8 Chapter 08: Marcus Rosier

William walked down Diagon Alley with his wand in his waist, he now had his own companion or weapon, there wasn't much to do but Will still had a good amount of money in his bag and he would be an idiot to give it away to his grandfather. The old man had a lot of money in the castle and was reluctant to give any away, that included his own grandchildren.

The stores in Diagon Alley, all were visited by the Rosier heir, he bought every single thing that caught his eye among some that were not worth the money like quills or flasks, and the last destination of his visit was a lottery and betting house.

William entered the small space where there were several greedy goblins everywhere, William was not used to seeing these creatures but he knew they were bad tempered so he decided to appear to act normal, he did not want to contribute a grain of sand for a new possible rebellion of the goblins.

"I want to buy some lottery tickets" Will said with a slight smile on his face in front of the counter where there was a goblin with a book and a long pen in his hand.

"Tickets, sure just have to pay in advance" the goblin held up a finger looking at William with a smile.

William opened the pouch in his pocket and pulled out a gold galleon on the counter "I want the most expensive tickets" The goblin returned a tenebrous smile pulling out a box where there were several tickets sorted "You can select now."

Looking at the tickets William knew immediately what this was all about, the tickets were made in different ways from each other and all had different contents, most similar to the scratch and win tickets in William's previous life, they certainly weren't popular with muggles yet so William could intuit that they were invented in the magical world.

Scratch and win tickets were not very popular because they were really fixed, the chances of winning were certainly low and these should be no different.

William activated his mind's eye and put in his brain the winning ticket, those special tickets glowed a different color in front of William's eyes and these were the same ones he bought leaving the corresponding golden galleons in the display, of course he also bought some that had nothing special and this was to cover his move, goblins are greedy and if they find out that William cheated he could end up in severe trouble.

The shopping was over, it was time to return home to the Rosier family castle, but the problem now was how to get back, Wiliam was stranded in Diagon Alley until his grandfather showed up, a pitiful truth.

As he resumed walking and browsing the stores in search of something that caught his eye he recognized a familiar silhouette, a young man with white hair and light blue eyes staring at him from afar "Marcus" William murmured.

William's older brother walked calmly keeping his hands inside his pockets, he had several chains on his clothes that rattled with each of his steps, the closer Marcus was to William the latter could feel more pressure on his body.

"Books?" asked Marcus picking one up from William's shopping cart "Fantastic animals by Newt Scamander, it's a very useful title actually, of course there are many other books you can buy if you want to learn how to assassinate beasts, I remember there is a title that teaches the most useful spells to eliminate each species."

"I'm not looking to slay any beasts" said William taking the book out of his brother's hands and returning it to the cart.

"It's obvious William" Marcus slipped his hands back into his pockets "so it's true what the portraits at home said, you were able to awaken the magic within you and get into Hogwarts, it really was a surprise."

"It was just something that had to happen, it's only natural" William said as if it was nothing, keeping his composure in the face of the pressure exerted by Marcus.

"Mother was surprised, as were all our brothers, we were wrong about a squib status. From now on you can learn the family arts" Marcus sketched a sinister smile as his light blue eyes glowed partially, in William's mind his brother was no different than a vicious beast seeking to control everything "I don't want you to be a disappointment when you enter Hogwarts, according to my sources the boy who survived will be attending this year, he was seen here in the alley a few hours ago. Father would be happy to know that you and he will be in the same generation don't you think so too William?"

Marcus' voice was like the whisper of the demons in the horror movies William saw in his first life, it was obvious that his kinsman was a full fledged representative of the hallowed twenty-eight, as well as a fervent follower of the blood just as Evan Rosiera was before Marcus.

Marcus's hand came to rest on William's hair "You are different little brother, you no longer freeze when you look at me and don't recoil when I advance, I'm surprised you can stand the sound of my chains, I guess the magic in your body now gives you a little more courage."

William could feel his heart racing as he heard those words and that had substance to it, it hadn't been long since he was in this new body but most of the previous memories prevailed, the fact that Marcus always bullied little William was hard to forget and William's own body remembered the fear.

Just as William's body was about to take a step backwards away from Marcus, a hand came to rest on the little white-haired boy's shoulder.

"Marcus!"

Looking back William put saw his grandfather, Lord Rosier standing looking down at the eldest Rosier of the new generation.

"Grandfather" Marcus greeted bowing slightly in front of Lord Rosier "I didn't expect to see you in this place, but I think I surmise the reason for your trip."

"I don't care about your conclusions Marcus, you should be in the castle right now, the alley is not your work office."

"Is grandfather insinuating that I followed them to this place?"

"You can think what you want anyway this place at the moment is not your destination, you are dismissed."

Marcus looked at Lord Rosier for a moment and then let out a smile "as Lord Rosier commands, see you at home William" Marcus withdrew into the crowd and disappeared.

Lord Rosier didn't give William a single glance "We must leave as well."
