7 7/ The Truth

I thought about it for the next whole day. Maybe Voldemort used a vicious spell to kill her because he knew it was hard to attack her directly with the necklace or maybe he even tried and failed.

Perhaps my mother protected Lilly because she was the target of Voldemort and Voldemort had to kill her in order to be able to kill the boy of the prophecy. It make sense but there is only one person in this school who can confirm my thought.

" In the end I'll have to talk to him, the mighty Albus Dumbledore, but if I want the truth I have no choice "

I was going to the office just after receiving the password from McGonagall when Ron intercepted me half way, apparently he was always angry.

" I'm sure you just played with Harry in order to become his friends ! "

" Not really, I already told him all he wanted to say by the way you can continue to be lovey dovey

with him now " I replied sarcastically

" Don't mock me I know you are up to something I will watch you " he said with a red face

" Yeah yeah if you want " I started coming closer to him and while putting a hand on his shoulder I said :

" But if you think you can harm me or my friends without consequence you are wrong so I suggest you to focus more on the slytherins than me if you value your life Ron " and I left for Dumbledore's office letting a Ron with a pale face.

Before going to the office I turned my head to Letha ( in her cat form ) and said to her " you can't come with me he will see through your disguise and I don't want to explain me "

" As if someone could see through this amazing body of mine, miaou " she said and tried to meow miserably but she stayed here nonetheless.

I entered and the headmaster stopped to write as soon as I arrived and asked " What can I do for you my child ? "

" I came to seek the truth, Headmaster, about my mother's death and Harry's mother death " I said looking at him intensely in the eyes and he stared at him in return searching probably to pierce my mind in order to see what I already know and what he can hide from me I presumed.

We stayed like that for one minute before he sighed and said " Well I knew it would happen one day but I have to concede that you came for that sooner than expected "

" First I would like to know if my mother was killed by Voldemort and second if she was killed because she protected Lilly Potter "

" It's not totally exact I think the best is to tell you the entire story. Voldemort wanted to kill Harry because of a prophecy which said that this boy will kill him in the future so Harry's parent decided to hide from Voldemort and your mother helped them to hide delaying the Dark Lord herself with her husband but even though they succeed to delay him your mother happened to be touched by a curse very complicated which has the effect to kill her the moment she will give birth.

" Wait ! What about the necklace ? " I said without thinking and bit my tongue for this mistake I should really control my feelings sometimes

" Ah the famous necklace, don't worry my boy I knew already its existence after all your mother used it very much during her school years but you see this necklace has many default if you want my opinion because it won't work twice and people learn usually from their mistakes. Moreover the user always relied on this artifact and had the wrong habit to believe they can't die during a battle.

It's an habit you have to never take my boy because you know the consequences now "

" Did my mother knew about the effect of the curse ? and my father ? " I asked trying to understand the whole story

" Your mother came to me without your father so I supposed she wanted to hide this from him as long as she didn't know the effect and she didn't tell me what she wanted to do after I told her the effect, after all she was already pregnant so she knew her death was near. " He said

" I need to talk to my father if I want to know I guess, thank you Professor " I replied and turned to leave but he stopped me

" Wait a second I wanted to tell you that your mother, after I explained to her the effect, only asked me one thing and when I told her she didn't have to worry about that she showed me the brightest smile I've ever seen "

" What was her question ? " I said waiting patiently for his answer

" Will my baby be alright or will he die with me ? " he said " that was her words exactly I remember this scene like it was yesterday " he added

" Thank you for telling me Headmaster " I said and left the office

I decided to go for a walk outside in order to tidy my mind a bit because it was such a mess right now. I told Letha to go chase some beasts in the dark forest because I wanted to be alone for a moment. I arrived at the lake, sat on a bench and looked at my necklace remembering what Dumbledore said

" I can't be overconfident when facing danger, in a few years if I make a mistake it'll be my life or my friend's life I could lose " I thought starting to realize that this world is not as funny as I could think during these years. I lost myself in thought about way to power myself more in order to be able to face the dark years we are all destined to see.

" Okay stop thinking and start acting " I said closing the notebook where I wrote my battle plan for the upcoming war.

" First step : Find the Room of Requirement and use it to train myself first and my friends in the future " I added full of determination and came back to the school to eat my dinner and sleep

Today is the Special day when the guest will speak about magical beasts, I'm very excited and can't wait anymore.

We, first years, were all in the main hall, converted into a classroom for the occasion, waiting for the expected guest to show his face.

Suddenly a sturdy man who was very familiar to me entered and sit in front of us looking especially at me and said " Hello I'm Mr Langold, even though some of you know me already, I'm here today to talk about magical creatures and even show you some of them but only if you behave. "

What a great timing, just when I have to talk to him " I thought, a wry smile beginning to form on my face
