1 Chapter 01: Flames of the end

The small snowflakes were slowly descending through the dark sky in the middle of February, the supplementary class schedule had barely come to an end.

That young student who had devoted his time to studies like many others in the country could now finally return home, there was nothing special about the young man. Slim build, black and slightly wavy hair, glasses to cover his visual problems and under his eyes long dark circles under his eyes, the product of long hours of study.

"Ahhh..." exhaled the young man in his hands looking for some warmth for his cold hands while carrying a small bag with a lonely hamburger for dinner "The days are getting longer and longer and my hands are getting fuller, only a few months left to finally graduate... I'll be a college student in no time and then I can enjoy life a little more."

"Sigh... why does everything have to be so hard?" the young man asked himself as he walked and checked his phone in search of information for his next few days of studies, university exams were near.

Zsss Zsss

The strange sound and the surprising heat wave stopped the young man's walk, the young man's attention led him to look in a specific direction where there were many people gathered shouting.

The young man's feet slowly brought him closer to the place, a two-story house on fire "Que mal...." lamented the young man returning to the phone to send some messages when he heard it.

<help>

"huh?" hearing the voice so close but at the same time so far away, the young man turned around to see the flames once again, he looked all around but there was nothing to point him to the above "Lack of sleep is getting to me"

<help me please>

"Again!" The young man's head if turned all around to locate the voice calling him, it was like a whisper in his ear but at the same time it was as if a person was calling him from afar.

<mom... it hurts>

The young man could hear the voice again but unlike the previous times he could find the direction from which the voice came, it wasn't difficult after all his attention had already been focused once on the place. Yes, that fire.

"It's a.... girl" a man to one side of the young man had whispered without taking his attention off the fire.

"MY DAUGHTER!" another heartbreaking scream came from a man with tears in his eyes who was trying to enter the building but was stopped by two other people, that man stretched his arms trying to reach something but only the air was close, those around knew it, that man was the father of the girl inside the flames.

No one entered because everyone was afraid and the reason said that the girl should not be alive, either by fire or by carbon monoxide but the young man knew it was not so, it could not be so after all he listened to her.

<I am afraid...>

The young man still did not understand what was going on in his mind but he had no time to think, his heart had begun to beat faster with each passing second. His hands were shaking and for some reason he could not stop smiling.

Finally he took the first step, that step that would define his future, his great future in the world, he finally ran out into the flames as he heard the screams of the surrounding people shouting for him to stop.

Entering the main room was easy, there were flames everywhere but I could still differentiate the different places, I didn't know the house but somehow I felt that everything was a map.

He knew where the girl was, he could see her on the second floor behind a wall, she was a silhouette wrapped in light blue as if she was inside a video game with a tracking ability.

"That way" said the same following the strange light blue dots on the floor, the ladder had disappeared, thinking at this moment was not the forte of the young man, the truth was he did not have the time to stop to think and simply took steps back to jump and hold on to a beam at the top, as a young student he knew that sport was necessary, his body was firm as a rock, only a jump was enough to be on his way to the second floor.

Already on the second floor it was a little more difficult to move, everything was made of wood so everything was unstable not to mention that it was full of smoke "Where are you?"

There was no answer making the young man's mind panic as he imagined that the girl who was looking for help might now be dead, he moved fast around the place trying to look for the girl but to no avail.

"where is she?" he asked himself trying to hold his breath and covering himself from the flames, in his moment of desperation he could finally see her again, wrapped in that light blue aura again "there..." he wasn't surprised, he really didn't have time to be surprised, right now he had more things to do.

The girl had her eyes closed and was in a corner of the room behind the TV "Come here" said the young man lifting the girl to start her heroic escape, getting out of the room was not complicated but now going down to the second floor seemed impossible, there was no way out and that strange feeling or power did not seem to help him, the first thing in the young man's gaze was a window and that was his destination, now he could see the crowd and they were looking at him with fear, the young man pointed to the girl in his arms and the people immediately understood what he wanted.

All the people got into position to catch the girl who would be thrown, there was no way of knowing if that action would end well or not, but there was no time to think about anything else, she needed help and the smoke was not friendly.

"Here we go" complained the young man throwing the girl as the floor beneath his feet gave way to the fire "Ah!" shouted the young man before falling into the fire along with the entire second floor.

The girl in need of rescue was already outside but he himself was now the victim, the debris had him buried and the fire was beginning to consume him.

The screams of pain were nothing more than another fuel just like his clothes, his hair and even his skin.

The young man could feel his body burning, he felt his skin burning and he began to lose sensation, he lost oxygen because of the smoke and his vision became increasingly blurry.

"a...yu...da" moaned the young man one last time and he could see due to the strange ability that many people wrapped in celestial aura were running towards him but it was too late, the darkness chased away all light in his vision and the immense pain in his body quickly disappears.

There was no way to act positively to what was happening but he was not oblivious to the situation, it was a normal topic among youthful conversations, death was finally approaching his door, the end of his path ...
