Welcome, to Jurassic- ahem! to Hogwarts!

"Ah, where are my manners, my name is Alaric Reinhardt, heir to the House of Reinhardt, a pleasure." He said almost robotically as he has done this too many times to care

As Hermoine heard Alaric's introduction, she suddenly froze in place, Harry and Ron were looking at her like she was a freak while Alaric was having himself a nice chuckle

"Y-You're the heir to THE House of Reinhardt!" she exclaimed in childish wonder and awe

"I-I have read so many things about your family, l-like how your ancestor and namesake, Alaric I, bound your families blood to dragons, and how Baldric III led a war party against a group of dark wizards in the 6th century and how Frederik "the Hero of Hogwarts" beat back Ranrok and helped quell the goblin rebellion!"

As Hermoine was spiraling down into a tizzy, Alaric, who had by now had his fun seeing the girl sputter at the mere mention of his family, decided to wake her out of her stupor.

"Hermoine. Hermoine!" Alaric loudly said to grab the girl's attention after failing once

"U-Um, s-sorry." She said with an embarrassed tone

"Wait, how do you know my name, I never introduced myself?" Hermoine asked with slight confusion

"Your collar says your name." Alaric pointed out the upturned collar that had "Hermoine" written upon it with a wry smile

"Oh, right." She sheepishly replied

"Hey Alaric, you never explained why you were laughing at Ron's spell, from my point of view, it worked didn't it?" Harry asked after remembering how this whole encounter started

"Oh that, well, are you sure that his spell truly worked?"

"Huh?" the three of them let out before they turned to the fat rat on Ron's lap as it turned back to normal

"What happened, I never canceled the spell?" Ron blurted out confused

"Your spell never worked Ronald, see." As Alaric said that, he pointed a finger toward the rat bastard and a dim light flew out from his finger to the rat and upon contact changed its color to that of yellow

"Wicked!" Ron exclaimed

"How did you do that? Wandless casting should be highly advanced!" Hermoine yelled in utter shock

"Magic," Alaric said while doing jazz hands as sparks flew out from them

Seeing his display, the not-yet-golden trio just deadpanned Alaric who coughed once and went back to sitting properly

"Tough crowd," Alaric mumbled as he looked out the window

"Have either two of you tried any other spells?" Hermoine asked back to her haughty tone seeing the two of them shake their head, although harry had tried a couple they all backfired in his face so he was too embarrassed to say otherwise. Ron, despite being a pureblood and being allowed to do magic at home, had never attempted it due to his mother's strict rules, and out of fear of Ginny further making fun of him.

"Figures, well, I've only tried a few simple ones myself, but they've all worked for me," Hermoine said with a proud tone

Hermoine proceeded to walk into the compartment and sat next to Alaric as she pulled out her wand and pointed it at Harry's glasses that were taped due to him breaking them during one of his failed spell attempts.

"For example, Oculus Reparo." She said

As she finished the spell, the tape of Harry's glasses came off and in their place was a fixed nose bridge. "That's better, isn't it," Hermoine said

After seeing her showing of magic, Ron's eyes grew wide as he chewed on the chocolate he had stuffed in his mouth prior.

"Apologies for the late introduction, I'm Hermoine Granger, a pleasure."

"Well bravo Ms. Granger, I must say, for being so new to magic you sure have the basics down pat," Alaric said with a light clap

Hearing his applause, Hermoine's ears turned red as she looked away.

"I'm Harry Potter, thank you for fixing my glasses, Sirius said that he would've done it but I needed to learn not to try to cast bombarda as my first spell."

"And I'm Ron Weasely," Ron said with his face still stuffed with sweets

"A pleasure," Hermoine replied to him with slight disgust

"Holy cricket, are you truly the boy who lived? I've seen so many things about you, you're almost as famous as Alaric's family." Hermoine said with excitement at seeing another famous child

"Almost huh," Harry muttered

"Did you say something?" Alaric asked with a sly grin

"No."

"You three better change into your robes, I expect we'll be arriving soon," Hermoine said as she got up, however, she stopped dead in her tracks as she witnessed Alaric wave his hand and his clothes transfigured into the school robes.

"W-What, h-how did-

All Alaric did as the girl stammered with give her a slight smile, she eventually regained her bearings and walked out of the compartment, not without sparing Alaric another glance with a slight blush.

Before she crossed the door, however, she looked back at Ron. "You've got dirt on your nose by the way, did you know? just there," she said as she pointed to her nose at the same spot Ron had dirt.

After Hermoine was gone, Ron turned back to Harry and voiced his dislike for the girl. "Wow, she sure is stuck up, I mean, how can she be a muggle-born and exude a similar attitude to Malfoy?"

Hearing what Ron said, Alaric couldn't help but let out an amused snort remembering the blonde bastard and his cuck of a father.

