sensei, suddenly she chose Sato-San to act out the scene in a play that they reading in class. He would play the commoner chef while the other person who was chosen to be the princess was of course the famous actress, Yoshida Takara.

"Why'd she choose Sato-San? He's always so cruel and gloomy."

"I know right? He's probably a terrible actor."

The class began to talk to each other and questioned why Sato-San was chosen to act. During this time Sato-San was of course trying to decide on what persona to use.

'Should I just adapt to the commoner chef's persona? Should I refuse to act to stick with my false persona? Or should I just be my true persona, I think I could I hide it by saying I'm acting for now….Well, I guess I'll just go with the flow.'

Sato-San and Yoshida-San stood up and waited in the front of the class. Mrs.Takamaki began to then explain what they should be aiming for.

"Try and make it passionate, make us feel like your truly these characters and experiencing what they are feeling right now. Try and make this as believable as possible, we'll start with act 3 scene 3. Okay…Start!"

Sato-San's character was the first to speak in this act. He put his all in the acting and truly became the character.

"Oh, Princess! Don't you understand my feelings? My love is filled within these sweets and food, don't you at least feel a little bit of the way I feel?"

"I do, but I'm sorry. If my father was to discover that we've been seeing each other all this time, you would surely loose your life."

"I do not care! For this short amount of time is all I need to be happy! If it all ends here I'll be fine!"

"Don't you understand what it would do to me if you were lost?! I would surely never live the same!"

"Then let us run! If we disguise ourselves we could leave this kingdom and go far away!"

"I would love to do that but I have my role to protective people of our kingdom…I'm sorry but I must stay here."

"Then why don't we go tell the king that we love each other? If we do that we could very well be together!"

"My father can be cruel, I don't know what would happen if we were to do that."

"Then let us go and discover! That is the only way we can find out!"

"Very well, if it comes to the worst we will go and find a new path that will lead us to happiness!"

"Yes! Now let us be off, we must go inform the king of these feelings!"

That was the end of the scene and Sato-San instantly thought of one thing.

'This was so poorly written…I guess this is what is to be expected from something written almost 350 years ago.'

He then saw that the class was staring at the two of them. They then proceeded to clap to Sato-San and Yoshida-San. While walking to his seat he could here the class talking amidst each other.

"That was surprising, I never would have thought that Sato-San was that good at acting!"

"Yeah, even with such a shit story he made it seem really alive."

"He was near the talent of Yoshida-Sama! Maybe he should go into acting. Just have to get rid of his trash personality."

"Yeah I hear you! He should join the drama club, I think he could be the star of the stage!"

Sato-San began to feel a bit embarrassed and didn't think that his acting was that great so he thought that he didn't need this much praise. He also saw that Shiratori-San was turning red and trying to hide her face. He let out a small smile before sitting back down in his seat. After class was over it was lunch, he would be eating alone since his two friends had to do other things.

'We'll actually, I guess there's three now…Shiratori-San…I wonder if she considers me a friend or acquaintance…I mean considering how she was acting in class before I would assume she's a friend…But the way she was acting would be more like if she had a crush on me…Nah, I doubt that's the case.'

His three friends were doing something else, so he would be eating alone unfortunately. He was walking to the back of the school when he felt a hand touch his back in the hallway. He turned around to see Yoshida-San standing there.

"What do you want? I was sorta heading to lunch."

"I just wanted to say that your acting isn't as bad as I originally thought. I guess I only saw through your acting before because I already caught a glimpse of the real you."

"And? I thought we agreed to never talk to each other again."

"Geez, you really do like being alone don't you?"

"To a point, yes."

"Okay, I was originally coming here to ask if you wanted to join the drama club but I think I can already tell your going to say no."

"And correct you are! Congratulations, you got the grand prize of a big fat no!"

"Thought as much. Well, I'll be going now. Try and not let any of this slip to other people."

"Don't worry, I'm pretty much alone and mostly everyone already hates me."

"Yeah, if you ever change your mind you can come to the drama room."

"Never happening!"

He was laughing and waving while watching her walk away. He went back to walking to the back of the school to eat his lunch.

'I think that's the first time I was scouted for a club…Like I'd ever accept though.'

He eventually made it to the back of the school to only realize he forgot to put his lunch in his bag and went on not eating for the rest of the day.
