14 A Perfect Place to Nap

"This is a first for me" the taxi cab driver said looking at Harry's caged owl through the rearview mirror. "You said King's Cross right, are you going to visit someone?" The taxi cab driver tried making idle conversation without much luck. Harry looking through the window of the cab was in deep thought. 'As Hagrid was leaving he said I need to be at King's Cross early in the morning on September 1st but he never explained how I get to Hogwarts from there. Do I get teleported or does someone meet up with me and flies me there on a broom?' Harry pondered not registering that the taxi already arrived. "Kid" the taxi driver kept saying as he was about to reach behind him and give his leg a shake to get his attention, as he reached his hand behind the seat the owl started hooting dangerously at the man. The hoot from the owl brought Harry out of his thoughts. "Calm girl, its ok" Harry using his calmest voice cooed to the owl named Hedwig. Harry handed the rest of his pounds to the taxi driver figuring he wouldn't need them anymore as he stepped on to the curb of King's Cross station.

'Here goes nothing' Harry said to himself as he stepped from the curb into King's Cross, standing there waiting for something to happen. 'Ok, so I don't teleport to Hogwarts' Harry said mentally crossing teleportation off the list named 'How the Fuck Do I Get to Hogwarts.' Harry carrying Hedwig as everything else he was bringing was in his trunk shrunk in his pocket, started walking around the station, looking for anything that screamed or even whispered magic. Harry searching for anything to help him and soon saw a family pushing a cart with an owl on it. 'Bingo' Harry thought walking after them, afraid to lose them in the crowds. The family soon stopped in the middle of the train station facing a wall "Alright Daph, walk quickly and confidently into the wall and you will appear on the other side" the man said to his daughter as he carried his other daughter in his arms. Daphne started pushing her cart at the wall, moving faster with every step she took, as her cart and body moved through the wall and she was no longer visible. The man, Daphne's father, shortly followed his daughter into the wall while still carrying his younger daughter in his arms.

"Well if that didn't just scream magic" Harry said out loud as he mimicked what the family just did. Step after step, he picked up his pace as he closed his eyes walking through the wall. As a wind greeted Harry from the other side, he opened his eyes to a red and black old fashion train. Families littered the station as they were saying goodbye to sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, moms and dads. Harry watched the touching seeing as he started stepping onto the train that would take him back to his real home, Hogwarts.

Harry looked up and down the train's hallway seeing no one in sight. 'Everyone must still be saying their goodbyes or haven't arrived yet' Harry thought as he trotted up the train looking at all the empty compartments that he had to choose from. Harry reached the front of the train and as he looked to his right he saw a compartment bigger than the rest, it still had seats on the wall facing each other but in-between the seats a large round table was erected. "Nice" Harry said as he slid the door open and plopped Hedwig and his unshrunk trunk on the table. He wandlessly casted some locking charms on the door as he pulled down the shades on the windows that showed the station platform. The room became dark, a perfect place to take a nap, Harry laid down on one side of the seats and closed his eyes.