"Is something funny?" Ron asked with a glare

"Oh no, it's nothing, I was just remembering a certain ferret and his annoying father."

--Later, Hogsmeade Station--

The train had only taken a short while longer before it reached the ultimate destination, and when it did, it came to a screeching halt as it deployed the brakes.

Walking along the side of the train, a large man, almost as tall as the train, could be seen holding a lantern, this man of course being Hagrid who came to fetch the first years.

"Right then, firs' years, this way please, c'mon now, firs' years don't be shy, c'mon now, hurry up!" Hagrid exclaimed to all of the bustling little first years who stepped off the train

As the kids walked toward Hagrid, Alaric stepped off the train and walked next to Hermoine as Harry and Ron waddled over to Hagrid to greet the gentle half-giant.

Alaric walked next to Hermoin in silence for a moment just observing everything and everyone, getting off of the train he could see Seamus Finnigan, Neville Longbottom, and even his second cousin Daphne Greengrass and her friend Tracy Davis.

"So, Hermoine, what other spells have you learned?" Alaric couldn't help but ask in curiosity to see just how far the little muggle-born had gotten

"Well, as you saw in the train, I've learned Reparo, I've also learned Incendio, that is what sent my parents into quite the tizzy, I've also got the incantation for Wingardium Leviosa memorized but I've yet to accomplish it." She said with some pride

"Oh, you were able to do magic at home, I'm surprised the ministry didn't get you," Alaric said with a chuckle thinking about the incompetent idiots who run Magical Britain.

"Oh heavens no, I would never break a ministry rule, I tried to spell under the supervision of Professor McGonagall when she took me to Diagon Alley," Hermoine said with an offended look at the mere notion of breaking rules

As the two were walking and talking, Harry and Ron had already reached Hagrid.

"Hey, Hagrid." Harry greeting. In this world, although Harry was raised by Sirius, he was still brought to Diagon Alley by Hagrid due to Sirius being busy with work, Regulus had offered to take Harry but had to rescind that offer shortly after due to his son Arcturus III, who was two years younger than Alaric, falling ill.

As Ron gazed up at Hagrids imposing height, he could only let out one word. "Woah!"

after greeting Harry back, Hagrid motioned for the kids to follow him "Alright then, this way to the boats, c'mon then, follow me." the lumbering half-giant said as he walked away

"Woooah, he's huge!" Hermoine could help but exclaim at seeing Hagrid for the first time.

"Haha, he sure is, you know why?" Seeing her shake her head Alaric was surprised to see she didn't know about giants yet. "Well, Hagrid is half-giant." seeing the young girl's innocent awe at giants being real brought a small smile to Alaric's face

Soon after following Hagrid, the cames came to a dock where all of the boats were waiting idly for their occupants to board.

"Firs' years, no more than four to a boat, or else I'll tip ya over," Hagrid said followed by a booming jovial laugh after seeing the scared faces of the little kids.

"he's not serious, is he?" Hermoine couldn't help but nudge Alaric and ask. "Haha, not of course not, I think." He replied while smiling wryly at Hermione's paling face.

As the two boarded an empty boat, Harry and Ron soon came up to them and asked to ride with them, Alaric ushered them to come in and they boarded and took off with the other boats led by Hagrid.

The First years' boats kept following Hagrid as they finally neared the magnificent castle that they would call home for the better part of seven years.

Many kids let out words of awe and shock, including Harry, Ron, and Hermoine who had eyes that were twinkling like stars filled with awe and admiration.

Although he had seen, MANY different wonders and structures all across the world, even Alaric had to admit that the sight was beautiful.

"Woooow! I read that this castle was built by a mysterious architect around a thousand years ago!" Hermoine said with emphasis on the thousand years part.

"Oh, you mean Antonin Reinhardt, yeah, he was a distant relative of mine from a now-extinct branch line that lived in England during the founding of Hogwarts, I chanced upon some of his old diaries and plans for the school while exploring the family library," Alaric said nonchalantly as if he didn't just drop one of the biggest bombs ever on the young studious girl.

"REALLY! Please, you have to let me read some of those diaries, please!" Hermoine said while almost begging Alaric

Getting a little fed up with the girl's incessant begging, Alaric folded and agreed to her request and said he'd owl his grandfather to ask to borrow them and lend them to her, While Hermoine begging at first was rather amusing to him, Alaric quickly lost his amusement and caved, it's not like he wasn't going to lend them to her anyways.

--later--

The boats had finally docked and the eager first years were all excitedly walking toward the entrance and climbing the stairwell as they talked about the sorting ceremony, Ron even said something about fighting a troll which Alaric corroborated just to watch the chaos unfold, and he wasn't disappointed.

As the now calmer children reached the top of the staircase, they were met by a stern-looking woman who was adorned with emerald robes and a matching witches hat.

"Welcome to Hogwarts, now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates, but, before you can take your seats, you must be sorted, into your houses.
