5 the first day

on the next day classes had begun for the first year students of hogwarts, but the ones that most were looking forward to but also at the same time not was the defence against the dark arts and the mysteries class, they were looking forward to it because the classes were being taught by a very famous person who had created an entire branch of magic all by himself, but they were not looking forward to making a mistake and pissing off one of the most powerful wizards on the planet, especially when considering the rumours they had heard and his temper they had seen on the station, this leads us to our current position inside the room of the defence against the dark arts class,

"okay, so who among you knows the best way to knock off a user from their broom??" asked ryan who was at the podium replacing Quirrell because frankly, ryan found his teaching skills to be quite lacking so he took over,

hermoine immediately raised her hand much to his amusement,

"yes, miss granger"

"the broom jinx!!" she said to which ryan nodded

"very good , 10 points to griffindor, now can anyone tell me how to stop said jinx??"

"the counter-jinx" replied harry to which ryan grinned , happy that all of his special tor- lessons for harry were working,

"very good, another 10 points, so today we will be ending the class here and for homework you are to find the counter-jinx of every jinx that we had discussed today, i want the work to be on my desk by Monday, now go and enjoy your weekend, but remember that i will be taking you guys to see some magical creatures on monday!!" he said to which the kids nodded and left the class happily talking about the lesson, after everyone had left , McGonagall came to ryan who was packing up and said with a small smile,

"wonderfully done mr.ryan, if i did not know any better i would have thought that you are our new defence against the dark arts professor, while Quirrell on the other hand, was a big disappointment, i will have to talk to the headmaster about this, but i cannot help but wonder, if you taught this well as a assistant professor, how good would you be in teaching your own subject?" she said to which ryan smiled and said,

"i am honoured that the head of griffendor thinks so highly of me, but please do come to my class this afternoon for my first class, what i am about to teach today would be very useful for a transfiguration master like you" he said to which she nodded not doubting his words because she had at one point read his book and was frankly , amazed at his perspective on magic,

that afternoon, the griffendor and slitherin students came to the newly made mysteries class room, however the moment the kids walked into the room they felt as it they walked into a completely different world isolated from the outside, after everyone had arrived at the class ryan came forward and said,

"welcome to the mysteries class, now before i begin i will tell you all something, leave behind your common sense before you step into this room" he said much to the confusion of the students and McGonagall, but before they could say anything ryan suddenly appeared at the teacher's desk much to the awe of the students, however some kids and McGonagall, who knew the truth about appearing suddenly like that could not help but look stupidly at him,

"today , i will be teaching you a skill called alteration, but before we get to that i need to clarify something, can anyone tell me what is magic??" he asked to which hermoine raised her had to no one's surprise, after ryan nodded she stood up and said,

"magic is the phenomenon in which a wizard used the mana provided by the magic core inside him to alter reality as they see fit" she said to which ryan smiled and nodded

"that is correct but also wrong, confused?, let me explain, what she said about using mana or magic power is right , but the part about altering reality is wrong, you see , altering reality is simply put, impossible, unless you attain a level where the universe itself would dance in your palms( like me) , but what actually happens is that the wizard uses his mana to overwrite the reality with their own perceived reality, this phenomenon is what is called as magic, but have any of you ever felt as if there exists another form of energy which is flowing inside of you??" he asked to which many people including McGonagall raised their hands, he nodded and said,

"this energy that the wizards had neglected , thinking that it was nothing is actually a completely different form of energy which i like to call , prana, and the magic performed using prana is called magecraft" he said and raised his hand in which blue motes of light began dancing, everyone present in the class were in awe at this display, even McGonagall who had spent most of her life persuing magic had never thought that the strange feeling that she sometimes had was actually a form of energy different from mana,

during the past years ryan had learned that unlike the magus of his old world who had to undergo a lot of pain to open their magic circuits , the wizards of this world actually had them naturally open when they used their magic, this fact had made him very much depressed for a few days when he remembered the time he had to undergo a lot of pain to embark on his path as a magus, he even had to augment his body using technology so that it could withstand the pain,

"what i want every one to do today is to try and manipulate prana while also keeping your mana locked away" he said, for the next one hour , the kids tried to do that, McGonagall had managed to manipulate her prana after a few minutes showing her skill when it came to the supernatural, the kid took much longer, but by the one hour mark , everyone was able to manipulate their prana, although some kids in slitherin failed , ryan could do nothing about that, he then turned at the students and said,

"ok, now that you are able to use prana, i will teach you alteration, just like in transfiguration , the user needs to imagine the form that they want to change the object into, but this time, you will not use the want and use your prana to personally shape the object into the shape you desire, with this magecraft, an animagus can make their animal form even more realistic, however they would have to combine their mana into the prana to make it work because prana alone is incapable of changing living creatures into a different form" he said to which McGonagall nodded now understanding why he said that his lesson would be helpful for her,

after another hour , the people who were able to use their prana had managed to turn a glass window into a wine glass,

"well, that's it for today, by the next class i want all of you to practice the magecraft to perfection because it will determine your performance on the next magecraft i will be teaching you" he said to which the kids happily nodded , even those born of noble houses were excited about learning a new thing that no one knew,

after everyone had left McGonagall came to ryan with a amazed face,

"i never thought that we actually possessed a different form of energy withing us aside from mana, you must have spent a considerable amount of time to discover such things and create crafts based on this energy, and you are only 16 years to boot, i am genuinely impressed with your work and am thoroughly convinced that you indeed deserve all of the title you have" she said to which ryan nodded
