6 Chapter 6

Good thing was that the books for the year were the same as those I read previously. I won't have to memorize the same content, just in a different format again. While I have the books and trunk already, I would need to buy new ones to keep up appearances and to avoid awkward questions.

Going over the letter, I ask professor, "But professor, How am I going to buy all a supplies." I did my best expression of agonizing, portraying the fact that I am broke (which I am actually not, I have yet to spend any money I looted from those wizards years ago).

"Well, generally Hogwarts provide the necessary funds for the orphan students. But you, Mr. Canis, have more than sufficient funds to go through the Hogwarts and pass out. Your parents set up a trust vault before their passing, which you will use to provide for school supplies and other needs."

This is better than I thought since now I can use the excuse of my trust vault to spend money without suspicion. Since they set it up, means they were wizards, there are high chances of me inheriting other stuff like a house or other properties.

I quickly asked professor "Professor did you know my parents, if so can you tell me more about them."

"While I didn't know them personally, they were once my students at Hogwarts. Your parents, Edward and Iris Canis were both pureblood wizards. Your father, Edward was head of 'Most Ancient and Noble House of Canis which is one of the sacred 28 families. The canis family was a neutral family and didn't support the dark lord, You-Know-who and were killed by him like many other families. Due to not having any living relatives, you were placed in the orphanage." said Prof. McGonagall. She then proceeded to tell me about the wizarding war years ago, in brief.

Prof. McGonagall stood up and said, "Now that I have answered your questions, I am going to take you to buy your supplies."

She started to leave. I quickly Informed matron and followed her outside. Ducking in an abandoned ally, she gestured me to take her hand, when I did so, she apparated, taking me along with her.

I felt an unpleasant feeling of squished inside a tube and scenery changed. We were now standing outside an old and dingy looking bar, which presume is 'leaky cauldron'. She walked and I followed her inside and we proceeded toward the back. She tapped the brick wall with her wand a few times and the shifted to form an arched opening. What greeted me now was a scenery of a crowded market filled with weird stalls and shops.
