- Limbo - Boundary of Life and Death -

I groaned when my awareness returned. My mind had yet to reach equilibrium. When I reached a balance, by which the panic didn't mess with my perception anymore, I slowly looked around my surrounding.

The first thing I noticed is that I am in a long white corridor. The second thing I noticed is; my body is transparent and glowing ethereal.

After observing this important detail, I recalled my moment of death. It was a pretty brutal death if I say so myself. Other than the emotion I felt during my moment of death, I feel nothing particular about my life(former life?!).

I feel like I am detached from my mortal emotions. It feels like all my memory and experience are turned into information.

Suddenly I felt a familiar presence behind me. I Instantly knew why I thought this presence was familiar.

"Your assumption is right, descendant of Peverell. I am Death. I was the one who was constantly present in your life.", said a cold and eerie feminine voice behind me.

"Where am I? Why am I here? What do you want from me? Didn't you take enough from me?", I said hoarsely to Death the abstract entity who is now in front of me as a pale-skinned gothic female.

"You are in Limbo. You are here because I summoned you. You are here because you are the first Peverell Warlock ever to get the allegiance of all three Deathly Hallows. You are here because I have an offer for you, which you will undoubtedly be interested in", answered Death completely ignoring my last question.

"You summoned me because I got the allegiance of Deathly Hallows? Don't tell me those Deathly Hallows made me some kind of Master of Death. I thought all those stories were horseshit. And why do you think I will be interested in your offer? Everything precious to me was taken by you. In life, I was the pawn of greater men. Do you think I will be a pawn even in death", I said coldly and fearlessly. Fearing death now seems to be pointless as I am already dead.

"You are indeed correct that I summoned you because you got the allegiance of all three Deathly Hallows. But you are delusional if you think that a mere mortal can be a master of death. Although you should know that you aren't just a mere mortal. You have become my warlock. You are now The Death Consul, The Agent of Death and The Reaper", Death said coldly with her indifferent voice. "As for the offer, you can accept or decline, I won't force you. Although you should know that you will have a second chance to live your life however you want if you accept my offer."

"What do you mean by a second chance at life", I asked solemnly, even though I understood the hidden meaning, I dare not believe her.

"It is exactly what you are thinking. My offer for you is to reborn in a parallel reality to become my agent of death. You will be my executioner in the mortal plane. You will judge those who cheated me.", Death said coldly. "If you accept my offer you will get some perk from becoming my blessed. Also, you will not get any quest or mission before you reap the soul of your archenemy".

Even though I shouldn't feel any emotion in this strange place, I still felt hatred when Death mentioned my archenemy. In my previous life, he died a merciful death compared to how he had killed all my precious people. My victory against him was hollow and pathetic. As I was thinking about my archenemy, I also remembered my mentor. My mentor who was a senile, manipulative, deceptive man, who sacrificed my happiness for the greater good, sacrificed my life for Magical Britain.

"Very well. I, Hadrian Sirius Potter, accept your offer. What do I have to do", I asked grimly, accepting the fact that I will have to go through everything again, but this time alone.

"First you have to know that where you are going is not your reality so certain events and history will be different from your former world. You have to see the difference yourself.", said the entity that embodies the concept of death.

"Secondly you will get two abilities for becoming my champion on the mortal plane. You will know what those two abilities are. Those abilities will make you the strongest of your kind. Now, If you have anything to ask, ask away; I will now begin the process of parallel soul fusion. It will hurt a lot as your soul will experience unbearable pressure from limbo."

"I have nothing to ask.", I said unhesitatingly. I have already firmed my resolve to do this.

"Very well. I bid you good fortune. We will meet again when your time comes", Death said to me one last time before I began to feel pain unlike any before, and then I passed out.
