9 Chapter-9: Meeting Harry potter

After the funny incident at expense of Theo, their lunch was basically finished.

Estimating how far they are, both Theo and Hermione decided to change into their school robes.

As decided, they had both took turns leaving the compartment to allow the other to change into their robes.

Just as they finished changing and sat down, a round-faced boy came walking into their compartment with teary eyes.

Theo thanks to his astounding memory knew that this was the same boy named Navllie who had lost his toad once even before he entered the train.

"Sorry," he spoke softly, breaking the musing of Theo.

"But have you seen a toad at all?"

Hermione and Theo shook their heads, causing him to cry.

"I've lost him! He keeps getting away from me!"

"We'll definitely help you find him!"

Hermione had stood up immediately seeing the boy weeping. Watching her promising to help so readily, Theo not wanting to be seen as mean, also hurriedly promised to help.

And so, the group began to go through the compartments one by one to ask.

Just as Neville opened one of the compartments, Theo saw a single red-haired boy staring at a spectacle-wearing boy as they tried to do some spells.

"Oh! your casting spells. Let's see that." said Hermione. Hearing her interrupting them they looked at us then again started doing their work.

The red-haired boy held a shabby looking wand with its magic core sticking out already. In his other hand, a large rat could be seen as he started to mutter, "Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, turn this stupid fat rat yellow."

He waved his wand, which created a spark starling the rat. But after some moment passed, nothing happened. The large rat remained the same gray color while it slept.

"Are you sure that's really a spell? Hermione looked down from the side, and before anyone can say anything, she continued,

"Well, it's not very good, is it?"

"I've tried a few simple spells just for practice, and it's all worked for me." saying that she went inside the compartment and sat in front of the boy with spectacles.

"Watch, 'Reparo'," she said pointing her wand at the glass of the boy which Theo realized had a crake.

As she cast the spell, her wand glowed, and instantaneously the boy's glass got repaired. While not caring about the amazement of others, she continued while getting up from the seat and coming to the door.

"Nobody in my family has magic at all, It was ever such a surprise when I got my letter.

But I was ever so pleased, of course, I mean, it's the very best school of witchcraft there is, I've heard — I've learned all our set books off by heart, of course, I just hope it will be enough — I'm Hermione Granger, by the way, who are you?"

"What lungs you have."

Theo ridiculed from the side. Having Hermione shoot a baleful look at him, Theo replied with a shrug.

"He is Theodore Arthur Augustus and that is Naville Longbottom," said Hermione introducing Theo and Naville. She got Naville's name before they entered the first compartment they searched.

"Hello," said both of them at the same time.

"Hello." "I'm Ron Weasley," Ron muttered with a bit of annoyance in his tone.

"Harry Potter," Harry said while nodding with a smile.

"Are you really?!!" Hermione was startled.

"I know all about you. Of course — I know all about you, of course – I got a few extra books for background reading, and you're in Modern Magical History, The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts and Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century."

"Am I?"

said Harry, a little dazed.

"Goodness, you didn't know. I'd have found out everything I could if it was me," said Hermione in such a way that someone stepped on her tail.

"Hermione calm down. You're scaring him," said Theo with a bitter smile.

Hermione had utterly ignored Theo and continued excitedly,

"Do either of you know what house you'll be in?

I've been asking around, and I hope I'm Gryffindor, it sounds by far the best; I hear Dumbledore himself was in it.

But I suppose Ravenclaw wouldn't be too bad…."

While Hermione blabbered, Theo reminded her by hitting her arm for the real reason they came.

"Oww! What!!!" she exclaimed in pain looking at Theo. He responded by moving his eyes towards Neville.

"Oh! Yes, have you seen a toad? Neville that boy lost it."

Hearing her both harry and Ron move their heads sideways.

"Anyway, we'd better go and look for Neville's toad. You two had better change, you know, I expect we'll be there soon." saying so she left the compartment.

"Please don't mind her. She can very excited sometimes. But what she said the correct, we will be arriving shortly. So change to your robes sooner the batter.

Let's go, Neville, we have to find your toad as soon as we can." saying Theo left with Neville.

And so the group of three continued their search on to the next compartment but each of them went to their separate ways. Neville's toad was not too easy to find.

Theo didn't know just what on earth the Long-bottom family was thinking about, buying an invisible type of house-pet for him.

In the end, Theo was forced to secretly use an echolocation type of sound wave spell, only to discover the toad right on top of a table in an invisible state.

But there had been a price to pay that was quite unbearable. The witch inside the compartment thought the toad was Theo's.

So, she had given him an earful of his conduct for bringing as well as losing it.

But he did manage to clear the misunderstanding in the end and got an apology for it.

But the did was already done and it will stay as a mark in his life forever.

After that, the trio came back to their compartment. And the moment they sat, a voice echoed through the train.

"We will be reaching Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train, it will be taken to the school separately."

As the train getting closer to the station, the three of them were getting nervous. But, Theo has calmed his mind in the next second and easily controlled his emotions thanks to occlumency, which he learned.

So, it didn't affect him much. But he could see Neville's round face was white as a sheet, and even Hermione started to shake a little.

"Which house do you reckon you'll be sorted into?" Theo tried to scatter their mind with a simple question.

"I hope to be in Gryffindor, but I'll probably end up in Hufflepuff because I'm an idiot!" Neville spoke anxiously.

"I hope to be in Gryffindor, but Ravenclaw wouldn't be too bad." Hermione followed up.

"I don't have any particular plan. If I want to choose then it would be either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. I'm sure Neville and you will be sorted into Gryffindor."

As Theo finished speaking, the train began to slow down. Finishing off the remainder of their sweets, they began to follow the rest of the people down the corridors.

"Hogwarts Station, please disembark from the train." A voice echoed the train once again.

The train continued to slow down before finally coming to a stop with a large steam whistle.

Like tourists, all the students pushed and shoved their way onto the black platform. As the Trio got out, the chilly night air had caused Theo to shudder slightly.

A single lamp could be seen over the heads of the students as a single coarse voice called out,

"Firs' years! Firs' years over here! Alright there, Harry?"

Towering over the heads of the sea of students, a tall and lofty man could be seen smiling.

"Hi, Hagrid," said Harry happily. Hagrid responds to harry with a nod and looked at his front while shouting.

"C'mon, follow me — any more firs' years? Mind yer step, now! Firs' years follow me!"

Everyone followed Hagrid down a steep and narrow path while slippering and stumbling every so often.

It was quite dark on both sides of the road, and not one sound could be heard aside from Neville's sniffing once or twice.

"Ye' all get yer firs' sight o' Hogwarts in a sec,"

Hagrid called over his shoulder, "just round this bend here."

There was a loud "Ooooh!" as the narrow path suddenly opened up to the edge of a giant black lake.

A tall and majestic looking castle could be seen on the mountains on the other side of the lake.

And built-in the majestic castle, many different sparkling windows could be seen.

Theo took a few moments to be sobered up from the initial shock he got from looking at this majestic, beautiful castle.

Soon an excitement started building up inside him as he clenched his hand.

"Yes, I made it. I finally reached Hogwarts," he thought.
