8 Confrontation

Zoe blinked as she stared at the place where Ethwa had disappeared. She could only wish the best for her. In an instant, she received a pounding headache as well as information regarding a tunnel which will lead to the beast underlying.

Gritting her teeth at the terrible wizard, Zoe grumbledrumbled as she followed the given directions. Then she found herself in a tunnel that she didn't remember seeing ten seconds ago.

As awful as the wizard was, at the very least his information was meticulous enough to guide her through the twists and turns of the deceptive tunnel.

She came across puddles and then a stream. following through she was now in a subterranean lake. to be shocked was now her last response.

this was seven stones, the mysterious birthplace of the seven legendary beasts.

she removed her outer wear , leaving only her inners. her ruby necklace seemed to pulsing with blood as it absorbed the spirit qi surrounding the lake.

she slowly tested the water of lake while being on alert for unknown dangers. as the water level raised to her thigh level, she seemed to sense a resisting force from within waters, disrupting her senses and draining her strength at alarming rate.

sensing where it's being drained to, she started diving down towards a particular direction.

she witnessed what was at best goring view of a cocoon made of bright light devoring lives of all those around it along with spiritual qi of the lake .

'what are you! ' shrieked Zoe disgusted.

no reply came. only the light ball started shining even more brightly . then the light blinded Zoe and she lost her consciousness.

when she come about she could only stare helplessly as she was bundled up. she looked around for any way to escape the awful fate of dying as a banquet food.

all she could see was the then clear water now murky. although in profound realm she can survive for days without living functions such as breathing. she doesn't believe that light monster would stock up her food.

ugh! why was it all wrong. did she luck out or the world was too scary. she could only grumble all she like in her heart.

she forced down the blood which rose and stared at the nearby fellow prey.

covered in blinding light , she could still vaguely see the figure twitching in pain.

she was actually jealous seeing that.

yes it might seem weird yet considering her circumstance many would agree with her.

one thing she need not worry about was pain, physical kind.in other words after the blessing of G3 when she was infant, she wouldn't feel pain and each tribulation she passes will bring her more fortune.

though she would gladly accept pain , as she only realized now that the Wizard's bless is nothing short of bane. G3 meant physical pain and more tribulation more fortune is nothing short of cursing her for a life of suffering.

so what if she can stand at the apex of world or power!? it can't bring her parents back ! if it is so she would gladly be a worthless good for nothing.

as physical pain meant next to nothing for her, the emotional turmoil she faces has maxed out.each time the demons of heart will year out her deepest nightmare and strike her where it hurts.

she shook her head as she focused on her situation. to wait for that monster to appear and then slay or run away. both seemed highly unlikely in her now weakened state.

she whispered 'hey don't get spooked.im another prey next to you,I can ease Ur pain but we need to cooperate to subdue this monster.'

the figure twitching stopped as she whispered using Hearts voice,which can not only allow telepathy but also transfer ones feeling including those of love and pain.

the figure she knew was prince Min was quite dumbfounded with disappearance of pain and dubious whisper.

to be honest she herself was dumbfounded. I never knew the technique which G3 randomly chose to tease her with will become handy in this sort of situation.

it was said to be courtship technique which she quite disdained.

she sighed and continued , 'who knows how many like under the peaceful lake.lets cooperate then confront. no other choice, we need to act fast'

Min could only grimace and think 'yes, but how. the monster is unknown.forget about weakness, did u even see it's appearance?'

Zoe could only whisper back ' so what. do u have any idea Ur brilliance!'

she was not well known for her temper. so what if he is prince cunning bloodthirsty beast or what not. she herself is scared shit when she becomes serious. if he is a beast then she shall be beast tamer, humpf.

they could only contemplate each other and against the unknown white mass, while being totally vulnerable.

time passed slow, slower than even snail.

by now they have clashed more than thousand verbal blows. when suddenly that damnable light mass came glowing towards them.

they felt the tendrils of light cocooning them tighten very hard then disappear. for now they were no different from mortals in strength.

they warily faced each other, finally face to face.

coming to a common conclusion ,they immediately stood back to back and cautiously looked at their common enemy.
