70 Society Over The Wild

Chapter 70: Society Over The Wild

"We have to find the missing pieces of the cauldron now?"

"I am so tired, Sep. Are you sure this is worth it?" The three were sitting back at the same tavern that they went to before taking the road and heading toward the Morgan Marsh. The three of them had barely had any time to decompress and rest. The only one among them that looked a bit more ready to go at it again was September, but even her was a little more out of energy than usual. Her clothes were cleaned and nice-looking compared to the armor of the Minotaur, which was all dirty and covered in mud. April was muddy as well. She wasn't a lot, though. Only another purple nightgown she had been provided by September, herself. Almost as if the witch was constantly providing her with the same type of skimpy dress to keep her from being naked, but only barely. Keeping her almost naked, so Junk would want to have sex with her, over and over again… As if it wasn't the case already. Junk was already all over her all the time. Her wearing more or less clothes wasn't going to change that in any fashion. Although, September seemed to be thinking that it was the case. The tavern was almost completely filled to its maximum capacity that afternoon. Drunk men were filling this rat-hole and needless to say that the three renegades were attracting a lot of attention. Junk because he was a huge and tall, hulking Minotaur. And September and April because they were two real beauties wearing little clothing. Many, many men in the tavern right now were observing the two women, fantasizing about them. If only they could have them.

"We have to do this. You all think we went to these swamps just for fun? The mission all along was to recover the magical cauldron of my old master. It would help us a lot to defend ourselves against the witches from the guild," September explained to them.

"Hold on, now, witch! I'm just so freaking confused. First off, at the beginning of everything, you told us that the plan was to capture as many monsters and spirits and demons, so we can use them in your army or harvest their powers to battle the evil witches. Now, we need to re-assemble the pieces of that cursed cauldron? Would you make up your mind already?" the Minotaur stopped her and interrogated her. He was so mad about the fact that the original plan was to hunt and capture monsters and that now, it was sort of no longer in the cards for some reason. It was too much for the beast to comprehend. A more streamlined operation was required for him.

"I would agree with Junk on this one, Sep. I thought the original plan was to hunt monsters as well," April voiced her opinion.

"Don't worry. It's still the plan. It's just that if we could find the broken pieces of the cauldron as well, at the same as hunting monsters to defend ourselves, it would make our lives much better. Trust me. There," she pulled up a book, a grimoire from a leather bag she had with her on her lap. "Take a look at this. That's one of the books my master used to use when she was still active. She has written in there that we could trace and find the pieces of her cauldron by following and hunting monsters. The pieces contain so much mana that monsters and spirits are attracted by it. So, the new plan would be to continue doing the same thing we have been meaning to do all along. We hunt monsters. We hunt the more powerful monsters we can find, and it should also lead us to the pieces. Since the cauldron has been broken two times in the span of a day or so, the broken pieces were teleported a little all over the Halloween Kingdom. Something that my master says also happened to her here in this book," September explained everything to them as she read the book.

"That sounds really nice, Sep, but I think a few days of rest would be needed before we begin talking about anything like that," April said as she stood up on the floor of the tavern and stretched her arms. She yawned as well. Even though it was only the middle of the day, she felt so tired already. "I think I need a bath and a bed."

"I believe it can be done. This place is not only a tavern, but also an inn, so let's see if they have any bedrooms available," Junk said. It was a fair point. The tavern had two floors and one of them was bound to have a few bedrooms available to be rented. Well… As long as there were still some left, hopefully. Junk was feeling the same as April. Resting for a few days was the way to go before more work.

"Hey, babe, do you want to share my bedroom with me?" an old, perverted man walked up to April and offered her to come to his room. April was caught off guard by his proposition at first. She blushed. Smiled at him. She didn't know what to say, really.

"Oh, well, it's really kind of you, but I don't know really…"

"Oh, come on, sweetie! Come to my room! Come with me!"

"Let it go, or you'll have to deal with me…" Junk intervened. The following second, the perverted man was out of there, running for his life. September smirked when she witnessed the beauty of how possessive Junk could be with April. The elvish young woman waved at the fleeing, perverted man. So innocent. Still blushing and smiling.

"Bye! Maybe next time, then! Alright, time to find my own bedroom!" April said to herself before walking up to the counter.

Barely fifteen minutes later, April had her own bedroom. The bedroom had a bathroom, which meant that she was granted her wish and that she also had a bathtub all for herself. She was the happiest girl in the world as she lay down in the tub filled with warm water and soapy bubbles.

"This is exactly what I needed after the Morgan Marsh!"

"Do you think she's alright?" Junk asked September at one of the tables of the tavern downstairs.

"Yes, Junk. She is," she confirmed to him.

"Alright…"

"Now, let's talk some more about the next monster hunt. Shall we?" The Autumn witch was serious about this. But then, as the two were going to be having this conversation again, the door of the tavern was suddenly opened and two soldiers marched inside.

Junk noticed them right away.

September did too.
