At that point, Duncan took matters into his own hands. “It was a pleasure to meet you both, but Mr. Hall has another engagement. Please excuse us.” Taking Lynn’s arm, he placed it in the crook of his and walked them out of the building and into the night air. Duncan turned to look at Lynn.

“Are you all right? I’m sorry about that. Not all men are such obnoxious assholes.” He rubbed his hands lightly up and down Lynn’s arms.

Shuddering slightly, Lynn took a deep breath. “Now you understand why I asked you to come with me. It doesn’t happen often, but every now and then, some man thinks it’s okay to take advantage of me or make suggestive comments and certain assumptions that just aren’t true. If you hadn’t been there, I would have kicked him in the crotch, but then we’d lose a client, so…” His smile was tremulous, but it was still there.
