15 Chapter 15: The Lineup with Snape

At exactly nine o'clock, Professor Snape in a black robe appeared at the door of the classroom on time.

He strode in, the wind was blowing under his feet, and the hem of his robe fluttered in the wind behind his back.

Alvin suspects the professor is wearing the same robe he wore the last time he visited his House. In other words, all his clothes are the same.

Snape passed by the crowd coldly, without speaking, he walked straight to the podium and glanced at the students of the three Houses present.

Among them, it stayed on Alvin for three seconds, and then on Harry for five seconds.

Snape didn't speak, opened the roll call, and started the roll call.

His voice was magnetic, a little deep. And revealing a deep indifference, he spoke the name at a gentle pace.

But it always sounded sarcastic.

Finally, he pronounced Alvin's name.

He didn't say anything, just stared at Alvin for a few seconds, Alvin didn't look away, and looked directly at Snape. But there was still a little more apology in his eyes.

When Snape went to guide him as a freshman, he thought he would go to Slytherin, but he didn't expect Alvin to be so disrespectful. Alvin was a little embarrassed about that, too.

After all, he hated the atmosphere of Slytherin, not Snape, Head of Slytherin.

Maybe he understood the message that Alvin wanted to convey in his eyes. Snape didn't say much and continued to roll names.

Then, he pronounced Harry's name. It stopped again.

"Oh yes," he whispered, "Harry Potter, this is our new--big name."

"Pfft!"

Alvin turned his head, and Draco Malfoy and his two entourages were covering their mouths and laughing.

Seeing Alvin turn his head, he glared at him not wanting to lose. Alvin ignored it, and let Harry love and hate with him, he couldn't be bothered to pay attention to this arrogant child.

Harry's sudden targeting made him uncomfortable, but what he didn't know was that it was just the beginning. Worse days are yet to come.

Snape ignored the farce under the stage, and said slowly to all the little wizards:

"You are here to learn the precise skill and rigorous craftsmanship of this potion preparation, and since there are no foolish wands here, many of you will not believe it is magic."

"I don't expect you to understand the beauty of that simmering cauldron with white smoke and bursts of fragrance, you don't understand the fluid that flows into people's blood vessels, the kind of ecstasy and blurred will. Magical power...I can teach you how to increase your prestige, brew glory, and even prevent death!"

A burst of very bewitching words came out of Snape's mouth. Haven't waited for everyone to fully appreciate it.

He suddenly spoke again.

"Potter! Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

Harry was dumbfounded.

What is Asphodel? What is Wormwood? Who I am?

Harry didn't answer, just stared blankly at Snape, while Hermione, who was not far away, raised her right-hand high. Too bad Snape ignored her.

Alvin admired this scene, which can be described as the beginning of the feud between the two. From then on, Snape and Harry began to love and hate each other.

But hear these three questions.

Alvin remembered an analysis by some great gods in his previous life.

Snape's three questions have deeper implications.

The most obvious is that the asphodel was used to make medicines According to Victorian flower language, the asphodel is a type of lily meaning "my regrets follow you to the grave" and wormwood means "absence" and also typically symbolizes bitter sorrow. If you combined that, Snape's words mean "I bitterly regret Lily's death".

It's hard for Alvin to imagine Snape looking at that Potter's face, Lily's eyes (Harry looks very similar to his father James Potter, and his eyes are the same as his mother's.), and what kind of emotion.

Hatred of James Potter, who bullied himself at school? Or the guilt that he leaked information that led to Lily's death?

Thinking of this, Alvin looks at Snape, with a little more pity and sympathy.

Snape caught Alvin's eyes, he didn't understand what Alvin was thinking, and the look in his eyes changed, but that look made him feel a little uncomfortable.

As if Alvin was sympathetically looking at a puppy.

Snape rolled his eyes, stared at Alvin, and spoke coldly.

"Mr. Gaunt, it's up to you to answer these questions."

Alvin was stunned at first, but he didn't expect that he would be asked to answer. But he quickly reacted and answered.

"added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood, and you will get the water of life and death, which is a powerful sleeping pill. The bezoar should be taken out of the stomach of the goat. And the monkshood and wolfsbane refer to the same plant, collectively referred to as aconite."

Alvin answered three questions in one go and then smiled to please Professor Snape.

Snape didn't expect it. Not only did this kid answer him, but he provoked him.

Without stopping, Snape asked again.

"What kind of potions can moonstone be used for?"

"Draught of Peace Potion, but it needs to be ground into powder."

"What's the biggest difference between Draught of Peace Potion and Sleeping Draught Potion?

"The Draft of Peace Potion has a much stronger effect, lasts longer, and is difficult to make."

The rest of the little wizards in the audience opened their mouths wide, watching the questions and answers between the two. Everyone's scalp was tingling, and they all fell into the same state as Harry.

who I am? where am I? What the hell are these two talking about?

Snape took a deep breath and stopped asking questions. Said sarcastically.

"It is indeed the blood of the Gaunt family. These are not things you should learn now, but you are always ready to show them off."

Alvin is very speechless, you said that you didn't learn it now, then you still ask me what to do.

Snape saw it hard to target Alvin, and then turned his attention back to Harry.

"Did you hear that, Potter? It seems that not every little wizard who just entered school is as stupid and ignorant as you..."

"Look at other people's little wizards..."

"Professor, I..." Harry angrily prepared to retort, but it was a pity that Snape didn't give him a chance at all.

"Gryffindor deducts one point for your stupidity!"

Then Snape looked at Alvin.

"One point for Ravenclaw."

Then he spoke again.

"Remember to add, "Yes, Professor" next time you answer the question. Two points from Ravenclaw from your rudeness!"

Alvin didn't speak, knowing that anything he said now would just give Snape the chance to deduct his house points.

The rest of the little wizards in the audience didn't dare to breathe, but unfortunately, Snape didn't let them go.

"Why are you looking at my face? Is there anything I just said on my face? Move and write it down!"

After speaking, he was not relieved and followed another sentence.

"You guys are the worst class I've ever had!"
