13 Crossroad City..

"Uuuhhh..."

Rito was dumbfounded..

He thought stuttering was the normal conversation here because when he tried to talk to that girl while speaking properly in the lake, She didn't understand what he was saying...

When he tried to copy how the girl speak, She replied to him..

That's when Rito thought that you need to stutter so they will understand what he wanted to say...

Rito said to himself. "What's the deal with that girl?".

He shook his head..

He tried to forget it and looked at the Owner of the Inn with an apologetic look and said.

"I'm sorry, I didn't do it intentionally".

Seeing the young man apologizing, The Owner just snorted and gave him a key and just ignored him completely.

Rito on the other hand, seeing the owner's treatment.. smiled bitterly and just went to the room according to the number in the key...

He didn't blamed the owner for being pissed.. It's his fault anyway.. He assumed stuttering was normal here..

When he thought about it carefully, The girl was probably just embarrassed because he saw he didn't have to see and so while in shock, She stuttered while speaking..

When he realized this, He just scratched his head and tried to forget it completely..

He put it in the back of his head and rest for a bit.

After resting for three hours..

Rito woke up and went outside..

Before leaving the Inn, He asked the owner some things about this city..

Even though the owner looked pissed, He still answered all his question.

The city is called Crossroad City.

The city is built like a compass with a highway starts from north all the way to the south and east to the west all intersecting in the middle forming a cross, and a road surrounding the city forming a circle. The city wall is about 100 feet tall protecting city from intruders.. It has many ancient writings that gives you a feeling of security.

The city is divided into four districts.

District one which is in the Northwest part of the city. There are many people living here but almost half of them were mages, Because this is where all the schools teach things related to magic.

District two which is in the Northeast part of the city, Is a peaceful loving district, It is composed of many merchants , blacksmiths , priest and all the other supporting jobs..

the schools here teach things related to business and other related stuff.

District three which is in Southwest part of the city, Is a carefree city, This is where the warriors and the barbarians resided. This district had less strict rules than the other two district, They have more freedom but they still follow rules.. The schools here trains you to become warriors..

And the last, District four also called The Slums. This is the most dangerous part of the city..

This is a lawless area and many underground organization is operating here...

The other districts tried to eradicate this Slums before but they failed..

Because even though it is dangerous, they can still benefit from here.. there are many black markets and underground auctions happening here.. and from then on, They just try to co-exist to keep the balance of the city...

and Rito was in the fourth district..

When he discovered that he was in the most dangerous part of the city, he smiled bitterly..

"No wonder when I entered the city earlier, I did not see many people.." Rito thought to himself.

He finally knew why the owner of the inn always looked intimidating,

with how dangerous this district was, There's no one here that is not intimidating enough..

Doing business here needs you to be tough for you to qualify here because if you are not,

A week after you open your business, You are already closing the store..

He walked around the Slums..

He saw many kinds of crimes.. theft , robbery and all the petty crimes.

He saw someone got attacked by a knife, At first he got scared, but he thought that sooner or later he will be the one hunting..

So he needed to familiarize himself with this kind of situation..

Because when that time comes and he hesitated to kill, he will be the one getting killed..

With that kind of thought, He walked around while observing..

Some people tried to approached him, When they were about to attack , He punched a wall and It flew over on the attackers injuring them greatly.

Some were heavily injured while the ones who had minor injuries started running away from him.. The ones who survived spread the news that a young man wearing a red robe was walking around the Slums pretending to be a weakling, finding a prey and killing them...

When Rito heard this, He just shook his head..

After walking for a while, He stopped at a restaurant to eat..

While eating, He heard something that catches his ear..

"Did you hear? The Crossroad Cult was recruiting... It looks like they are doing something big.." said the man next to the table.

The man sitting next to him said. "Yeah I already heard that, Some said they will attack the second district and kidnap some women and turn them into sex slaves.."

The man continued. "They won't show mercy even on children.. The girls around 8-12 that they will get will be auction on their Pavilion".

When Rito heard what the man said, His expression turned cold..

Even though he was not a bad person, He wasn't a good person either.

If he got push too far, He will start to fight back and show no mercy..

If it was before and he heard this kind of things..

He will just pretend he didn't hear it and walked away.

But now that he had the capability, He will try to help if he thinks it was injustice.

He was not trying to be a hero, If the people they will gonna kidnap or kill was doing shady business too..

He won't even bother about it..

But the children...

They are still not capable of doing evil things the adults can do..

So when he heard that, His fuse got triggered..

The two man next to him finished eating..

They stand up and walked out of the restaurant..

When Rito saw this, He followed behind them..

While the two man were leisurely walking, they entered an alley..

While they were talking they suddenly heard someone called them..

"Hi , can I talk to you guys for a minute?" Said the young man wearing a red robe.

The man who talked about the recruitment earlier heard this, He frowned and said.

"Who the fuck do you think you are talking to?".

The man beside him added.

"Do you want to die today kid?".

When the young man wearing a red robe heard this.. He laughed and said.

"Why do you have to be mad? I just wanted to talk to you guys for a bit".

The young man then smiled like he was mocking them..

When the man who talked about the recruitment saw the young man's expression..

He was about to say something when the man beside him already jumped out and attack the young man.

"Die now kid!"..

The man who attacked was an expert at martial arts..

He was also a warrior so his physical strength was above the others..

When he jumped out, He already arrived in front of the young man.

He raised his left arm and made a slice aiming at the young man's neck..

"That's what you get for being cocky".

The man already thought the young man wearing a red robe was dead..

When he was about to put away his arm on the young man's neck.

He suddenly heard the young man talked.

"What do you think you're doing? I already said I want to talk with you guys" said the young man wearing a red robe.

The man looked up, He saw the young man with his head tilted looking at him with a cold expression..

When he was about to retreat away from the young man, He suddenly felt a hard time breathing.. Before he can even make an expression, His feet left the ground and his body flew like a rocket and smashed on the wall..

Not having any signs of life..

The young man turned to looked at the other man and smiled..

Seeing that smile, The man was already shaking and sweating..

He suddenly begs for his life..

"Please don't kill me sir, I don't want to die....".

When the young man heard him, he was still smiling and said.

"I already said I only wanted to talk to you guys..."

When the man heard this.. His expression became joyful and said hurriedly..

"Thank you sir!, Thank you sir!".

The young man ignored what the man was doing and asked.

"Where can I find the Crossroad Cult?".

Hearing what the young man asked..

He was shocked at first then hurriedly replied.

"In the Cucu Pavilion.. That's where they recruit new members too.. It's just two blocks away after you turn around the corner.."

The young man then said. "Alright, Thanks".

The young man wearing a red robe started walking towards the direction the man gave...

When the man saw the young man walking away..

He sighed in relief..

He recalled what happened earlier and can't help but shiver...

He suddenly felt something down below and looked down..

He was dazed for a long time while looking down..
