CH 2: Adaptation

Three days later, Lucius stood before Lorion smiling gently.

"So, Master Gaunt, do you need to wish goodbye to your friends before we leave?"

Lucius finished his paperwork for Lorion's adaptation and was ready to take him to Hogwarts. Before leaving, Lucius looked at Lorion and asked casually.

"No, I don't have any friend here. I am often seen as a freak they just wished could disappear!"

Lorion murmured depressingly. Having an adult soul, Lorion could clearly feel the disgust and malice of the other children and wardens around him. If someone needed to be wished goodbye, it would be his snake friends who were with him in his loneliness. Luckily, he wished them yesterday night already.

Lorion and Lucius walked to a dark alley with no one around them. Lucius then held up his walking stick with a snake head and murmured [Repello Muggletum].

"Master Gaunt, now that we have finished our official business, I believe we need to go for shopping."

Lucius spoke politely as he took out his pocket watch and peeked at it. However, before Lucius could continue, Lorion stared at Lucius and asked "Tell me Mr. Malfoy, why you call me master?"

Lucius was stultified and took a while to organize his thoughts. Then he replied "Because the noble house of Gaunt, whose ancestors were Salazar Slytherin and Cadmus Peverell, demands such respect!"

Lorion nodded his head. He already read his grandmother's diary and knew that the Malfoy family has always been loyal to the House of Gaunt, even going as far as supporting Voldemort unconditionally just because he was suspected to be a relative of the Gaunt. Though, it couldn't be denied that they had their own interests in mind. However, Lorion had no such desire of being puppet to others!

"Do you want me to be another Dark Lord, advocating the pure blood theory of my ancestors?"

Malfoy was astounded at this question, and then replied "Surely, this world needs purification from the muggles. With your status master, I can assure you that more and more pure bloods would join your banner and we can surely achieve what even the Dark Lord has failed!"

Lorion shook his head in denial and even seemed upset at Lucius's answer. To clear Lucius' confusion, Lorion explained to him.

"Mr. Malfoy, do you know when can one be superior? It is only possible when there is someone inferior. For the Pure Blood families to remain superior, the existence of muggles is necessary. Moreover, don't you understand, the amount of mugblood wizards are a lot more than that of us Pure Blood? It is a general trend that cannot be denied. The option available to us Pure Blood have always been limited. What we can do is expand our influence, try to gain more benefits for our families and continue their survival, rather than fighting for baseless pride!"
