44 Chapter 44

Since I now know the location of hidden sect this young man belong to, I didn't waste any time. Not to mention I need to go back quickly before the term end of this Hogwarts year. If I remember correctly, Order members will take turns to protect Harry this summer, right after he leaves Hogwarts. Since this is the case, I expect the next order meeting to be held just before that.

As the young man was the son of the sect leader, he knew the secret entrance to his sect. Though I won't need it since I can directly shadow travel there. What? Did you think that I would sneak in there using a secret entrance, like a two-bit Thief? No, that is just inefficient, not to mention time-consuming.

What I needed was the location of the library, where all of their knowledge is stored to shadow travel.

From his memory, I found out that, due to the low level, he was only allowed at the bottom floor of the library. Well, no matter, since the elder who is present there is not a wizard, I can just cast disillusionment spell and sound muffler spell to move undetected.

Confirming my plan, I quickly put it to action. I cast both the spells and shadow traveled directly to the sect library.

Just as I expected, a sect elder was present at the entrance. But as my Shadow travel is silent, I got there undetected by him. The library was practically deserted, as students only needed to make a copy of one these books, which I assume hold cultivation techniques. There are also some other books about crap like offensive, defensive, etc techniques corresponding to different cultivation techniques. But since I won't be cultivating, they are useless to me.

Since the elder was seating at the entrance, looking for threats outside, no one was watching me. Well, no time like the present. I cast Geminio spell on cultivation books and made copies of them. I stored them in my mokeskin pouch.

But since there are three more floors above this one, my task hasn't ended yet.

I saw stairs leading upwards, but I encountered an unexpected problem. Some Chinese runes are present at the stairs, which I expect are present to either act as a barrier or to alert the elder.

But this much is nothing for my great self. I directly shadow traveled to the other side and reached the floor above. I repeated the process of duplicating books and moved on.

At last, I reached the top floor. There are only eleven books present here as opposed to hundreds of books present at lower floors. But they each are stored very delicately in wood boxes, wrapped in silk. Guess, I finally found the good stuff. I duplicated them too and stored them in my moleskin pouch.

I really lucked out because unlike Hogwarts library, there are no spells placed on books to prevent them from getting duplicated.

Since I was done here, it was time for me to take my leave. I shadow traveled directly to a Chinese market where all cultivators from nearly all sects gathered.

Once again, I am thankful to that young man for generously providing me the location.

In the market I found numerous cultivators roaming about. Once a while, I would see some arrogant young cultivators going about like they owned the place, with their lackeys in tow.

I will never understand their foolish behavior. It's like just because they belong to the more powerful background than others, they are overwhelmed with the urge to announce it to everyone else. They don't seem to know the meaning of staying low until they are strong enough, just like your's truly. It's like they are asking for trouble. If someone stronger comes through, they will be the first target.

But, who am I to complain?

Since they are so generously providing me with easy targets, who am I to refuse?

I transfigured my facial features and clothes to looked like a nondescript Chinese cultivator and walked out of my hiding place.

I just roamed aimlessly market. Once a while, I will cross paths with some arrogant fools and passively use legilimancy to find out the location of the library in their sect. Since there didn't have any mental defense, I easily accomplished my task.

After a few hours, I found out the locations of libraries in quite a few sects. Just like previously, I disillusioned myself and shadow traveled to these locations. But this time, I directly moved to the top floors and made copies of only books stored there, as I have enough books on lower floors for reference.

By the end of the day, I accomplished my task. It was time for me to go back home. No sense in staying here, I can just examine the books at my home.
