36 Chapter 36: Good news

While everyone was celebrating and rejoicing at the victory over Slytheryn, it was William who stood up first and left the dining hall.

"I suppose you must be happy, even though your effort only brought a few points to your house it was enough to win the cup, I remember you challenged Professor Quirrell to a practice duel to win those points."

For William could tell the identity of the person even without using his mind's eye to look to his back, truth be told he was expecting something like that.

"Lesley Angeline Rosier" William said in a cold and curt tone "House competition is no different than children's games, I suppose a wise wizard should understand that by now"

The expression on Lesley's face turned to fury and anger, she as a fifth year witch knew very well the argument behind the house war, but she couldn't lose her competitive spirit.

"You dare to use my full name to refer to me" Lesley bit her lip and clenched her fist. She was recognized among her peers as a cold tempered witch who was hard to anger, both her beautiful silky black hair and light blue eyes were very popular among the male students so she always acted gracefully, but the mere fact of being treated like an ignoramus by her younger brother who was practically the trash of the family was enough to make her lose her temper slightly.

"I think that's the most formal way to address each other within Hogwarts, I would hate to be related to the rest of the Rosier house members. I am a different kind of Rosier or try to be" William expressed calmly, not looking at his sister, he didn't mind looking at her, there wasn't the need after all neither of them considered the other party as family.

"Mother won't praise your pride in house, you might even get a prize for Gryffindor's victory, you know mother is a fan of house competition and she herself was in Slytherin during her years of study."

"I guess she is also unaware of the argument behind the house competition, I will be sure to send an owl with the respective information, she may be able to instruct the rest of my siblings regarding the subject, so I can look forward to a second year with more peace of mind" William mentioned calmly making Lesley get much angrier to the point of grabbing the wand from her skirt but it was the same moment that Professor Dumbledore appeared.

"William" Dumbledore called "a family meeting?"

"No, it was just an educational talk. A family meeting is only when everyone is considered to be members of the same family" William moved towards Dumbledore passing Lesley "this was just to explain about the competition of the houses"

"I see" obviously Dumbledore could understand the meaning of William's words but decided not to interfere, it wasn't his task after all.

William followed Dumbledore to the office he was supposed to be in "take a seat William"

"sure" Dumbledore's office was huge, there was a huge amount of books, documents and William could even see fawkes, there was also the sorting hat, William had the idea to go and ask again which house he belonged to but he desisted immediately.

"Gryffindor won the house cup" Dumbledore said out of nowhere, William just nodded, the boy's attention was focused on the surroundings, there was a lot he didn't know or wasn't mentioned in the adaptations "about your request..."

William turned his face immediately and looked at the headmaster as intently as he could, he wanted to stretch his mind's eye but didn't dare in front of Dumbledore "what about my request?"

"I know it hasn't been long since our Meeting but I think it will be possible to fulfill your request, Headmistress Guimarães gladly accepted my request after seeing your qualifications and expressed that she would like to see your development with her own eyes" Dumbledore had a smile on his face and handed over on the table the letter from the headmistress of Castelobruxo "now that I remember do you know how to speak Portuguese?"

"I studied the language during the year, I am not an expert but I can hold a steady conversation to some degree, I suppose I could become more familiar with the language there" William was reading the letter.

"The minister of magic, Cornelius Fudge approved the temporary transfer to Castelobruxo as a symbol of friendship with the Brazilian ministry of magic. As for your family's authorization, I have it here" Dumbledore placed an envelope on the desk.

William glanced at the envelope and immediately knew its sender "Lord Rosier sent a letter to authorize all of your decisions regarding your future."

William stared at the envelope intently, he himself had sent a letter to his grandfather with the request for help but he never expected the reply to be so rushed.

"surprised?" asked Dumbledore, William just nodded "your grandfather is a very different person to the others, I wasn't lucky enough to be his teacher for a long time as he was in sixth year when I was his Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher."

"you were my grandfather's teacher?"

"Yes William, and I must add that your grandfather was a great duelist, he used few spells but always with elegance and he had an open mind, much more than his classmates" Dumbledore stroked his beard "I can see a small shadow of your grandfather in you, that's why I will allow you to go to Castelobruxo as you asked, I will take care of everything until your return but you will have to fulfill your vacation duties anyway and..."

"I will fulfill everything!" exclaimed William, he was excited and happy. His dream in his first life was to travel the world and now he was starting to fulfill his dream "when will I have to go?"

"tomorrow"

"tomorrow?"

Dumbledore nodded "before the Hogwarts students leave the castle I will personally drive you to Castelobruxo, we will need to make some arrangements but you will arrive before lunch, now you may retire and settle all your affairs"
