8 Chapter 8

"OMG! WHY ARE THEY CHASING ME?!" she still run away anxiously but the zombies behind are furiously chasing her. Even those zombies nearby attracted to her shouts.

"LOOK FOR A WAY TO CHASE THEM AWAY!!" she shouted at Antonette who is clone counterpart right now.

"Look! There's a car!" Antonette pointed to her. Hazel immediately ran towards the direction where the car is while still being chased by hordes of zombies.

She went inside and drove off out of their sights. She sighed and slouched her back on the seat while leisurely driving.

"Young Miss, what will you do from now on? They have seen you fighting against those zombies" Antonette worriedly said. She couldn't sit still but stared on Hazel. She pouted when she saw Hazel's calm composure.

"Hmm? No, they won't come to me" Hazel confidently replied without worrying of what will be the Hunter Family's actions next.

Antonette was confused. "Why?" and couldn't stop herself from asking.

Hazel smirked. "The Zombie Apocalypse just started. The Hunter Family's assets and resources reduced to 40% but still enough to fend for themselves". Because 60% of the Hunter Family's assets are based on Stocks and Investments, Oil Trading and Cryptocurrency while its 40% remaining are based on Food Production, Agricultural Farming and Pharmaceutical Production.

In this new era, the remaining 40% will be the best resources as a support for survival and manpower.

Hazel can already deduced that with Old Master Hunter's cunning and strategic mind, the Hunter Family will begin to recruit outsiders to nurture as a Zombie Hunters sooner if they are able to realize the usage of the remaining 40% in their hands.

'If not, I will certainly question my origin' as she thought.

"Also, there are also other wealthy families who are in the same boat with Hunter Family so they are greeding for food resources and the best targets are those family in the same standing." Hazel can also deduced that it is not only the Hunter Family who reduced the damages during the outbreak but also the other wealthy families.

Fighter Recruitment and Food Resources Missions will be common type of jobs, too.

"That's why, the Hunter Family primarily needs to stabilize themselves by calming down their frightened family members and men. Do you think they have enough time to look for me?" the reasons why she's confident that the Hunter Family will not look for her...yet.

"Well, let's say they really do have time looking for me and are about to go to that place. What do you think will they do if they saw a horde of zombies? Fight head-on to cross over or to go back?" while her eyes are on the road. It is quiet outside and there are no zombies lurking around but Hazel doesn't care.

She knows that quietness is not a good sign but it doesn't matter. She'll just teleport. So?

Antonette keeps nodding as she listened to Hazel's deduction while being amazed of Hazel's analysis of the situations.

"Then, where are we going?" Antonette blinked her eyes as she asked confusedly.

Hazel raised her eyebrows, "Isn't it obvious? We are also looking for food stocks on the warehouses which are not yet discovered" she replied with a 'use-your-mind' look.

"Huh? But we have many food stocks inside the Underground Based of Tancongco Mansion accumulated by Eight Master" Antonette said as she rolled her eyes. She felt that her life experiences for many years are useless in front of her Young Miss.

Hazel stepped on the brake. Her body was pushed forward because of the impact and turned her head on Antoinette's direction as her eyes widened.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!!" she shouted with anger.

Antonette was stunned of her Young Miss outburst and was speechless.

"Uhh.. Didn't I tell you?" she asked but her tone sounds no confident at all like she's uncertain, too.

"NO! YOU DIDN'T!" Hazel immediately shouted.

Antonette scratched her head while trying hard to remember if she really tell her earlier but couldn't recall at all.

"Hehe" she giggled.

"Then, what's the point of going out?!"

"What's the point of looking for food?!"

"What's the point of being chased by those stinky and rotten zombies?!"

Antonette felt wrong. She also doesn't want to make it difficult for her master but she really didn't know that her master's reason why she must go outside.

Even though she's the Goddess of Elves, she's not omnipotent enough to know everything. Her ability is only limited for the Elven Tribes.

Hazel heaved a sigh after being pissed off by Antonette.

"Then, tell me everything I need to know. Don't exclude any single thing" Hazel emphasized her point.

Then, she found a gasoline station nearby and stopped the car. She went outside while checking her surrounding.

"Zombies? CLEARED!"

"Humans? CLEARED!"

"Gasoline? Let me check!"

She mumbled and went towards the direction of gasoline station. She checked it if there's still available gasoline there.

Her eyes showed her delight.

Antonette followed Hazel and waited for her to finish fully charging the car with gas.

"So, what are the things I need to know and already have in Tancongco Territory" Hazel almost finished charging the car with gas.

"Well, Honestly, You only have five useful resources in Tancongco Mansion" Antonette started.

Hazel raised her eyebrows as it piqued her curiosity of what are those will be.

"Of course! You already obtained the first one..." Antonette smugly said as she raised her chin and smirked.

"...which is me!" and put her fingers together to form a heart cutely.

Hazel's lips twitched.

"Well, that's unexpected" she admitted herself that she was shocked of Antoinette's existence, not only as an Elf but also as a goddess of Elf.

