18 Chapter 18

Lydia

I placed my hand over my heart feeling the fast beating, my face turned into a smile thinking about the kiss, I settle myself on the couch and lean my head back, I miss my mom. I fished out my phone to call mom when a sound of opening doors pulled me out of my action.

"Hi Lydia, you're back already" she asked slouching down next to me.

"Yeah" I said in a low voice.

"Am hungry" she didn't notice my blushing.

"There is leftover rice in the fridge, warm it up" I continued with what am about to do before she came in. I dialed my mom's number.

"Hello mom"

"Lydia...you totally forgot your mother" she fake cry.

"No...that's not it mom, we've been busy preparing for the semester exams"

"OK..how are you" she asked with concern.

"Am fine, I missed you mom"

"I missed you too my daughter, when are you coming home" I missed home too.

"After exams I will visit you mom, I will call you again, goodnight mom"

"Goodnight daughter" after hanging up, I laid my head again, thinking of earlier event, a smile made it's way on my lips.

"What happened lydi, why are you blushing" I didn't even notice Nicole standing right behind me furrowing her brows.

"When did I?", I lied.

"It's showing on your face, you've been blushing like tomatoes, minding telling me the reason" she said Placing one hand on her hip.

"Woah...I'm very tired today, goodnight Nicole. its better to sleep early, you know we have test tomorrow" I stood up stretching my arms, and fake yawn.

"You're dodging the topic huh?"

"Don't forget to wake me up early" I trekked to my room. Am not ready to tell Nicole about the kiss, she will start teasing me.

"No...No....please don't kill him"

"NO!"

My eyes flashed open. Am having the same dream again, I wipe off the sweat from my forehead. I need to tell Zion about this bad dream, I will tell him today after the class.

I took a warm bath, and wore a simple top and jeans, I tied my hair in a tight bun. Nicole has made breakfast as usual. After eating breakfast we left for school. Zion is not yet in class last time he came early and now..., just when am about to call his number I spot him, he's wearing a black leather jacket with a black jeans he looks hot. He sat next to me.

"Hey" he said grinning showing his white teeth, when I looked into his eyes, last night event flashed through my mind, making a familiar feeling erupt in my stomach.

"Hi" I greeted

"So how was your night" he added, looking straight into my eyes, my face turns tomato red.

"Enough with the flirting, the professor is here" Nicole chipped in. The noise came to a halt, everyone is getting ready for the test.

After we are done with the test, we walked to the cafeteria to get something to feed our stomach. Nicole is busy chatting with James while me and Zion are eating quietly.

"Can I talk to you for a moment" I lean in and whispered to zion.

"Sure"

We trekked outside and sat on one of the benches.

"So tell me" he turned his face my direction waiting for me to talk.

"I....want to..."

I stammered feeling nervous. I have to tell him. Just when the confidence overcome me, Zion phone started ringing, he took the phone from his pocket and he tensed griping the phone tightly, he eyes turns dark, clenching his jaw he stood up.

"What's wrong? Are you okay" I asked worriedly.

"I will call you later" with that he left hurriedly.

I don't understand what is going on, Tom came to my mind, I hope its not tom. I checked my surrounding for any suspicious person but found none. I went back to the cafeteria, Nicole and James are still chatting.

"Hey, where is Zion?" James asked.

"Something came up so he left"

We went back to the class for our second lectures. My mind wandered to Zion, I hope he's fine, I don't want my dream to become reality.

Throughout the the day am not in my usual self. I checked my phone several times for Zion's call but there where none.

"Lydia, are you okay, you've been off since this morning" Nicole asked with concern.

"I don't know Nicole, I feel uneasy, like something bad is going to happen" Nicole sat next to me and patted my back.

"Don't put too much stress on yourself, nothing will happen, did you try calling Zion?" I nodded my head in No.

"His phone is switched off".

I tried calling Zion again, but his phone is still switched off, I hope everything is fine. To put my thought away I decided to go for a walk. I wore my cardigan and wrap a muffler around  my neck.

"Nicole, am going out for a walk"

"Okay, be careful" she shouted from her room.

Its a little dark outside, with heavy breeze, I put my hand inside my cardigan pocket to keep my hands warm. There are just few people on the street, I spotted a hot dog stand, a smile form on my lips thinking of hotdog. I stalked towards the stall and bought some for me and Nicole.

I was on my way back when I felt a shadow behind me, i shrugged thinking maybe its my shadow. I still felt a shadow following me, I started walking fast when a hand pulled me back. Fear evident on my face and my eyes widen in shock at the person in front of me.
