16 Chapter-16: Forbidden Forest

There is a reason why the forbidden forest is forbidden to enter by the students.

It is not because of the dangerous magical creatures living here but because of an agreement.

The founders made this agreement with the centaur tribe that lived closed by in the forest.

It says that people who enter the part of the forest that belongs to the centaur tribe will never get back. Because if they enter without prior permission, they will get executed for trespassing.

So, to warn the students, the founder told them about the agreement and forbade them to wander in the forest. Since then, the forest became a forbidden forest.

As students or wizards went less inside the forest, it became a hub for many magical animals where some are dangerous beasts. And as they saw dangerous beast there, many stopped venturing much deeper into the forest.

Overtime many forgotten the actual reason why the forest was forbidden, as they thought the reason why the forest is restricted is due to the dangerous beasts living there.

Thus for all intents and purposes, they renamed the forest the forbidden forest.

The funny thing is, many even forgotten there is a centaur tribe inside the forest. Even among the people who knew centaurs living there, some remember an agreement taking place during the founders' era. But what they don't know.

And mong who knew some even changed the wordings of the agreement to their descriptions. A few old history books show a lot of classic examples.

In one of them written, "the founders of Hogwarts allowed the half-man half-horse beasts to live in the forbidden forest but restricted them not to come in contact with the students of the school. If they did so, whoever comes will be held in dangerous besat restriction center or executed."

'It's a shame that people don't remember the actual histories anymore.' thought Theo while looking at the forest.

And how did he knew about the actual history that others didn't? Well, the answer is quite simple. He read from the family journals written by the members who went to Hogwarts during the founder's era. They mentioned that particular event in quite a detail.

Not only that, he was unfortunate enough to come across some of those so-called old history books at the Ravenclaw's library.

And reading those, he came to that conclusion.

'Anyway, I have to be cautious. Don't want to encounter dangerous beasts now, do we.' though Ray as he slowly entered the forbidden forest.

Creeping inside, he came to his destination without encountering any dangerous encounters.

At the place where he entered, he saw a herd of unicorns. Those unicorns also saw him. But upon seeing a familiar face, they went on towards their business while the young ones came towards him.

Well, it's not every day you get to find a human who can communicate with them.

Theo started patting the manes and the head of the younglings who came to him while thinking, 'Ah! Unicorns! They're so cute!!!'

But his blissful moment was interrupted when he heard a grumpy voice from behind.

"Oi, ye' the'r, Students ain't allowed to be h're."

Turning his head, he saw a giant man standing behind him with long beards like some Vikings.

"Oh. Hey there Hagrid, did you came to feed them. If so, then I came right on time." replied Theo seeing him.

"O, it ya, lit'le Theo. Hea, I thought it was some oth'r student. Rih't aye I came for some feedin." Hagrid replied, becoming visibly relaxed, seeing a familiar face.

But rebuked Theo another the less as he saw him coming here alone, "And Didn't I tel ya no to com hea alone."

"Hahaha... Hagrid, I was just a little excited, so I came here directly. But don't worry, I won't do it again. Next time I will come to you during the feeding time of these beautiful creatures." said Ray while laughing a little embarrassingly.

"Yea. Do that. And next time I see yer comin he'r alone, I'll ban ya, for comin with me ever again," replied Hagrid seriously.

"Of course, of course," replied Theo nodding his head.

Seeing that Hagrid said, 'Gud.' and looking at the young unicorns with Theo, he continued, "Looks like the youngins are with ya. So, he'r ye go feed them while I feed those oldies the'r." while giving a bunch of sack to him.

Taking the sack, Theo nodded towards the giant man while he brought out the food and started feeding the young unicorns.

Hagrid seeing the scene, nodded and went towards the old unicorns to feed them.

There Theo spends the rest of his time feeding, playing, or talking with the unicorns until it was time to go back to the castle.

By the looks of the conversation they had, they have met before this encounter. The same goes for the unicorns as well. Well, such a thing can happen. After all, Theo has an adventurous spirit.

These few weeks or months, Theo has come to Hogwarts. He already went to almost all the places around Hogwarts castle. The only places he left untouched are the places where there are a chance he could get caught or areas that require adequate preparations for traveling or moving around.

During his time going places, he came across this herd of unicorns. They were the first magical beasts he encountered during his sightseeing.

Unicorns are X-class beasts in magical Britain. The magical government termed it as such. That means no one should come close to them without prior knowledge of know how to handle them. Or there is a supervisor around.

Curious after meeting his first magical beasts and unicorn on top of that, Theo tried to communicate with them.

Seeing a human communicate with them made the situation intriguing for the beasts, so they responded.

As the communication established, they became close to the point they let Theo touch their head or manes or play with the younglings.

As he was paying with the unicorns, Hagrid came at that time. He at first rebuked him for coming here and later praised him for how he handled them.

After finding out Hagrid came to feed them, Theo asked him if he could join him or help him. Hagrid, seeing the unicorn's response towards Theo, agreed.

During that time, they chitchatted for a while.

After finding other magical creatures Hagrid take care of at the edge of the forest, Theo asked he could accompany him during those time.

After persuing extensively, Hagrid agreed. But he put forward a condition that he should always follow his(Hagrid) lead.

After that, whenever Theo had time, he would tag along with hagrid when he goes to take care of the magical creatures at the edge of the forest. And whenever he went, he would help him out with his(Hagrid) work.

Doing that, he meets a lot of the other creatures that stay in the forest. And suffice to say, Theo met with a lot of dangerous creatures (i.e., XX, or XXX class Beasts) during his time with Hagrid, and he was lucky that those creatures were mild and peaceful.

But Hagrid made sure that he doesn't take Theo along when he takes care of slightly dangerous animals(On his term) inside the forest.

By the time Theo went to the castle its already dinner time. Looking at the large clock, he cursed himself, 'Damn!! So much time has passed. I hope I am not late.'

Getting inside, he looked at this dress only;y to find it a bit dirty due to previous activities. And seeing that he doesn't have time to go back towards his dorm and fix himself, he thought of a quick solution. Inspecting the area around for any people and seeing none, he flicked his finger, and promptly his body became clean and fresh.

'Ah, much better,' he thought to himself while checking his clothes.

'Magic such a marvelous multipurpose thing.' Theo thought, marveling at the usage of magic while he hurried to the dining hall after making sure his outfits are clean and proper.

Entering the hall, he found out to his relief that he is not late. There are only a few people at the dining table. Even the teachers are not present yet.

Seeing such a situation, he leisurely went towards his table. After taking his seat, he waited for a few minutes before all of his years met came and took their seat.

They all gossiped for a while before the food appeared in front of them. After eating the food silently, everyone except Theo once again did some light chatting over the desert while he listened.

Finishing their dinner, they left towards their dormitory. Entering inside the common room, Theo went towards the library and picked a book from it, and started reading it while helping his friends with their homework, whoever asked him.

After feeling the fatigue take over him, he went to sleep for another interesting day he would enjoy tomorrow.
