24 Charms Class

Authors note:

Hey everyone, sorry for such a long time in between releases, due to it being the end of the school year, I have had a few final projects and exams to finish and just other distractions in general, *cough* Crusader Kings 3 *cough* so yeah, sorry. I'm going to try to get back to writing but I'm feeling the effects of writer's block/procrastination/laziness, so yeah pray for me or something I guess lol. Plus I just got a new job and I have been given mostly the closing shifts so I don't really have as much free time in my hands as a used to, although the releases might slow down to who knows what, I'm not going to drop this story don't worry, I have ideas already made for books/movies 1-4 so I've got plenty of material, I just need to put fingers to keyboard.

I also wanted to let yall know that I'm seriously thinking about rewriting the early chapters, something like 1-5 or so. like every other amateur writer who only does this for fun, it took me a short bit to really get my footing with this story, and now that I have, I would like to think these later chapters, 6 or 7-now, have been leagues better. The reason why is because of all of the people whining and commenting complaints on the first few chapters, while they're not wrong, it just gets exhausting and annoying to read those. So having said that I'll let y'all know when the rewrite is done so you can go back and reread them if you wish to.

And finally, I wanted to let you all know that I will be speeding up the pace of the story as i have found it to be a little slow and I feel that is what brought on my writer's block. So yeah, i can't wait to get this story into full swing!

-------------------------------------------

As the students settled down after the short bit of theoretical magic lecture that Professor Half-Pint gave them, Flitwick swiftly moved on toward the practical part of today's lesson, and that was, learning one of the least useful spells, Wingardium Leviosa.

Well, it's not useless per se, it's just not very useful for a bunch of first-years who haven't even learned how to cast levioso, the easier version, much less any other semi-advanced spells.

Despite what you may think, Wingardium Leviosa is actually a decently advanced spell that can be used in all facets of life, however, most if not all of those prime uses get picked up and viciously thrown out the window when in the hands of a small child who has barely if at all, learned any magic, of which all first years are such children

Tirade aside, Flitwick stood back atop his stack of books and began his opening words and lecture before he left the children to their own devices to try and learn the spell

"One of a wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation, or, the ability to make objects fly." the half-goblin said with some excitement in his squeaky voice along with jovial hand movements

"Do you children all have your feathers?" seeing the children either nod their heads information or, in Hermione's case, lift the feather and showcase it to Flitwick, the former dueling champion moved on.

"Now uh, don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practicing, just swish and flick, now, everyone, do try it a few times for me," Flitwick said as he demonstrated the wand movement that the children had done at the beginning of class as a warm-up before the theoretical part of the lesson.

And with that being said the class began their attempts at casting the simple spell, as expected, most of the young wizards and witches were unable to replicate the spell within their first few tries.

'What should I do after class today? Hmm, decisions, decisions.' Alaric thought as he nonchalantly waved his wand and the feather floating into the air he waved it around for a few moments as Flitwick bounced with excitement and awarded the young wizard with another ten points.

As he did that, Alaric could overhear the redhead idiot and Hermione have their little spat just like it was depicted in the movie and books.

--After Chamrs Class, walking through the Halls of Hogwarts--

It had been a few minutes since Alaric had left the charms classroom after evading Hermione who had way too many questions than he would like to even entertain.

As he wandered through the halls of the castle he decided on where he wanted to go, and that was.

The Room of Requirement.

Also known as the Come and Go Room, was a secret room within Hogwarts Castle, that only appeared when a person was in great need of it.

The room had the unique ability to provide or transform itself into anything that a witch or wizard required of it at that moment in time. Because of this, it was thought to have some degree of sentience. Although there were some limitations; for example, it could not create food, as that is one of the five Principal Exceptions to Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration.

It was believed that the room was Unplottable, as it did not appear on the Marauder's Map nor did its occupants, although this could simply be because James Potter, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and in this universe, Alaric's uncle Osric Reinhardt, never found the room.

However, just because a group of rag-tag miscreants couldn't plot it didn't mean that the room was impossible to plot on a map, and Alaric had half a mind to prove that theory.

After a small bit more walking, he finally reached his destination.

The room was located on the seventh floor in the left corridor of the Hogwarts castle and had a hidden entrance opposite the tapestry depicting the attempt of Barnabas the Barmy to teach trolls ballet. The way to open the room was to walk past it three times while thinking about what one needed, and the door would appear.

The Room of Requirement, true to its name, was able to provide anything that one required of it or transform itself into anything that one required of it. For example, when Harry Potter needed a place where he and his allies could study Defence Against the Dark Arts, the room was filled with multiple books on defensive magic and various training equipment upon their entrance.

