45 Chapter 45: Alaric's Quidditch Training

Early the next morning, the news of Alaric single-handedly defeating a troll spread throughout Hogwarts.

Most young wizards praised Alaric's formidable magical abilities, with some older students acknowledging that even they would find it challenging.

However, a few jealous older students dismissed the incident, considering a mere troll to be inconsequential.

Slytherin's Draco Malfoy, in front of his two lackeys, even called the troll's presence a "conspiracy by that mudblood."

That evening, he received a good knock on the head—according to his own recollection, he was hit by a ball with clockwork.

Additionally, in this incident, Professor Quirrell completely lost his reputation. As the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, he was frightened unconscious by the troll, while a student, Alaric, defeated it.

At this moment, everyone recalled Alaric's earlier assessment of Professor Quirrell. Everyone began to admire his foresight—Professor Quirrell was indeed a superficial guy.

Alaric, combining the tactics of Muggle football, basketball, and aerial combat, designed many attacking and defensive tactics for Ravenclaw, far surpassing the team's existing strategies. Even in the Quidditch World Cup, there weren't many teams that could present more advanced tactics.

This impressed the Ravenclaw players, and they believed that even after Alaric graduated, whether he joined the Auror Office as a Hit Wizard or stayed at Hogwarts as a professor (which they thought was the best option after graduation), he would shine in Quidditch matches and become a legendary player or coach.

Roger even directly appointed Alaric as the next captain of the Ravenclaw team.

In reality, Alaric had already become the de facto captain of Ravenclaw: he designed tactics, arranged training sessions, and took command during matches—all tasks of a captain.

Nevertheless, Roger, who was dethroned, welcomed this change. Ravenclaw hadn't won the Quidditch Cup for several years, and now Alaric could lead them to redeem themselves. As the former captain, Roger was pleased with the prospect.

Thus, aside from basic exercises, the Ravenclaw Quidditch team devoted all their time to mastering these new tactics. To ensure the effectiveness of the new tactics, they even formulated a secrecy plan, enlisting other Ravenclaw students to patrol near the Quidditch pitch during their training, dispersing anyone who approached to prevent information leaks.

To fully exploit the advantages of these tactics, Alaric designed a set of gestures for communication. Besides training, the players would quiz each other in the Ravenclaw common room to ensure a complete understanding of the gestures.

In Alaric's plan, he intended to mold the Ravenclaw team into a disciplined unit—similar to the NBA's San Antonio Spurs.

Although his ultimate goal in this world was to master the rules of magic, and Quidditch was just a hobby, he believed that even in a hobby, one should strive for excellence when the opportunity arises. That was his attitude.

Now, all the members of the Ravenclaw team were eagerly anticipating the upcoming Quidditch Cup. They couldn't wait to shine and redeem themselves.
