24 Chapter 24

Well, it's official, I am bored. There is nothing much to do at Hogwarts. I am already on mastery level for Healing, Transfiguration, Charms, Warding and Defence against Dark Arts (DADA) and a bit above NEWT level in other subjects. My magical core has also reached the limit, so no training required. Everyone in my year group is studying hard, preparing for their NEWTs. So, As per everyone's expectations, a top scoring and studious student like me should also be buried in the books, preparing for NEWTs or for the next task of the Triwizard tournament. But the thing is I have literally read every book Room of Requirements can provide me (since I just had to quickly go through the pages to remember the contents due to my eidetic memory) which is every book present at Hogwarts including teachers personal collection. Though I can remember the contents, it will take some times to understand it, especially for master level for subjects like Alchemy and runes which requires understanding the contents. But since I can just go through the contents in my mind, I don't need the books now. Meaning places like RoR and library have exhausted their use for me. I also have more money in my vaults than I could ever spend in a lifetime so getting into business and making even more money is just pointless. I can't even play in the political field since it requires me to be 21 to take my seat at Wizangaomot and before then there is not much I can do to politically strengthen House of Canis or me. Stupid wizards and their stupid rules. Since Voldemort has yet to rise and war has yet to begin, that source of entertainment is also not available. I can't also be seen hanging out and about doing nothing since I should be studying like everyone else in their last few months of Hogwarts. Why couldn't that stupid Voldemort plan his resurrection earlier, I am literally board out of my mind here and could really use some entertainment. Unlike Dumbledore I who has too many titles to entertain himself, I am currently just a student.

Maybe I should go and see what Tonks is up to. Since she is apprenticed to moody who is currently stuffed in a trunk, she should be assigned somewhere in ministry as she is yet to be experienced enough to go out in the field. So, ministry it is.

Doesn't an animagus have to legally register their form at ministry? Maybe I should go and register my golden Falcon form so as to misdirect everyone from my Shadow wolf form since it is generally possible to only have one form. If people thought that they knew my form already, the won't go poking around for my Shadow wolf form. I can also visit Tonks while I am there.

Yup, that's it. It's as best excuse to go to ministry as I am going to have. I am also now old enough to be a known animagus since it won't raise suspicion for a talented and hard working 7th year like me to become animagus. In fact, it will only help my reputation as a Hogwarts champion.

With that in mind, I went straight to Deputy Headmistress Minerva McGonagall's office since she is the one who has authority to give a student permission to go out of Hogwarts legally other than the headmaster. She is also a registered animagus so maybe she can give me a few tips to register my form easily.

Soon enough, I was in front of her office door. I reached out and knocked gently.

"Come in." Came her voice from inside.

I went in and saw her checking a stack of parchments. On closer look, the parchments in that stack looked familiar. Shit, isn't it the homework I submitted yesterday. Maybe I should have given her fewer parchments to check. Whatever, what's done is done, just face it like a man.

"Ah Mr. Canis, I was just checking your homework. Since your homework is more detailed and is of a higher level, I usually set aside some time just to check it." She said.

I quickly changed the topic and said, "Professor, I understand that an animagus has to register their form at the ministry."

" Yes, that would be correct, Mr. Canis. If an animagus is found unregistered, it can land him/her in Azkaban." she replied.

" Well, in that case, professor, I would like to go and register myself as an animagus." I said.

" Are you saying that you are an animagus, Mr. Canis?" she asked.

" Yes, that would be correct, professor." I replied and transformed into my Golden falcon form to prove my point.

She stood up and came beside me with her wand in her hand and quickly cast a few diagnostic charms on me and asked me to transform back to my human form.

" Yes, I believe everything is in order. But you should have come to me and asked for me to properly guide you through the process, Mr. Canis. Attempting to be an animagus without proper supervision is very dangerous." She said sternly.

" I am sorry, professor". I apologized whilst looking bashful.

" Anyway, since you are already an animagus, your decision to register is correct. In that case, I would suggest you go to ministry and register as quickly as possible. While you are legally an adult, but if you want, I can come with to the ministry to help you register." She offered.

" Thank you for the offer, professor. But I would be fine on my own." I replied looking sincere.

" well, in that case, you can use my office's floo to go directly to the ministry." She said.

I did as I was told. I pinched some floo powder in my fingers, stood inside the fireplace and threw the powder which saying out loudly and clearly, "Ministry of magic." and was engulfed by green fire.
