38 Chapter 38: End of First Year (2)

William returned to the castle after finishing with the farewell of his friend Hagrid, it would be the last cup of tea that both could drink until the second year, for Hagrid it would be a calm summer but for William it would be different, a whole summer full of new possibilities, far from the plots of the official history, embarked on a totally different adventure.

As William walked down the long corridors he came across a familiar face, one he hadn't expected to see.

"Are you leaving already?" asked Cho Chang.

"like everyone else" replied William

Cho Chang smiled amicably and pulled out a packet of cookies "one of my classmates heard that you wouldn't be going home, truth be told we all know you were also on Harry and his friends adventures but no one understood why you didn't get points"

"I didn't want points" William admitted as if it was something normal.

"it was obvious, points for Gryffindor don't mean anything to you since the same ones don't benefit you in anything, I guess you asked for something different and now I know what your request was" the girl put the cookies in William's hands "they are chocolate chip, you won't be able to find this brand of cookies in Brazil"

"Does everyone know?" asked William

"Is it a secret?" at the girl's question, William nodded his head "then everyone in the castle will know, it won't be a surprise but you might be very popular next year"

"I doubt that's the reason, I am the little Death Eater after all."

Cho Chang gave the white-haired boy a tight hug "good luck" whispered the girl one last time before releasing William and running down the corridor in the opposite direction she came from.

William shook his head slowly, looked at the cookie and noticed the small note attached "Stimulating cookies for study eh..."

William's few and almost non-existent goodbyes were with his friends, Neville also gave William a hug, the white-haired boy for a moment tried to push him away but it was impossible to hate the boy, being this innocent was not Neville's fault plus William slowly felt that they could be friends in the future.

The next goodbye was a little more different from the usual ones and it was not like the others but a small lapse of time later when William was carrying his big suitcase on his back to meet the director at the agreed place for the trip.

"William" it was impossible for William not to know whose voice it was, as he turned his head there she was, the little girl who at some point became the idol of many young people in the real world "it's true what they all say, you're not going back home."

"did you really think I wasn't prepared?" asked William with a smile "life is simply a game once you know the necessary tricks. Have fun with your books at home."

There was nothing more to say, she and he knew it, neither of them were specifically the best to talk about feelings, friendship and the like, but they both shared only one thing in common. A love of knowledge.

Hermione looked at William's back, a small thin back with the dark school robes and white hair as a distinctive color, it wasn't common to see that color on a person's head.

When William was in front of Headmaster Dumbledore's office he couldn't help but stare at the gargoyles he had passed up earlier due to his nerves, both griffin gargoyles were impressive and in William's mind he formed the figure of Pruna with that stature, he was obviously excited but his expression didn't give it away.

"They are beautiful don't you think so William?"

When William looked to his side he found Professor Dumbledore who was also contemplating the gargoyles "In time the Griffin with you may also grow to that size but I'm afraid it won't be possible for it to be inside the school."

"Yes..." William nodded, he knew the headmaster at some point would mention it, it's a wonder he still didn't mention anything about Norberta, but he did know about the existence of the dragoness.

"I can see you already have all your belongings in their respective places, I guess it's time for us to leave, we have a long journey ahead of us" mentioned Professor Dumbledore making the gargoyles enable the passage to his office "we will use the visitor's entrance, Minister Fudge himself is waiting for us"

"oh... great" William feigned interest but was easily spotted by Dumbledore.

When they both arrived at the ministry it was a new surprise for William, he had never seen so many adult wizards in one place, the architecture was different from what he was used to, everything had a darker but more elegant tone.

Documents flying like paper airplanes from one side to the other, offices to the skies, sculptures in the most striking areas, chimneys everywhere, basically everything was new to William's eyes and when he realized he was alone in the middle of all the people, Dumbledore was nowhere to be seen, William could not help but be surprised but knowing the identity it was difficult to appear and not draw attention, luckily William was not a child either at least mentally.

After asking in a few places he was able to find the right address, it wasn't easy after all meeting with the minister was no small matter, but in the end he reached his goal, to use Dumbledore's name. Hogwarts and the Rosier family in the same sentence carried quite a bit of social weight.

When William entered Minister Fudge's office, he noticed four people inside, two women and two men.
