Chapter 10 - Prodigies

Professor McGonagall was able to pull herself together the quickest after Daphne scolded Arya. 'Shameless maybe but her talent is a once in a thousand years kind of talent, what she just pulled off is something even now I doubt I can pull off wandlessly. The only being that comes to mind is Dumbledore and he was constantly referred to as the second coming of Merlin.'

Professor McGonagall - " Very well done Miss Rosier, We will talk after class with your head of house about the possibility of private lessons but one thing you must understand is while your undoubtedly extremely talented in Transfiguration the fact of the matter is that Transfiguration requires a dexterous and DISCIPLINED mind. I expect you to pay even more attention than the rest of the class to these classes if you ever wish to have the privilege of private lessons. Please assist the other students in the class with their needles, Understood?"

Arya who was gaping like a fish while sitting on the ground jumped to her feet immediately and looked Professor McGonagall in the eyes before nodding her head. Class finally resumed and carried on with Arya giving her assistance to the other students who looked at her in awe, envy and in some extreme cases worship. Daphne took every look into account while watching the class react to her best friends genius, she frowned at the look of worship on one classmates face but quickly moved on from the thoughts running through her mind before returning to watching Arya help the others with a gentle smile on her face.

Class came to an end and Professor McGonagall told Arya to meet her in Dumbledores office after dinner this evening. Arya gave her affirmation before rejoining her group of friends who were awaiting her outside the classroom.

Harry-" that was bloody brilliant Arya, I had no idea you were so skilled in magic"

Theo - "Seriously Ary, I at least had an idea of what you were capable of but that completely baffled my mind just to watch it."

Hermione -"You may have me beat in Transfiguration but mark my words Arya you wont outdo me again in any other subject" said Hermione while puffing out her cheeks in a pout

Daphne ran and wrapped Arya in a hug before saying "well done little dove that was spectacular but I will still be talking to your mother about what you just pulled off in class in front of everyone"

Arya could only blush in embarrassment and give Harry and the others her thanks before turning back to Daphne and saying "I am warning you Daph if you try and take away my books I will turn you into a ferret and mom is not here to save you"

Daphne smirked at her response before she whispered in Aryas ear "you sure you want to there little dove, try that and I will have to tell everyone about Dracos 9th birthday party"

Arya's face quickly paled before taking the dogeza pose on her knees " I am not worthy of such a beautiful and intelligent best friend and I shall endeavor to make you aware of your greatness for the rest of my life, please forgive me"

The surrounding students took a look at what was happening and froze, they had no idea why some first year was on her knees but they wanted no part of that strangeness.

Daphne let out a giggle before helping Arya to her feet " where are we next guys?"

Theo - "Well we have Herbology with the Hufflepuffs"

Hermione - "We have potions with the Slytherins"

Daphne let out a giggle at this and told Hermione "keep an eye on Ary for potions will you? Its not exactly her strongest subject"

Arya let out a snort of indignation "Watch it smartass not all of is us can be blessed with the golden touch of potions like the "Potions Prodigy" here. Oh we bow to your majesty we are not worthy of your grace"

A tick mark appeared on the side of Daphnes' forehead as she glared at Arya "whatever you say Miss "Transfiguration Transcendent"

Arya grabbed Hermione's hand in a huff and pulled her towards potions class while yelling back "smell ya later losers"

The Golden Trio burst into laughter while Harry asked Daphne "what on earth was that about?"

Daphne just sighed and said to Harry "As we all come from Most Ancient and Noble Houses, our accolades have always been pushed to the public eye in an effort to strengthen our House's name in the Wizarding World. My talent laid in potions and I aspire to become a potions master and became known as the Potions Prodigy, Theo is extremely talented at Charms and is known as the Charms Commander, Draco is known as the Dueling Dynamo and Arya is known as the Transfiguration Transcendent.

(A/N) If you guys can think of better titles that use alliteration than these please let me know its part of the story but they were the best I could come up with.

Daphne - " We are incredibly proud of our achievements in our respective fields but the way our families used us to further themselves before we were even old enough to go to Hogwarts while expected of a pure blood family leaves a bad taste in all our mouths. It also puts us on a pedestal that the average witch and wizard can't reach and that has resulted in many others using us for their own gain to further themselves. This has affected Arya the most as while I am superior to her in potions she is immensely talented in everything practical. For now Theo and Draco may have her beat in their respective fields as of right now that is because she has always been utterly transfixed on Transfiguration, the love for that subject she has can not be underestimated, yet despite this she was always within spitting distance of Draco and Theo in their fields and her grandparents fully aware of that scolded her and pushed her to pursue all avenues of knowledge theoretical and practical as seriously as she does in Transfiguration and become the undisputed queen of the younger generation of magic. She hates that her accomplishments are being treated like a commodity and this has made her focus on practical magic even more but her grandparents are relentless in their thirst for acknowledgement of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Rosier."

"Aside from us three she has not been allowed to interact with "lesser witches and wizards" her parents try their best but they can't stop their own parents so Arya has been put under a ridiculous amount of strain with little to know support. Thankfully she has had us support her from the shadows but it's terrifying her what her talent entails for her future, if her grandparents had their way she would already be under a marriage contract to another strong pure blood family. Thankfully her great grand uncle is the head of House Rosier and he dotes on her so she has been kept safe from all that. However it is not clear who will be head of the Rosier Family once her great grand uncle passes as he has not named his heir yet. That is why she has pursued greatness so much to assure her position in the family so that her grandparents can't dictate her future for her"

Harry was shellshocked that his friend suffers so much because of Pure Blood society and was thankful that his Godfather was not nearly as overbearing despite being head of House Black.
