25 Chapter 25

I smoothly came out of the fireplace and used my wand to clean myself. I looked around and found myself standing in a large hall filled with lines of fireplaces. I followed the crowds to the entrance. There was a clerk sitting beside it, checking everyone's wand for visiting records. There were 2 Aurors guarding on both sides of the entrance. Like everyone else, I got in line for checking my wand and soon enough it was my turn.

"Wand and name" asked the clerk monotonously.

I gave him my wand and said, "Aiden Canis".

He passed my wand over a rune for record and gave it back to me. I took it and walked inside. From what I know, DMLE being a law enforcement department should be the place to register my animagus form. I followed the signs and made my way towards the DMLE. I opted to take stairs because the lifts were packed full and I didn't want to squeeze inside. Soon, I reached my destination. I walked up to a receptionist and asked, "Hello, I am here to register myself as an animagus."

" Go down the hallway, two doors left, you will see an Auror sitting behind a desk who will inspect and register your form." She replied.

I followed the instructions and lo and behold, the Auror sitting behind the desk was Tonks. Guest luck is on my side, found just the person I was looking for.

She was buried deep in the paperwork. I walked up to the door and knocked on the door and said, " hey Tonks, good to see a familiar face. How are doing."

" Wotcher, Aiden. Good to see you too. What are you doing here, shouldn't you be at Hogwarts right now." She asked.

" I am actually here to register myself as an animagus. I was told this is the place to do so." I replied.

"Animagus huh, that is a pretty high-level transfiguration. Not my wizards manage to do it. Congratulations." She said.

"Thanks. So, how do we go about the whole registration process." I asked.

" Well if your form is big, we need to go to an empty training space but if it's small, you can just transform right here. After you transform, I will do some diagnostic charms to find if you are properly transformed. After that, I will need to write about the proper description of your form and that will be all." She replied.

I transformed into my Golden falcon form, flew towards her and landed on the table right in front of her.

" Wow, a falcon must be nice to fly around whenever you want without a broom." She said while looking at me.

Now that she said it, maybe it's time for me to learn to wandlessly fly, without a broom just like Voldemort. It will be very helpful, not to mention cool. Alright, it's decided, I am going to learn to fly.

She took out her wand and proceeded to cast some spells on me. After that, she took my measurements and told me it was done. I transformed back into my human form while she was busy writing all about my animagus form on a parchment. She stamped it after it was done.

She filed it away and said, "Alright, it's done. You are now officially a ministry registered animagus."

"Well, actually there is one more thing. You actually forgot about our bet. You know, the one we made about you becoming an Auror In the carriage at the start of your 7th year" I said.

She thought for a few seconds and said, " hey I remember it now. Thank you for believing in me at that time, everyone else said that I won't make it due to being too clumsy."

"You're welcome. But it's time for you to pay up my winnings, five galleons to be exact." I happily replied.

She reached into her pocket and took out 5 galleons while grumbling, " Hey, shouldn't you be like super rich right now. I thought House Canis was very well off."

She reached her hand out to give the coins to me but I declined it and said, " You know what, I would prefer to have my winnings in form of dinner."

She giggled and said, " Are you asking me out on a date."

" Yes, I am." I replied.

" You know, I would love to go out with you, but you are still in Hogwarts. Even though you are legally adult you will still have to stay at Hogwarts and it won't work out between us." She shot me down sadly.

Shit, it would be awkward to ask her out again after this, even after I pass out of Hogwarts. Think Aiden, Think.

I quickly went over all possibilities in my head and came to a solution just in seconds and replied, " You are right, but it won't be a problem since I am planning to give my NEWT exams early and pass out of Hogwarts." I replied.

She looked at me suspiciously and asked, " Are you sure, you look like you just came up with the idea. Besides, you will have to wait until the end of the year and take your exams with the rest of the students."

Boy, she is perceptive. No wonder she made the cut to become an Auror, not to mention personal apprentice of a veteran Auror like Moody himself.

But, I played it innocent and said, " Don't know what you are talking about. I already planned to go to the department of magical education to submit my early NEWTs request right after registering for animagus. Also, due to my being a Triwizard champion, I am exempt from all the classes if I so wish. So, I can take my NEWTs early. Besides, I have already prepared for my NEWTs and it will just be a waste of my time to stay at Hogwarts. I just need to be present there for 2nd and 3rd of Triwizard tournament."

She didn't look very convinced but accepted my explanation.

"So, Will you go out with me now." I asked again.

" You know what, since you are graduating from Hogwarts, sure, I will go out with you." She replied.

"Alright, then I will contact you again right after my NEWTs." I said happily and made my way out of there.
