The deprived, old fashioned town of Amsterdam holds a secret. Rosie Farrier has the perfect life working as a author in the city. However, when she finds an obnoxious book in her cellar, she begins to realise that things are not quite as they seem in the Farrier family. A murder leaves Rosie with some startling questions about her past, and she sets off to country Amsterdam to find some answers. At first the people of Amsterdam are dreamy and unlucky. She is intrigued by the curious student, Christian Nolan. However, after he introduces her to hard books, Rosie slowly finds herself drawn into a web of murder, robbery and perhaps, even kidnapping. Can Rosie resist the charms of Christian Nolan and uncover the secret of the obnoxious book before it's too late, or will her demise become yet another Amsterdam legend?
