Back home

As I listened to the old man, I was surprised to be recognized by such an unusual wand. I didn't think much about the whole dark and notorious thing since my path would not be a clean one to begin with. If my memories serve me right, Tom Riddle, aka Voldemort, had a yew wand with a phoenix feather; interesting. As I stared at the 13.5 inches somewhat flexible wand I was engrossed in its design. After what seemed to be ages, I slotted it back into the sheath that came with it and put it away.

I walked out of the shop accompanied by the same bell sound before seeing an annoyed Professor McGonagall staring at me reproachfully. "Mr Knight, what took you so long its been an hour!" she said before pointing at her watch. "sorry Professor, Mr Ollivander and I found it difficult to find a wand that suited me," I told her with a stiff smile. It seemed to be stuck on my face since one accident came after another. "very well, let's go get your pet, do you have an idea of which one you would like?" she questioned as we walked down the still busy street flooded with the sounds of people's voices.

"I do; I was thinking about getting an owl. I don't really like anything else. I was thinking about getting a cat, but they're just a nuisance for school, so I decided against it." I answered before I realized what I had said. Professor McGonagall stopped abruptly and turned around to look at me for a second before once again walking off towards the Petshop. I completely forgot that Professor McGonagall's animagus form is a cat! fuck me! She is totally going to hold a grudge, I thought before following behind her silently.

As we made our way to the destination we arrived at a shop that sold owls and various other things needed for the care of owls, like Owl Treats. It sold a variety of breeds, including screech, barn, tawny, brown, and snowy. We walked into the place and was greeted by an old woman dressed in puffy clothes with the occasional feather stuck to her jacket. She had white hair and a thick pair of glasses that made me wonder if she could even see at all without them. I looked around the place and sifted through the variety of owls inside. I didn't really find one that I liked when a shadow flashed by and I felt a sudden extra weight on my left shoulder. I was caught off guard and made sure to make no sudden movements. I slowly turned my head to see a big grey eastern eagle owl perched on my shoulder with its big orange eyes staring at me curiously.

I turned to the Old lady and when she saw the owl on my shoulder a surprised expression surfaced on her face. "I didn't think this big girl would ever find an owner." said the old lady as she made her way towards me. She stretched out her hand and caressed the side of the owl's face before retracting it. She turned to look at me with curiosity. "this one right here has a foul temper when it comes to strangers and usually stays away from others, I wonder what's so special about you that she would fly towards you?" she questioned. I only shook my head showing that I had no idea. I turned my head towards the owl again and stretched my hand upwards in an attempt to pat the owls head.

The old lady seemed to be intrigued by the outcome and looked on expectantly. The owl looked at my rising hand and then at me before leaning in towards my hand. The old lady was surprised by the owl's actions and looked at me with even more curiosity. It made me uncomfortable but I needed to tolerate it for now. I looked at the owl and then at the lady. "I'll be taking this one with me please," I said while walking to the counter with the owl still on my shoulder. I picked up one of the treats used to feed the owls and handed it to the owl which took it happily and nuzzled my cheek.

The old lady made her way to the counter as well and finished all the procedures before handing me a cage and 6 big bags of treats which I put into the backpack with the expansion charm. When I tried to Usher the Owl into the cage it didn't want to and shrieked before landing on my shoulder again. "listen, I need to leave and go back home soon, can you please go in the cage? I will let you out very soon." I said trying to convince the bird. after much struggle, it begrudgingly went into the cage and we continued to get all the necessary things for school.

We went and got everything else that was mentioned in the letter before finally finishing everything. Professor McGonagall and I soon walked out of the Leaky Cauldron and back into the alley from where we arrived and apparated back to my house. I managed it better this time and barely felt sick. I was still a bit wobbly on my feet but I soon felt better. We arrived at my door and I heard the sound of the Professor's voice. "that is all, I will be seeing you at school Mr Knight. Remember to send your owl with the official letter agreeing to attend Hogwarts." she said before handing me a train ticket. It had the classic Kings Cross station platform 9 & 3/4 on it and a date for the 1st of September. She didn't say anything else and left.

If I was like Potter and didn't have a clue about anything I would be fucked. Is it so hard to just give me some instruction? I'm even suspicious of the circumstances to which Potter met the Weasley's. I suspect that Dumbledore had a hand in the "chance encounter" since Molly Weasely probably knew Dumbledore. Since the old man heard the prophecy pertaining to Lord Voldemort he must be setting up for this year and the ones to come, having Molly the sister of two ex order of the phoenix members help Harry seems convenient to me. Having our dear little Harry meet a nice family Which just so happens to have all their children in the Gryffindor house also seems suspect. Percy should be the prefect this year and Ron is our age and then there are the Weasley twins. He will be surrounded by good people. Funny old man if you ask me. I don't hate him or dislike him, I would even like to share a cup of tea while we share our schemes. Naturally, I will not ruin his plans to manipulate and test harry as long as they don't impact me or my plans.