Antonette nodded while her eyes shone brightly as she saw her master's nodding acknowledgedment.

"Well, As you can see, I was an old woman just like others because, basically, I cannot use my Elven powers if I'm not contracted. I can only guide the elves and guard the tree of life for them". Her guidance and power as a goddess of elves will only be activated solely by constant faiths, offerings and worships of elves.

However, she cannot interfere too much on the daily life of elves nor always monitoring them. Her powers will work anytime and anywhere in any timeline of each world if there are elves.

"However, as a goddess of Elves, unlike other elves, I don't need the tree of life to be nurtured but needed to be contracted by my destined master" She doesn't need to bath on the essence of tree of life just to use her powers. As a goddess of elves, her existence is already equivalent to a tree of life. Meaning, she doesn't need to stay near the tree of life just to stay alive eternally.

"What if, I died before you even have contract with me?" Hazel asked directly. She already experienced death four times from her four lifetimes. She may be used to it but that's herself, nobody else.

"Then, I will also die together with my master as my punishment of not contracting my master." Antonette nonchantly replied like she doesn't care if it happens or not.

Anyway, her only goal for existing since she was born, was to find her destined master.

If she cannot find her destined master, it's fine as long as her master is alive.

If she found her but cannot be contracted due to special reasons, it's fine. Her life is already on her destined master's hands. She has no final say to it.

If her destined master doesn't want to accept her as a soul contracted servant, she cannot forced her and just watched her from afar.

If her destined master dies...well, it is their destiny to die even if they didn't want to die unless her destined master died unnaturally.

Dying naturally is unpredictable and inevitable but dying unnaturally is unacceptable and unforgettable.

(Note: Natural Death is due to old age which we cannot controlled, while unnatural death is due to illness or accidents which can be controlled through poisons or car accidents)

However, she has the obligation to revenge on the behalf of her destined master for three days, if it is unnatural death.

Her soul will not reincarnate as another goddess of elves in the future if she has not done a revenge.

Luck and misfortune is nothing to the goddess of elves because, as what she said earlier, her life depends on her destined master's life.

"... and, It is already run on our soul as a goddess of elves to find our destined master. So, unfortunately, I will also die at the same time" Antonette didn't tell Hazel about her obligation to revenge on her behalf if she really die unnaturally.

"Ohh" Hazel tightened her grip on the steering wheel as she listened on nonchalant replies of Antonette but her heart felt suffocated. She knows she already died once. Does it mean Antonette died as well?

Hazel gritted her teeth and hated herself for being useless in her first lifetime.

Antonette looked at her master, Hazel Tancongco. She felt her master's emotional fluctuations while Hazel still looked indifferent explicitly.

"Anyway, I have already done a soul contract with you. Whenever you die, I also die. Still the same outcomes. Either I am contracted or not, it is still the same ending" Antonette tried to comfort Hazel but she doesn't know how. She only knows how to serve as a maid because that's how she survived until now as a human being.

Also, perfection is not on her vocabulary as she's also not an omnipotent goddess like others.

However, she's unfamiliar with human emotions. Even though elves are emotional, she's quite different to other elves. She's the goddess of elves who grows up beside humans with little interactions because of her trait as a strict head maid.

She was not deprived of speaking recklessly. In fact, she is respected by Hunter Family as what Mr. Dave Hunter showed his dissatisfaction when Liezel inquired about the old mansion.

The old mansion is the head maid's territory. The Eight Master of Hunter Family bestowed her the authority to command anyone as long as they set their foot inside the Imperial Forest or territory.

Even the Old Master Hunter, the Tenth Master of Hunter Family, has no authority over the old mansion but he can visit anytime.

"What if.. Only if... I don't know if there's a possibility of this but... what if, my soul reincarnated to another world, will you also come with my soul?" Hazel's ears perked up as she waited for Antonette's response as the gas tank of the car is already full. She also got the fifteen gas gallons to fill it with gas

Antonette looked at Hazel. She doesn't know why her master is asking about soul reincarnation which is forbidden in the Heaven World.

She's contemplating on what she should say about it but she has no knowledge about soul reincarnation. After all, she grows up along with the humans.

"Well, If your soul still exist, I can also follow. I have strong bond to your soul which is why I will not be surprised if it happened" as she analyzed the possibility but tossed it at back of her head.

Anyway, soul reincarnation is forbidden because the Heavenly Guards cannot detect their presence with or without concealing artifacts or treasures to hide the unusual force of the foreign soul.

"Ohhh" Hazel respond as she was struck by realization that there's a fifty-fifty chance of it to happened.

"What about the other four?" Hazel asked as she started the car engine and drove off towards the direction of the hospital nearby.

"Second, the territory of Imperial Forest. It is not the doing of your ancestors but because of me" Antonette pouted as it reminded her the reasons of her weakening powers as a goddess of elves.

"Hmmm? How can it be related to you again?" Hazel rolled her eyes as she saw Antonette's pouted lips but delighted eyes.

"I am certain you did it intentionally, whatever I is" Hazel murmured to herself.
