4 The Six Point Formula!

The next morning, Petunia was inside Danny's room (Harry's room), watching him drink his milk from the bottle. The boy seemed to be a well-behaved kid, at least until now and was not a noisy brat like her own son, Dudley, who would raise a ruckus every time she tries to get him to feed him.

But this kid was the complete opposite. He was quite calm and she could almost swear she could feel the kid judging her with his intelligent eyes. And oh god his eyes...they were just like Lily's. It reminded Petunia of her childhood with her sister. She could remember when everything was normal. They were almost inseparable. They would do everything together. But everything changed ever since she 'awakened', or at least that's what everyone in the magic world called it.

One day there was a loud bang in the backyard. She ran back towards the sound. She was really frightened as she knew that Lily was in the backyard building sand castles in the artificial pit. When she reached there, all she saw was a blinding light where her sister was supposed to be.

After a few seconds, the light subsided and a shocking sight became visible. The entire pit was covered with vines and the sand castle was nowhere to be seen. In the middle of all this, Lily was laughing surrounded by globes of light. She looked happy and was trying to catch those motes of light. It looked something out of a fairy tale and Petunia just stood there looking at everything completely enchanted.

That day we understood that Lily was special and from then onwards our relationship slowly changed. For some time, she had hope that maybe she would also 'awaken', but reality struck her really hard and slowly the jealousy took over curbing any other emotion she had towards her sister.

Although Lily tried to salvage the situation, I was too far gone and treated her like some monster on the outside, but on the inside, I knew...I knew that it was envy, not fear or revulsion that I was feeling. Why did her sister get magic and not her?

It reached its peak when Lily received the acceptance letter from Hogwarts and since then their relationship completely fell apart.

She was completely consumed by her jealousy and almost twenty-five years later, here she was, looking at her sister's son.

The witch had told her that he had magic in his blood. Even with the standards of the magical world, he was considered to be quite gifted, something he inherited from his parents who were considered to be one of the finest magicians when they were alive. Thus he doesn't need to awaken his magic as he was born with it. This was usually the case with those who had wizard parents.

So when she saw that the child had an intelligent look in his eyes, even though he was barely a month old, she attributed it to the wonders of magic.

"Looks like you are a freak too, just like your mother. I guess you are going to be a lot smarter than the average kids your age too.....Magic...", she sighed.

When Danny heard her, he felt really elated.

"It seems Petunia thinks my magic comes with a few gifts of its own. That would make things much more convenient and I could just attribute everything different that happens from now on to 'magic'.

Heh heh heh, it would surely make my life a lot easier", thought Danny.

After drinking milk he pretended to fall asleep.

As Petunia saw him fall asleep silently she left the room after another long sigh and muttering how good it was to be born with magic and how it makes the kids behave better, compared to her son who only knows how to eat, shit and shout.

While keeping his eyes closed Danny was thinking about what to do next, not that he had many choices, being a toddler put a damper on a lot of his plans. But he started going over his ideas and put them under six broad points:

1. He had to get the Dursleys to like him and treat him better as compared to how they treated Harry in the original story. This was absolutely necessary if he wanted to accomplish his further plans.

2. He needs to start practicing his magic as soon as possible. He knew what kind of enemies he would be facing right from his first year in Hogwarts and he couldn't bet his life on some illusionary luck or 'protagonist's aura'. He had to get things under his control and the only way to do that was to get stronger.

3. He would need guidance from an actual wizard or at least the books related to magical theories and spells so that he could prepare himself beforehand.

4. If possible, he would need a magic wand.

5. He would need to make some money in order to achieve the previous two objectives since buying books and wand is going to cost a lot. Especially, if he wanted to dabble in potion making, it would burn a hole through his wallet. At least, until he gets the key to his parents' vault in Gringotts, he would need another source of income so that he could buy magical supplies from Diagon Alley.

6. Next would be his most important objective: GET HERMIONE!

This was a no-brainer. Any fan of the Harry Potter books would agree to it that the decision to pair up Ron and Hermione was really a buzz kill and if she looked anything like the Hermione in the movies, he would definitely change the original storyline.

These would be his goals for the foreseeable future and he would keep adding and subtracting as the situation demands. But he knew that these six points would most likely not change.

But for now, he could only concentrate on points 1 and 2.

In order to get into good books of his aunt and uncle, he would need a breakthrough. They would block him out due to their fear of magic.

So he needs to find that crack in the wall to dig into their lives.

He understood that the proverbial crack could only come from his aunt.

He would have to somehow make her get past the bitterness and jealousy towards Lily and start treating him as her family.

And he had just the tools for it: his inborn cuteness as an infant and his well-behaved nature as compared to Dudley, who he could hear crying even now.

So with that sorted, he started thinking about point number 2.

He needed to get his magic under control as soon as possible. Since he was a half-blood, he didn't need to go through any awakening. Magic was already flowing inside him, he just had to feel it and bring it under control until he could wield it as his own body part.

He knew it would not be easy and because he didn't have any guidance, it would be an uphill battle.

But he trusted himself and his hardworking nature.

He also had a pretty good IQ, since he was able to get into one of the top three universities in the world without any backing or resources. With just his intellect and hard work he beat all the other candidates and was admitted into MIT with a full scholarship.

Thus he would use all his knowledge of all the fantasy and magic books he had ever read in his previous life to figure out a way to harness his magic power and if none of those would work, he would create a method of his own.

So with that resolution, he started working on his 'six-point formula'. But before that...he needed sleep. Damn it! This body really sucks.
