10 Chapter 010: What Was Meant To Be A Family Fun Day

It was Sunday and Sato-San's father's first day off of work in a long time so he decided to take his family out for a day of fun.

"Come on, it's my first day off in a long time! Why can't you come?"

"I'm almost finished with my novel, it's almost the deadline for this one. I was able to submit the second volume for "In This World Of Nightmares", but now I need to get to working on my main series that I'm known for, "My Third Eye Works For My Love Life Too." The deadline for this one is soon, so I need to get it finished. This is what I get for releasing two series right next to each other and wanting to keep release dates consistent."

"Couldn't you finish it tomorrow?"

"That would just build up a lot of pressure on me, I think you know how that feels."

"…Yeah, I do…But that's also why I want to relieve some pressure by spending times with my kids…"

He began making puppy dog eyes while slowly creeping closer to Sato-San. Finally he broke.

"Fine, but there'll be times I'm on my phone continuing to write. So just be aware of that and I'll come along."

"Yay! My first family fun day since 5 years ago!"

"We should probably get going then, where's Kokoro-Chan?"

"She's been downstairs getting stuff ready."

"Well then, let's be off."

The three of them left the house and headed to Shibuya. It took some time but they got there and began to put the plan they made while on the train into action.

"Let's go there first!"

Kokoro-Chan began to point at one the many shops in the district and they headed in. Sato-San already knew what his sister was planning since it was an all female clothing and cosmetics store.

"I'll wait outside."

Sato-San turned around and began to head out of the door when someone grabbed him from behind. His father was holding him tightly to where Sato-San couldn't move.

"Don't go…This was meant to be a family fun day! I can't have a family fun day if it's not with my whole family!"

"What about all of our other relatives?"

"…T-They don't count for a day like this!"

Sato-San sighed and finally began to walk with them throughout the store. He stayed on his phone the entire time and used it to continue writing his novel. Kokoro-Chan tried to get Sato-San's attention but he continued to ignore her since he knew what she was trying to do. After walking away he managed to get away from his sister but then ran into another problem.

"What are you doing here? Why weren't you at the meet up spot?"

"Huh?"

He looked up from his phone and saw a familiar red headed 3rd year middle schooler, Fukuhara Yoko. Before we continue let us turn time back by a day…

Sato-San was about to walk out of the school but was interrupted by Fukuhara-San. He instantly changed into his false persona so he could try and keep her away.

"What do you want slut?"

"Slut?! Where did that come from?!"

"You went into my house and started saying how I'm yours, which may I add that I've never met you in my life. Not to mention the whole stalking thing."

"Stalking? Oh…I guess that would seem like stalking but I wasn't."

"Oh really?"

"Yes."

"…"

"Anyway! I will overlook everything you just said!"

She took a couple steps closer to him and looked at him directly in the eyes. "You will join me at the Ebisu district and meet near the Kabukiza Theatre. Be sure to wear nice clothes and don't keep me waiting. The meet up time will be 12 noon sharp."

"…So you just expect me to listen to a fucking stalker? And why would I go on, what seems to be a date, with you?"

"Egh! N-No you have it wrong-I mean this is a date but the stalker part…Is….Wrong…Just be sure to meet me there and don't be the slightest bit late!"

She ran off before Sato-San could even respond and that is the event that led to the situation that would occur a day later. Time to go back to the present…

"Oh hey it's the slut again."

"No! Don't call me that!"

Her screaming attracted the other customers in the store who began to whisper to each other.

"And I would like to know how you found me considering we're quite far from your meet up point."

"Heh, I have eyes everywhere. After you were spotted here I came running."

"Okay. Bye then."

He turned around and was waving while going back on his phone.

"Hey wait!"

She ran up to him and swiped his phone.

"Hey! Give that back!"

He was holding his hand out waiting for his phone to be put in it. Instead she ran off with his phone tightly gripped in her hand.

"Oh that's great! Now you've evolved into a stalker thieving slut!"

"Don't call me that!"

She eventually managed to lose him and hid where she thought she wouldn't be found. She saw that his phone was still on and decided to look at what was on it.

'From what I saw and heard he's been doing the same thing this entire day. What is it that makes what your doing on your phone so important that you'd ignore everyone?'

She looked down at what was on the screen and instantly had a surprised expression on her face.

'A book? He's writing a book? And not this isn't his first?!'

She began to scroll through more and reached where it said the title and author.

'My Third Eye Works For My Love Life Too? The hell is this? Sato Makoto? That's his pen name?'

She took out her phone and looked up the name Sato Makoto. She went to a wiki page and began to read up on him.

'Let's see, what do you have to show me? "The author doesn't really like to take interviews and keeps a major lock on his personal life. He is well known for writing very in depth novels and is considered to be the best romance author in the world." Wait….The best romance author???!!! He writes that good?! What else is here? "He also writes in a darker and serious style that is very unique to his novels and has yet to be replicated in any other story. He has recently taken his skills and tried a completely new genre, the novel being 'In This World Of Nightmares.' It is a dark fantasy that holds the essence of Sato-San's previous work and keeps the same style of dark and serious. Of course he does write his more light hearted moments every now and then, but that is known to be quite rare." …This….This is very interesting, his books may hold the key to getting closer to him…I need to make sure he doesn't know that I know of him being an author.'

She began to think until thinking of one last thing to search.

'Ah! I should probably see how many volumes there are in his series…'

[Volumes in "My Third Eye Works For My Love Life Too" : 16, Volume 17 will be releasing later this month.]

[Volumes in "In This World Of Nightmares" : 1 Volume 2 will be releasing later this month.]

'How long would it take me to read through 16 volumes? The nightmare one seems to have been released recently so I'll have an easy time catching up on that one, but the romance one…Well, I guess I'll just have to bust through them as fast as I can!'

At that moment she heard heavy breathing coming from in front of her. She looked up and saw Sato-San who was wearing a pissed off look.

"Finally…Now, I would very much like my phone back. If you don't give it back I'll have to resort to force."

"Egh! …Okay fine, you can have your phone back. My plan didn't work anyway."

"Huh?"

"Nothing!"

She handed back his phone which she had turned off seconds before and ran off while wearing a large smile.

'I guess I now have a rather strong weapon myself! Maybe I can get this to work!'

Sato-San waited until she was out of sight to go back to his true persona. He gave a sigh of relief and walked over to his family while continuing to write his novel. This family fun day didn't quite go accordingly plan….
