Hogwarts and Sorting! Part-2

{Somewhere in Scotland}

{12:38 AM, 1st Sept 1991}

As Harry and others got comfortable around each other, the girls relaxed and started whispering among themselves, Harry, on the other hand, went back to his Charms textbook, but instead of letting it float, this time he opened it and started reading his book on the surface but actually he went back to playing with his mana. Time passed easily as the small group focused on tier own little world, this silence was broken when Harry sensed someone stopping and peering into their compartment.

Harry turned to look at the door and his eyes widened for a second before he activated [Gamer's mind] and all emotions bled from his face. With neutral eyes he looked at his brother enter the compartment who looked at him with a curious look, their short staring contest was interrupted by Susan as she loudly huffed, "Took you long enough for you to make your way Potter, did your adoring fans stop you again?" Susan asked, Harry could see the mischief in his eyes as he eyed his younger brother sigh in exasperation, his eyes darted to me for a second and Susan understood what he meant.

"Excuse me for my rude manners, Hector this is Charlus Potter, our very own celebrity," she was eying me critically, "Charlus this here is this year's muggle-born genius, Hector Jackson." she grinned, proud of her introduction.

"Genius?" Charlus asked with an intrigued expression and Susan shook her hand, "I am going to take that secret to my grave, you figure things out on your own latecomer." Susan declared before turning to Neville Longbottom and giving a friendly greeting. Harry analyzed Susan's actions, she greeted Charlus and Neville with friendly banter and even tried her best to give a good impression of Harry, while also pointing out that his secret and their friendly encounter were independent of their interaction with Potter.

"Heir Potter" Harry greeted simply, he didn't notice Susan's eyes narrow slightly, his focus was now on his twin who was staring back at him, "May I call you Hector?" his twin asked politely taking Harry by surprise, he didn't know what to say so they stared at each other for a few moments, Harry's eyes roamed at the similar facial features that they both shared in his original form, high cheekbones and a sharp Jawline, framed his face, with Hazel eyes shining in curiosity.

"Of course Heir Potter, it's an honor." Harry drawled out, his eyes then shifted to the Longbottom heir, "Heir Longbottom." he nodded politely towards him, anyone could see the tension in the air, Charlus Potter was rather confused, he was sure he had never met or offended the muggle-born before, there should be no way for him to be stiff in his presence.

Susan noticed the tension and fidgeted, Charlus looked around and turned towards the two girls, "Why don't you join us in our compartment? The Patil twins are there and we met another muggle-born genius, her name is Hermione" his reasoning was clear, he did not trust the muggle-born around his friends especially when his wand was still out. Susan hesitated before speaking, "Of course..." she hesitated before she turned to me and asked one last time, "You could join us if you want Hector," she tried one last time even though she could not foresee it happening.

"I'm afraid I have gotten quite comfortable here, Heiress Bones, though I appreciate your offer," I tried to give her a smile but my emotions were dampened at the moment. She looked at my face for a few moments before Charlus and Neville grabbed the two trunks and walked out of the compartment, Harry closed his eyes and leaned into his seat, keeping track of everyone's movement with his senses.

"Why?" Only Susan remained behind, staring at the muggle-born with a complicated look, she couldn't understand why would he do this, there was no reason to reject Charlus's friendships unless you were a bigot which he couldn't be as he was a muggle-born.

Harry opened his eyes and looked at her one more time, he had deactivated his [Gamer's mind] so he gave the girl a small smile, "Goodbye Heiress Bones." Susan was even more confused at his soft smile, her mind couldn't quite comprehend why and what just happened in the past 5 minutes but she dipped her head goodbye and swiftly left the compartment.

Harry closed his eyes and thought back to his actions, he could have handled the situation better, maybe there were a million different ways to have gone about it but Harry wasn't sad about his decision, there was no way in hell he was mixing with Susan when she was friends with his brother, she could be a good source of information but the girl didn't deserve a fake friend, her eyes were sincere and Harry liked the innocence they contained.

But he didn't want his first friend to be stuck in between his brother and him, he did not want that kind of drama in his life. Harry paused and looked back out as Susan left his sensory range.

'Friend' he mused. Now that was something new...

{The Great Hall, Hogwarts, Scotland}

{07:48 PM, 1st Sept 1991}

The great hall was brightly lit with thousands of candles swaying to an unknown song, night sky glittered on the ceiling as thousands of stars were dancing to the same unknown tempo. Harry had always thought wizards were idiots for clinging to their medieval decorations but here he had to admit, he hadn't ever seen a more beautiful scene.

"...Hupplepuff"

Harry watched as the Bones heiress happily skipped to her new house amid countless cheers and clapping, Harry's eyes lingered on her for a few moments before he skipped and looked back at the myriad of characters present in the hall, his eyes lingering on the old man who was like a beacon to Harry's magical senses.

"Hector Jackson"

Prof. McGonagall called out and he stepped up to the small stool, he quietly sat on it as his eyes focused on the small number of eyes he drew when compared to the heirs.

"Huh..." The hat let out a muffled exclamation sound and Harry cringed, focusing more on [Gamer's mind] hoping the Hat couldn't read his mind, according to his theory the hat was like an empath searching for his qualities.

"A natural Occlumens," the hat murmured but by now the whole hall was silent listening to the hat murmer, "It's been half a century since someone from your ancestry had walked these halls Mr.Jackson ...Slytherin!!!" The hat thundered the last part louder than the rest and as Prof. McGonagall removed the hat from his head. Harry's robes changed to green as he swiftly walked towards the Slytherin table, his steps measured as swiftly crossed the difference, under the stunned silence of everyone, Harry walked to the further end of the table and sat down.

Harry looked around and surveyed as everyone was looking at him, he knew what was wrong, a Muggleborn has been sorted into Slytherin...
