12 Chapter 12: The first classes

First day of classes, Wiliam woke up early in the morning, started his day with a refreshing shower to awaken all his senses, organized his clothes and arranged all his materials to start his journey to the transformation room.

With a small pocket watch there wasn't much of a problem sticking to schedules, waking up early was common in William's life, even in two lifetimes.

When William arrived at the dining hall for breakfast there were only two people among the teachers, not that he wanted to draw attention to himself but it was simply that the rest of the students were not in William's habit.

Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall were those who were in the dining hall before the rest.

"Mr. Rosier you are the first to arrive" greeted Professor McGonagall to the young man who sat at the far end of the professors at the large Gryffindor table.

"Good morning Professor McGonagall."

"Good morning Headmaster" Dumbledore nodded as he lifted a piece of toast to his mouth.

After he sat down Hermione Granger arrived and then all the rest of the students, the room was practically full after a while, students from all four houses everywhere and the sound filled the place but William was still silent, no one wanted to have contact with him.

William was at the end of the table with a book and an apple, he wasn't picky about the food but he certainly would have preferred something with more fat and frying, something like bacon but he didn't have the freedom to choose.

Finally the first bell rang announcing the start of classes, the first class was with Professor McGonagall being the same one on transformations studies. William didn't bother with any of this class and just wrote down everything about the class.

The second class was a bit more complex, the potions class with Professor Severus Snape was as dark as William remembered from the movies and that is because Snape's greasy hair was nothing like the movie version not to mention the jagged teeth. Potions class was based on teasing the Gryffindor house students, in this class Willian was close to Neville to avoid the accident of the boy's boils.

After two long classes it was finally time for lunch, lunch was pretty much the same as during breakfast except that many were doing their homework, William for was going over his notes and eating something simple, no one presented a single word to William and there was no longer any need to explain the reason.

There was no specific mail for William and William himself did not want anything to arrive in his name, if he had anyone to send him mail it would be his grandfather and knowing he was in Gryffindor where he was not supposed to be then the letter would not be to congratulate him.

At the end of the lunch hour the broom handling class continued, a class that William wanted to attend very much, it was anyone's dream to fly freely in the sky, flying in a plane made it possible in the 21st century but there was no freedom and flying on a broom would be what William needed.

As in the original story Neville shot off on his broom uncontrollably and the teacher proved her uselessness by not stopping him or rather allowing the young student to hurt himself. William didn't want to make a move and just watched the fall, it was unfortunate but he didn't want to be punished for saving others.

The teacher walked out with Neville from the flying yard leaving everyone with the order to stay on the ground, Willam left his broom on the side and walked away from the group, he had already seen the movies and read several story to know that this would only lead to a ridiculous event.

"Are you hiding like a coward Rosier?" William heard the question coming from behind him stopping his steps in his tracks but saying nothing.

"What's the matter Rosier, are you a cowardly Gryffindor too?" William didn't need to turn around to know the identity of the person, the only person capable of acting that way was Draco Malfoy and there was no need to stoop to his level.

William continued his steps to the front when he received a blow to the back of his head, he couldn't help but get angry ,I mean who wouldn't get angry when hit by a rock or something similar?

The laughter from the Slytherin students and some others was not lacking, William just picked up what was thrown at him and it turned out to be Neville's reminder, fortunately it didn't break, William's lips opened to say something but quickly closed, it wasn't good to make trouble, he didn't want trouble.

It was at the moment that William was putting the rememberer in his pocket when Draco used the broom to approach and snatch it from him.

"You should be more prudent Rosier, keeping other people's things in your pockets is considered stealing" said the boy mocking William "Gryffindor's are not thieves, you should be honorable"

"That's from Neville!" the shout came from the group of students, specifically Hermione Granger who was looking up at the sky.

"Yes, that's true" Draco accepted what was said "but if he wants her back he must come for her or of course Potter or Rosier can come, of course if Rosier isn't a coward."