However, it was advised that the users of this room be very specific about what they were looking for, as it had been shown that other people could enter the room and see what the occupant was doing if they knew how the room was being used. The Inquisitorial Squad found the hideout of Dumbledore's Army in 1996 by knowing that the D.A. was in the room at the time. Neville Longbottom used this knowledge to create his hideout, as he specifically asked that the hideout be made unavailable to those who supported Alecto and Amycus Carrow.

Keeping what he knew in mind, Alaric commenced the act of walking past it three times and thought of a loft that was undetectable by even the likes of Dumbledore, which would normally be impossible, he was however, assuming someone other than he attempted to create such a room.

Alaric wanted the loft to be fairly spacious and have a decent-sized library of not only magic books but any other kinds of literature it could find, on the second floor of the loft he wanted there to be a nice large bed where he could nap and even sleep for the night on.

One of the final touches was to add a large Beast Vivarium, reminiscent of what his distant relative Frederik Reinhardt did during his time at Hogwarts in the late 19th century.

The way he created his vivarium was Alaric had conjured a small box that he transfigured into a beautiful and ornate glass house that had some grass and tiny trees inside, once his miniature creation was finished, he opened a large space that led out from the main area of the loft he created and placed the small vivarium and enlarged it to the point that it was around one hundred acres large, ample space for his furry friends to explore and live in during his stay at the castle.

Once the newly enlarged vivarium was stabilized, Alaric opened his suitcase and unleashed the beasts into their new home.

The first to hop out of the suitcase was Sigurd who had now grown to around the size of a Border Collie, putting him around 52cm in height, weighing in at 20kg and 80cm in length from the tip of his tail to his snout.

although a good size for something like a house dog, Sigurd was still only a few months old and still a puppy, so you can get an idea of how large he will be once fully matured in a year or two, which is slightly faster than a non-magical wolf.

Following Sigurd out of the suitcase, were the two Griffins Alaric had acquired at the Felern Auction house, since then he had named both of them, the male being Ezekial, who was mostly a dark grey almost black in color, and the female Ariel who had your generic Griffin coloring.

As he had suspected, the two of them were indeed mates and it wasn't long before he stumbled upon a clutch of three eggs in their nest one day a few weeks ago, speaking of, Alaric was currently floating said eggs to a new nest he prepared for the family.

After the Griffin family was nestled into their new abode, the herd of Hippogriffs was the next to come out of their suitcase home.

At first, Alaric only had Onyx, his jet-black Hippogriff, but after the auction, he acquired five more and since then has bought four more, that's right, four not five, the reason being, one of the five Hippogriffs he bought from the auction, had become the mate of Onyx, she was named by Alaric and now goes by Aurelia.

When the Hippogriffs came out of the suitcase, Alaric was, to say the least, astonished when he caught sight of Onyx proudly carrying an egg on his back, somehow keeping it from falling.

Although he was taken aback at first, Alaric was happy for his friend and companion at the fact he was about to become a father.

Lastly, once the Hippogriffs had made their way to their new home somewhere in the vast plains of the vivarium, the last one of the creatures that Alaric kept in the suitcase came out.

If anyone else was in the room with him, they would be surprised and confused at the sight in front of them.

Alaric who was currently looking at his outstretched arm with a warm smile, had the eyes of a dragon, bright golden in color, and almost glowing as his pupils took the slit-shaped form of a draconic eye.

Although others would be confused, Alaric wasn't in the slightest, as he was using an ability that has passed through his bloodline since Alaric I, and that was the [Draconic Eyes] an ability that gives the Reinhardt's the power to see through things others couldn't and to see magic at its purest form, along with enhanced eyesight and other bonuses.

Currently climbing atop his arm and going to his shoulder was Dearan, the Demiguise he had bought and rescued from the Felern Auction house alongside the other creatures mentioned.

After a short while of playing and petting the Demiguise, Alaric showed him to his accommodation, which, instead of being in the vivarium, was back in the loft next to his bed.

Alaric knowing the clingy tendency of Dearan had decided to create a small little bed area for the Demiguise that was situated atop a shelf next to Alaric's bed.

And with the beasts situated in their new homes for the time being, Alaric moved on to another room he willed to be made that connection to the main loft area, this large room was about 30 meters in length and 15 meters in width, or, about the same size as an average basketball court.

In this new large room, Alaric set up multiple different dummies that served different purposes, some were plain dummies used for testing spells against, while others were dummies that cast different levels of protego, used for testing the power of a spell, and the last few were given wands that could shoot out an array of spells to help with honing the use of protego and dodging.

Although powerful in pure unbridled magic power, Alaric still needed to get used to his childlike body after such a long time, just as he has done in lives past.

"It's all come together, perfect," Alaric said to himself in satisfaction over his creation

Authors note:

I'm thinking of starting a Teen Wolf story but that one will update maybe twice a week since this story will have my full attention, so let me know what you all think about that, and don't worry I won't drop this story in favor of the new one if I decided to go forward with it.

Make sure to comment, drop those power stones, and drop a review if you like the story so far!
