Chapter 4 - Hogwarts is waiting little dove

After Arya got her wand she went into overdrive on the studying and practising front. While she still devoted time to her sessions with tutors, what she cared about most was trying to master her new wand and learning the new spells. As much work as she had put into her wandless magic attempts it was a very different experience learning these spells with a wand. Before using her magic had been like trying to force an ice pick into a thick wall of ice. While it was manageable to do for her it was like she was forcing magic through her whereas the moment she started practicing with her wand it was easy like a lazy river flowing through her body as she effortlessly felt the magic leave her.

She spent the remainder of her time before going to Hogwarts working on all her first year spells. She had gone through the first three years before but without a wand and being forced to only use wandless magic which while she was capable of it was not very efficient, the biggest benefit of wandless however was that by constantly using wandless magic it put a lot of stress on her magic core. Thanks to the years of wandless magic she has almost reached her second maturation period. Arya still planned on becoming the strongest witch or wizard in the wizarding world so that she is never left at the disadvantage she grew up being stuck in.

Typically most wizards and witches only reach their first maturation stage after they turn 11 yet Arya has been using wandless magic since she was 8 and already forced her first maturation period when she was 9 years old. Usually the most talented students will reach their second maturation period between the ages of 15 and 20 years old. This is followed by the third maturation period usually taking place for extremely active and talented witches and wizards in their 30s. This is followed by the legendary 4th maturation period which according to public knowledge only the current headmaster of Hogwarts Albus Dumbledore has reached. Even Lord Voldemort at his peak was estimated to only be in his 3rd maturation period. Arya is hoping that if everything goes according to plan she can reach the second maturation period by the start of the new year. Arya and daphne remained extremely close and spent most weekends together or with some others that have fallen into their friendship group. Shockingly to Arya she now had a solid friend group which stands at Daphne who is her best friend, and recently a young man named Theodore Nott has also fallen into their group. Theodore Nott will also be attending Hogwarts with them this year. The Notts are a close family friend of the Greengrass family and as a result of all the time that Arya and Daphne have spent together Theodore inevitably fell in with them. Arya felt more comfortable around people than before and it was all thanks to Daphne pushing her to make more friends incase they end up in different houses, she doesn't want arya to fall back on bad habits so she is forcing Arya to interact with new people,.

Daphne stayed over at Aryas house the night before they were to leave for Hogwarts. They had spent most days of the Summer with each other and Theo would join them every now and then. Arya spent a lot of time helping Daphne get a strong base on all the first year spells while Daphne spent a lot of time helping Arya with potions. Daphne always had a fondness for potions and found it easy to learn so she took Arya under her wing with potions. They also spent a lot of time on brooms. In a way it was clear from the start that Daphne and Arya are like fire and ice but they go perfectly well together. Daphne has a very strong theoretical and technical base of knowledge and thrives in social situations, and find her enjoyment in the technical aspect of magic. She is tall and slim with long blonde hair and pale skin with warm green eyes, she could be considered a traditional looking budding beauty in her own right. Then you have Arya, Arya is short, stockier than Daphne but athletically built. She has shorter hair with one side shaved with intricate patterns and her hair was dyed midnight blue. With piercing ice grey eyes that had the ability to see right through you and tanned skin that looks almost exotic in dreary London. She would be considered an alternative style young girl that no one was really expecting in 1991, but yet she remains a budding beauty nonetheless.

So the girls decided together that in case they get separated due to being in different houses they would have one more night together. The girls were sitting on Arya's bed laughing and talking when Daphne grew quiet for a moment. Arya looked across at her and asked "whats bothering you Daph?"

Daphne: " Listen Arya, I am kind of scared, I mean we have been pretty much inseparable since we were 8 and now we are going to Hogwarts and we might be in different houses. Are we still going to be friends?"

Arya looked at Daphne in disbelief, this is Daphne the most confident girl arya has ever seen and your first ever true friend. Yet she somehow thought that something as small as different houses in Hogwarts would somehow be capable of ending their friendship.

Arya: "Are you bloody insane you git. How could you ever think that the most important person in my life besides my parents will stop being a part of my life WHILE in the same school just because of different classes. Jeez Daph I thought you were supposed to be smarter than that."

Arya looked up from her soliloquy to see Daphne with watered eyes and a red face burst out in laughter before talking her to the ground.

Daphne: "Come on musclehead we both know I am the brains in this relationship even if you have me beat in practical aspects of magic for now. But your right I was being a git come on lets get some rest we have to get up early tomorrow."

Arya and Daphne cuddled up in Arya's bed, "I love you Daph" said Arya as her closed before she passed out asleep. Daphne whos face was only getting redder "Love you too Dove" said as he also went to sleep.

The next day Lyra took both of the girls with her to Kings Cross station. The Greengrass family agreed to meet them there. Once they reached the station the girls were pushing their trolleys towards platforms 9 and 10. They looked the odd pair to the muggles around them pushing trolleys with large trunks and an owl on them with a small grey cat on the short girls shoulders. They made their way towards platforms 9 and 10 when Lyra angled the girls towards a pillar that was in between the platforms.

Lyra: "This way ladies, right over here. Close your eyes and walk through you got this ladies."

The group made their way through the platform pillar and were greeted by a mass of people. Daphne saw her parents and ran over to them to say goodbye. Lyra pulled Arya into a hug and whispered into her ear "Hogwarts is waiting for you little dove, have fun, make friends and create countless memories."

Arya: "I love you mum, see you at Christmas, give dad my love and tell him he needs to work less and treat you more."

Lyra: "Goodbye my little dove."

Arya and Daphne got together and made their way on to the train. They looked in the compartments trying to find an empty one, but they seemed to be filled up already. They finally found an emptier looking cabin where the only occupant is a skinny kid with black hair and glasses.
