6 6 - Gringotts and Hogwarts

So here I am walking up to a huge white polished marble building, In front of the huge doors are two Goblins who look like they're ready for war.

I don't quite remember what they look like in the movies but I'm sure they weren't anywhere near as scary as these. They might be even shorter than me, an 11 year old but damn, my magic is almost instinctively coming out to protect me from a potential hit, of course there's no way i'm allowing my magic out in a place like this, they'd probably chop off my arms or something.

Walking into the building there are a lot of goblin tellers stamping and writing things, I confidently walk up to a teller because I am a confident and sociable person and am totally not scared that my voice will crack like a nervous child

"I-I am Ahem Ahem.. I am here to see my family account manager"

Dammit! I sounded like a nervous kid waiting for his mommy to come get him.

The goblin sneered, well actually I have no idea if he sneered, for all I know he's being polite to me but I'm gonna go with it being a sneer.

"And what would your name be, wizard". He spat the word wizard as if it was an insult and it probably was.

"Leo Ignis"

The Goblin looked surprised, then got a serious look on his face. "I will go and bring your account manager at once, please wait a moment."

Wow, his attitude changed fast when he heard me say Ignis, I wonder what my family's relationship is with the goblins?

After waiting for 3 minutes I started to get a little bored but being the anti-social person I am and not really being in a hurry I decided to wait.

A minute later the Goblin I spoke to previously walked towards me with a slightly taller and more dangerous looking goblin.

The teller spoke in a far more polite tone then when he first saw me, "Mr Ignis, this is your account manager Riptooth, I shall take my leave"

"Hello, so you're my account manager?"

"Yes, I am your account manager and have been for the past 23 years, could you tell me why you asked for my presence?"

"Right, I'd like to know a basic overview of my family's vaults, which vaults I have access to and would like to take an inheritance test."

"Mr Ignis, if you'd follow me"

"Sure"

Riptooth then led me through at least 20 corridors before stopping in front a door that looked just like every other door I had seen on my walk through the corridors.

"If you'd enter my office"

After stepping into the plainly decorated office that consisted of a bookshelf, a door, a desk, 3 chairs and a few weapons tied to the walls.

Riptooth then told me to sit while he walked through the door, he came back less then 30 seconds later with a blood stained bowl, a piece of parchment and a finely decorated knife.

"Please cut your finger and let 3 drops of blood into the bowl so that I can confirm your identity, and please note if I find out you're an imposter you will be punished appropriately.

I unconsciously gulped at the menacing tone he used before cutting my finger, letting the blood drop into the bowl and healing my finger wandlessly.

Riptooth looked mildly surprised at this but for all I know he could be completely shocked, goblins aren't the most expressive bunch.

He then looked at the parchment and said, "Everything seems to be in order, Greetings Heir Ignis, now that I've confirmed your identity, let's get down to business."

"Just Leo is fine, no need for the formalities, as for business I'd like to take an inheritance test and know the status of my vaults along with which vaults I have access to."

The only vault that you have access to at the moment is your trust vault, your family vault is unavailable until your emancipation at age 13, as for the status of your vaults, there have been no abnormalities in your vaults since the death of your Father, Arno Ignis, as for investments, they have been set to a moderate gain, moderate risk status and will remain that will unless you change that when you become Lord Ignis.

"I thought I became emancipated once I reach 17, why 13?"

"You are the Heir last remaining member of a Most Ancient and Noble House and as such you gain Lordship after your second magical maturity."

This was news to me, it wasn't in any of my political books.

"I see, then let's proceed with the inheritance test"

"As you wish"

5 minutes later and I'm dripping blood into another bowl that looks slightly cleaner and higher quality.

Riptooth then showed me the results, they read:

Heir to Most Ancient and Noble House of Ignis

Heir to Most Ancient and Noble House of Merrygold

Son of Arno Charlus Ignis

Son of Heather Ignis nee Merrygold

Merrygold? That's another famous house but I thought the Merrygold family was wiped out? I guess not, so those were my parents names. I don't feel any particular attachment to them but I saw how caring my mother was in the short time I saw her alive so I can't help but feel a little bit of sadness., well it seems my business is done here, let's go back to the orphanage.

Back to the platform, I've got my trolley carrying all of my supplies along with my Great Horned Owl that I named Barnabus.

What? It's a good name!

Well anyway, let's do this..

Are you sure? That wall looks suspiciously solid.. fine fine let's do it. 3, 2, 1 go

I went at a walking jog pace and couldn't but close my eyes as I went through, feeling no wall I opened them revealing a another station with big red train along with a few families talking to their children, most likely giving them a goodbye before they boarded the train, I've didn't really feel envious, I was never one for the whole kissy-huggy-feelly-touchy goodbyes. A simple goodbye is enough. I boarded the train and found a compartment near the end, levitating my stuff into a space in the compartment I lay down on one of the long red seats and summoned a book from my compartment, wandlessly of course.

With a sigh of comfort, I whispered "This is gonna be a fun couple of years"

20 minutes later the train started making noise and slowly moving out of the platform.

Looking up from my book "A book of Spells Grade 6", I saw my compartment door slowly open revealing blonde-haired green-eyed girl with aristocratic features and expensive looking robes.

"Can I sit here?" She asked with an emotionless face.

"Go ahead, I'm Leo by the way"

"I'm Myra, Myra Greengrass"

I had a brief look of surprise on my face at that, 'she wasn't in canon' I thought.

"I'm Leo, Leo Ignis"

Her face also took on a brief look of surprise at that before going back to impassive.

"Nice to meet you"

"Nice to meet you too".
