55 Chapter 55

Next few weeks went smoothly, without any issues, for me at least. For Harry? Not so much. Like books, he had to go through the whole dementor and trial ordeal. Also just like cannon, Dumbledore wasn't able to find any DADA professor and Fudge being ever the paranoid and incompetent fool, was pushing for Umbridge to be the next DADA professor, or so Madam Bones told me. But as previously discussed, she came through for me and talked to Dumbledore about me being the new DADA professor, who in turn thankfully accepted as he too didn't like the dearest pink toad Dolaris Umbridge. Though Fudge tried to argue, saying that I was too young for the position, it didn't work as there are no rules about a professor's age. So, if someone is qualified enough for the job, which I was actually overqualified for, the job is their, inconsequential of age. Actually, seeing that it was me who is going to be the new DADA professor, almost everyone was in favour of me being the professor.

Well, at least my talks with Madam Bones had the desired effect. Just as Fudge was feeling anxious, for not being able to have his spy, Umbridge, at Hogwarts to keep an eye on Dumbledore and his treacherous schemes to usurp his position, madam bones provided him with an Idea of sending Umbridge as high inquisitor to identify the issues in Hogwarts teaching standards due to having less NEWT level potion students and subsequently the lack of Auror eligible candidates.

Fudge reacted like expected and announced Dolaris as the high inquisitor, the very next day. He gave the speech about the declining quality of Hogwarts education and the whole shebang, not that he managed to convince anybody about his true motive. Everyone knew him for the incompetent and paranoid fool that he was, and played along with his new scheme. But, even though a fool, the man was still the Minister of magic and had the power to appoint the high inquisitor.

Looks like upcoming Hogwarts year is going to be very interesting, well for me at least. But, for Dumbledore and his pet, Snape, not so much. Who knows, she might manage to kick out useless teachers like Binns, Trelawney and the others and actually improve the Hogwarts education standards. Thinking so, I pat myself on the back for my hand in making this good deed happen. Man, sometimes I think I have actually caught the protagonist disease. Real deadly that disease, I tell you. Symptoms include foolish jumping in a dangerous situation and to help someone random people without anything in return, obsessive-compulsive need to force risk their own lives to save people, hero complex, etc.

Anyway, During the summer, I finished up a few of my pending projects, which were to dangerous to be done in a school full of children. Yet, despite my best efforts and cautiousness, I am sure Harry and his little band will still manage to land themselves neck deep in needless trouble. Another symptom of the aforementioned disease, which I forgot to list earlier. As I said, the disease is too deadly and I am taking every precaution I can to avoid catching it.

On a side note, as previously discussed Madam Bones and her niece, Susan spent the summer at my house with me and Tonks. Though young Susan asked me to tutor her, I managed to wiggle out of it saying that as her new DADA professor I don't want everyone to think that I was showing favouritism and teaching her stuff in advance. Yeah, like I was going to waste time tutoring her without getting anything in return. Did I ever mention that I was a wee bit pragmatic person? Not like madam bones was going to notice the I effort I would have put in tutoring her, certainly not with all the increased workload since she started to work on cleaning the ministry of spies and training Aurors for the upcoming war.

Speaking of Aurors, as previously discussed, I asked my Gringotts account manager to set up that vault for Auror equipment I talked to Madam Bones about. Even though only a few of the Aurors knew about it( no one wanted Fudge to find about the war preparations, lest the fool get wrong ideas about madam bones wanting to usurp his position and act out irrationally), they knew the one to thank for their new goodies and soon the rest of them will know too.

Anyway, so here I all dressed up and ready, in front of Floo to go to Hogwarts. Gotta admit, I certainly never thought that I will go to Hogwarts again for my eighth year. Life works in mysterious ways.
