"In the beginning of times, long before the human race-" she began to read, pausing at intervals to check the children; Manesh had slept but the others, Tema and Kindra were awake and eager to listen.

"Go on" urged Tema. Kindra nodded with a smile.

Months ago, she had picked this little girl from the forest while she was on a wood hunt.

"Okay now, Almighty sent the devil and his minions down to earth and it was theirs to roam about freely until the archangel defeated the devil in a battle for power and dragged him to hell in chains."

" He must be very strong" Tema wondered aloud.she was her first daughter; an eight year old brunette.

Merlina nodded,"He is, now the djins became-" "what's a djins?" Asked Kindra

'curious little baby' thought she.

"They are ancient demons," Tema whispered to Kindra. Merlina nodded then continued.

" The djins became afraid so they hid, away from the archangel Michael, some in the trees"

"In the trees?"

" Yes,they had the power to blend, some hid in the seas, others in the sand, some in ice and others in the common breeze, but the most fearless went down to hell and fortified themselves with the flames of hell. Those were the leaders" " then Almighty created Man" she looked up from the book, Tema was battling with sleep but Kindra was wide awake, strange girl.

" Chaos and atrocities filled the earth as the fallen angels slept with women-"

"Which fallen angels?"

"The ones from last night stories" Merlina explained. Kindra nodded, her eyes shining with curiosity.

"Slept with women and produced human Giants that raided and slaughtered thousands of Men. To stop such form of evil, ten humans asked the fire djins for help, they were the demon Kings. There was one form of power the demons didn't understand; Witchcraft. So they gave it to the humans in a book called " Drosin" meaning the art of Witchcraft."

      Merlina looked up, finally the strange girl was asleep. She put the book aside and covered them. Amazed for the thousandth time, she picked Kindra's hand and looked at her fingers; they are graced with claws instead of nails. She never got tired of Looking at it.

"Goodnight" she whispered.

"Night" the little girl whispered, asleep.

' Who would abandon a beautiful baby?'

Merlina put out the lights and left the room.

"We are here" a deep voice called out, startling her. She felt their dark power. They were witches.

"My Lord, My lady, Mother, you all are welcome" she greeted genuflecting.

" We came to see the girl" the woman she called 'mother' announced.

"Off course" she opened the door, hoping that Kindra wasn't what they were hoping she was.

After a brief time, they all emerged from the room, Merlina looked at them anxiously.

" She's not a demon"

"Then- what is she??"

"The Cursed Princess"
