3 As He Hissed Back

Harry has long since become accustomed to his life here. His days filled with new challenges and experiences. It wasn't an easy life, or a fun one but it was a rewarding life. Harry sat on a boulder as his black robes dangled off the rock, looking at the Black Lake, only a few minutes' walk from the great hall of Hogwarts. 'I can't believe it has already been eight years' harry thought as he began to reminisce about some of the things he has accomplished.

"Sit" Merlin said as he pointed next to himself as Harry walked over and sat down. "Do you know why you're having trouble casting magic without a wand?" Merlin asked, as he closed his eyes drawing a large breath into his lungs. Harry followed Merlin's example, as he began to close his eyes and inhale. He felt Merlin's hand on his head, the magic rushing into his body. "Can you feel that" Merlin asked. "The magic, it feels almost excited, I can feel it pulsing through my veins." Harry gasped as the magic pushed his senses to its limit.

He could feel the area around him pulsate with magic as if it was alive, he could feel the insects scurry in the grass beneath his body. He felt the struggle of the plants defying gravity as they reached towards the morning sun. His sense pushed ever further, to the mother birds feeding her young and the morning dew falling from the tree leafs. Harry opened his eyes "Magic is everything," he said looking at Merlin, "Close, magic is not just a practice of wand waving and words. It is a living breathing web of energy that can encase our every action." Merlin said opening his eyes. He stood up and started walking away when he suddenly turned and shot a red spell from his hand towards Harry. Harry flicked his wrist as a rock flew off the ground and shattered as the red spell collided into it. "Better" Merlin said.

Harry smirked while sitting on the rock thinking of his six year old self, truly feeling magic for the first time. He closed his eyes and relaxed his body calling for his magic, the air around him began to vibrate and rocks on the ground started to shake as they slowly rose from the ground.

Salazar was walking to the lake to fetch his young ward, he still can remember the night Merlin brought him and he felt the dark magic scarred into his forehead. Oh, how his past self would have laughed if anyone would have told him that he would genuinely care for the child. He can still remember the day his feelings for the boy changed. The day started off as any other but soon changed, when Merlin dropped off a four year old Harry, "watch him Salazar I am needed elsewhere" Merlin said, leaving before I could even disagree. I remember the feeling of loathing, as my days plans were going to be delayed, as I had to watch some child that was the futures problem. "Serpensortia" I said as I raised my wand summoning a snake. "Watch him, protect him and keep him out of trouble." I hissed as I started to walk out of the room, only to come to a stop as I heard Harry hiss back to the snake.

Salazar lost in his thoughts let his feet guide him as he came on a scene that would make any guarding proud. He saw harry meditating on a boulder as hundreds of rocks from the size of pebbles to ones needing both hands to hold, floated around him. Salazar made his way to the young man as he pushed rocks out of the way and rested his hand on Harry's shoulder, the rocks tumbled down to the earth as Harry's meditation was broken. "It is time for your next lesson." Salazar said as Harry got down from the boulder and they both headed back to castle.
