Prologue

Well, you know the basics - MC dies. "Hail the Almighty Truck-kun."

MC: "I died? How? I don't remember much. The last thing I remember is two bright orbs of light speeding toward me." ~Shudders~ "No wait. Is this what I think it is? Truck-kun?"

???: "Ahem! Good that you are back. Now to clarify, yes you passed away. My condolences. And yes, it was Truck-kun."

MC: "Who are you?"

???: "A god!"

Mc's eyes widen in surprise. Was he really on a cliche route to an Isekai story?

MC: "So what now? Is this where I get to reincarnate/transmigrate into another world with some powers?" His eyes shine like a kid who just received his new toy.

God: "You want to be a Hero? In that case, you can't"

MC: "Hero? And why can't I be one?"

God: "Yes, that is what we call individuals who pass on to the next world with some sort of divine protection. Be it in the form of wishes, systems, or any other such powers. You cannot be a hero because you do not have the necessary karma. Only those souls which have karma levels up and above a certain index will be chosen as heroes."

MC: "Oho. Then what about me? If I am just an ordinary soul why I am having this conversation with you?"

God: "Hahahaha. Yes, you are good. You are an ordinary soul whose karma levels didn't reach the minimum requirement to be chosen as a hero. But! You are a very lucky soul indeed. Listen well, human. I am one of the many gods that preside over the Omniverse. We have what we call 'World Travelers.' There are beings who are unique in their very nature of existence. They and only they are able to alter fate. Therefore, they are also known by another name-'Fate Alterers.' Now you have that special something in you. Now don't be excited. To be a world traveler, you need permission and the blessing of one of the ruling gods. That is why they are very very scare in the entire omniverse. We only have about 50 or so. And I happen to have to recruit a new one." ~smile~

MC: "Am I going to be a world traveler? What do they do actually?"

God: "A world traveler's job is to alter the fate of a world. In this vast Omniverse, there exists multiple timelines and multiverses that it is confusing just thinking about it. But to simply, just know this. There are almost infinite worlds of the same origin. That is, let's take your universe as an example. Due to various known and unknown factors, there exist near-infinite variations of your universe. All the multiple different variations of your universe can be combinedly called a 'multiverse'. Now this is where things get really messy. In each variation of your Multiverse, different possibilities exist due to known and unknown interferences. This causes to have multiple timelines to exist in a single variation of a multiverse. However, all the timelines are somewhere connected. We call those nexus points. And events that lead to the break of the timeline are called nexus events. Are you with me so far, my boy?"

MC: "Yes, I think. Somehow?"

God: "Good. Continuing, some nexus events may be desirable, while others not so much. Some may cause immense benefit to the world and others may cause utter destruction. Again, the perspective of desirability depends on the biased opinion of the world's spirit. This..."

Mc: "Wait a minute! World spirit? What are they?"

God: "Ah yes. You wouldn't know that would you? A mature enough planet develops single or multiple world spirits. Let's not go down that rabbit hole, shall we? Just know that a world spirit is a sentient representation of the world."

MC: "Okay...It is not confusing at all."

God: "Moving on, as I said, the beneficiality of a nexus event is based on the spirit's opinion. And sometimes, it can be biased. For example, in one of the worlds I know, the world spirit of that world has developed a particular fondness for a certain race. The initial fate of that race was annihilation. But, the spirit contacted a world traveler to create a nexus point to turn around the fate of the race. That resulted in the annihilation of the majority of other races on the planet."

MC: "So a world traveler has to create nexus events?"

God: "No my boy, it is quite the opposite. A world traveler's main duty is to purge nexus events that lead to timeline branching into an unstable timeline. Sometimes, a single event or a series of independent events may cause a cascading effect and split a timeline into an unstable timeline. This means the resultant timeline will collapse into itself not only resulting in a universe explosion of super cosmic levels but also destroying other stable timelines in that variation of the multiverse. A world traveler's duty is to prevent any unstable timelines and protect stable timelines in all multiverses. World travelers will be paid in cosmic energy or special abilities. Therefore, many call them gods-in-training. You will know more about it when the time is right. Now since unstable timelines are quite rare, world travelers can also accept job requests from unsatisfied world spirits that want to specifically change the fate of their worlds. The payment will be negotiated before the job. I will leave that to you to explore."

God: "Now boy. Would you like to become a 'World Traveler'?"

MC: "How can I even change the fate of a world? I don't have any powers or something. I am not a god or the so-called hero. I would die quickly if I take this job."

God: "Don't worry, I will give you a starting bonus. I also have an unstable timeline for you, if you do accept the job. The world level is pretty low. You will have no problem in solving the nexus events."

hmm.....after thinking for a while, MC decides to take up the job. His grandfather always used to tell him that 'Fortune favors the Bold'.

God: "Excellent! Now for your bonus, I will give you three of the basic elemental affinities. For your reference, the basic elements are Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Lightning. Now choose."

MC: "Hmm...Okay. I have decided. I would want Fire, Wind, and Lightning."

God: "Excellent choises. I will give you an advanced spell book, occlumency talent, and a good boost to your magic. Your first world will be the 'Harry Potter' world. A series of nexus events happen that you need to solve one by one. You will know them when you arrive there. Good luck!"
