9 First Week in Hogworts
Though every door in Slytherin is equipped with a protective charm on the door, it only offers basic forms of securities. In this snake-pit people do everything to survive, so they cannot be only satisfied with some basic protective charm, and they upgrade the charm placed on the door into an intermediate or higher form of the charm.
I don't know any advanced charm, Amelia only taught me how to cast basic and few intermediate charms. I quickly replaced the door with an intermediate charm and added an alarming charm in the doorknob. It will quickly tell me when anyone tries to enter my room without my permission.
Laying down on the bed. I pondered on my choice of getting into a Slytherin house.
Even though I had plans to stay under the radar of everyone but, part of my plan includes being involved in the Slytherin house. Why? Slytherin is the only house which sheltered many pure-blood Wizards and Witches.
Even half-blood is rare in this house, Being pure blood means being part of a prominent family. These families have existed since the age of Merlin. They perceived and lived through many rainy and stormy years in the Wizarding World, and some of them, like black family, even kept all the accumulation of knowledge through the centuries intact.
Now I have seven years in my hand to get on with their wealth and knowledge. But I need to be cautious on my part without raising any suspicions. If anyone realises my plan of getting close to a pure-blood Wizarding family and getting their accumulated knowledge, it will cause great trouble for me.
Why is contacting other families to get their knowledge, cause me trouble? Yeah. Every dark lord did the same, and they were noticed by others before even they got hands-on what they wanted. People called them as dark lords, it's not for killing innocents or wreaking havoc, it's because they hoard knowledge which gathered over centuries. It caused their downfall.
Even Voldemort aka Tom Riddle only got his hands on the Lestrange family before the Wizarding world branded him as a dark lord.
I needed to be very meticulous on my part, though people look like nothing unusual happened, of myself being sorted into a Slytherin house. They are keeping an eye on me. They are assessing me to find what my standing will be until they get the answers, they will likely watch all my activities.
I know it will be a great hassle, but I need to endure it and keep my act. I cannot stand out even the slightest. Why? There aren't many pure-blood families on the Dumbledore side. Most of them are neutral, or they join the dark side. I'm the wizard of the pure-blood family, and now I am sorted in the Slytherin house. A house that doesn't support or side with Dumbledore's plans and activities.
I am a member of a pureblood Wizarding family and my mother is Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and she holds a seat on the Wizengamot.
I will hold a lot of power in the future, so they need to know my stance regarding light and dark magic. Even if I pick a side, it will put me in a lot of scrutinies.
Thinking about all these, I drifted into my sleep.
After taking a bath and wearing a new set of robes, I am ready to face my first day in Hogwarts. I marched my way to the great hall, which is the only place you can eat food in Hogwarts. When I entered the hall it was crowded with students of all year sitting on the respective table of their houses.
Susan and Hannah are sitting at the Hufflepuff table with their newly made friends. On the right of the Gryffindor table, I saw Ron Weasley who was gauging the food like a starved animal, and Harry who sat by his side. I don't know anyone in the Ravenclaw table,
But on the Slytherin side, it seems Draco is already trying to show his dominance by forming a group.
After having my fill, I went to the notice board to see the newly published first-year time-table. I noticed Hermione was there, copying the time-table on the paper, but I didn't approach her, because I will have another chance. Right now she was brainwashed as Slytherin's are evil by her housemate, so if I approach her now she will have her guard against me
I silently took notice of the time-table and left,
Monday: Potions, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Charms
Tuesday: Potions, History of Magic, Herbology, transfiguration
Wednesday: Double Potions, Charms, Magical Theory, Magical Theory
Thursday: Defence Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Transfiguration, Flying
Friday: Herbology, History of Magic, Charms, Magical Theory
Saturday: Potions, Potions, Transfiguration, Transfiguration
A week has already passed since the sorting, everyone has settled down on their houses and made some new friends. Well, I wanted to be left alone, at least for the first semester, since people are keeping an eye on me. But how can it happen as you wish?
Draco already approached me to join his gang, he started to behave like an arrogant prick after getting a few followers. But I refused him outright, so he wanted to show his might before his gang. He blocked my path in the Slytherin common room
"Are you sure you want to do this Draco?" I questioned him.
" What do you mean?" Draco smirked arrogantly
"You need to learn how your actions will affect everyone, Draco," I advised him.
He just looks blankly at me waiting for me to explain.
"Well you do understand your father is the former death eater"
"H was under the imperius curse and the court cleared him" Draco yelled at me
" Now look, what your father will do, when his business is seized by the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, all because his son who couldn't behave himself" He just twelve years he can't understand everything, so I explained to him the consequence of his action.
"You wouldn't do that" his eyes widened at the realisation of his action
" Of course not, Draco now if you excuse me I happen to lack sleep" I pushed Draco to the side and went into my room with a smile.
That would put him in his place, he will think twice before approaching me, but he hasn't done anything after that. After all, he got father issues, he doesn't want to disappoint his father, so it went well.
Draco is a weak-willed kid, after all, he readily joined death eaters.
He is after all important pawn, I need him to be obedient. This will help him not act like big shit, I need to slowly raise him as an obedient puppet. He got Malfoy family's at his back, and his father hold important ministries and Hogwarts board.
Daphne and Tracey approach me during my time in the library. They also formed some neutral groups among other first years and asked me if I want to join them.
I refused them politely, saying "I just wanted to study and learn magic and joining any group hinders my progress."
"If You don't join any group, people from other groups will harass you," she explained to me worriedly.
"Yeah I know Draco already tried"
"Draco, that pricks what did he do to you?" She demanded answers from me.
" Nothing after I refused to join him, I just explained to him some result of his action that he will face, if he tried anything, and then he left me alone"
Daphne looked at me in a daze, and from then she also joined me in my studying session in the library when she had time. She also enjoys reading books, so she didn't disturb me as much as I thought it would be and it was a bit fun. It also changed our relationship from acquaintance to friends. once I had her trust, I can just learn legilimency with her, but it will need some work.
Amelia wrote to me on the second day when she heard that I had been sorted into the Slytherin house. She also mentioned that if I tried to bully me or anything she will support me, do everything in her power. But I don't know what she did, everyone kept away from me, which also worked in my favour.
Susan hasn't contacted me since she joined Hufflepuff, I already told her I won't be joining her in the Hufflepuff. I gave her a mission to befriend Nymphadora Tonks a seventh-year witch in Hufflepuff. I also told her not to contact me unless it's urgent which is why she hasn't contacted me yet, other than occasionally glancing me at the great hall, or if we had a class together.
I only have a year before tonks graduate and use it fully to learn how to use Metamorphmagus ability. She is the only well-known Metamorphmagus of this era,
Well, Harry is a partial Metamorphmagus who can only control his hair.
Learning from her will be more helpful than learning from books.
Like this, my first week in Hogwarts passed rather peacefully.
