4 4 - Learning about wizarding world and getting wand

'So.. System, do you have a name?'

[Yes, I have a name, it's System,]

...

...

..'Of course it is.'

After asking the system about the wizarding world for a few hours there were a few things that I found important,

One, according to the last user of the system who happens to be my father, the Ministry and Albus Dumbledore have allowed the current public magical knowledge and education to fall dramatically, Hogwarts school curriculum used to have classes on occlumency, rituals, healing and there were a lot more spells that were removed under the reasoning of them being 'too dangerous'.

Rituals were considered dark, occlumency books are almost impossible to find in any respectable way, healing requires you to apprentice yourself under another healer as books just aren't enough to teach healing and are hard to find, you need hands on experience. As for the current Hogwarts teachers? A ghost who is older than the things that he's supposed to teach, a potions professor who is more immature than the children he teaches, Defence against the dark arts? Lockhart? A Voldemort possessed coward? Umbitch? Poly juiced Death Eater?

After finding out about all this I've come to the conclusion that Dumbledore is not a good guy and the ministry are, for the most part, incompetent fools. It's also incredibly biased against muggle borns considering not a single muggle born is in a high position in the ministry or a teacher at Hogwarts.

Another thing I talked with the system about is my House, Ignis. Ignis is and always has been a neutral side. We don't side with Dark Lords and we don't side with the light either. If somebody attacks us we attack back. Our family's motto is 'Without balance, there is nothing.' I asked the system what this meant and it told me this

[There is always dark and there is always light, if the whole world is bright then we will never move forward, nobody would change anything because it's all fine as it is, if the whole world is dark then everyone would live in fear and oppression, we'd never move forward for there would be no hope to push us forward in the first place. Balance is all, for without it, there is nothing.]

'How poetic'.

'So, system, you said my father is the one who figured out The Ministry and Dumbledore removed all those areas of magic? You also said you needed to absorb information on how to read a mind before being able to do it. Didn't my father or any other previous users of the system figure that out?'

[Yes, they did]

'So can't you just use that information?'

[No]

'Why'

[The system has obtained a wealth of information of a millennia, however it was decided if the user of the system was given everything straight away then they wouldn't feel the need to work for their own information, if you want information from the system, then you must work for it]

*sigh* 'makes sense I guess' I grumbled under my breath.

* Time Skip * - 4 years

I'm now 11 years old and a few new things have happened.

For one, I have just gotten my Hogwarts letter which I of course expected to happen and totally didn't act like a kid on Christmas day.

Second, I have almost passed my high school level education and will be done in a couple of months which drew quite a bit of attention considering I was in the newspaper for a bit and was offered multiple scholarships.

And finally, in front of me is a stern looking woman who looks surprisingly similar to her movie counterpart and she's just asked me if anything strange has happened around me before and well, I haven't actually had any 'accidental' magic but there's no need to tell her that now is there.

'uhh well there were a few times when I wanted a toy or book to come towards me and they flew right into my hand and once I was comfortable in bed but forgot to turn off the light and really didn't want to get up to turn them off and all of a sudden the light siwtched off.'

"Well, Mr Ignis, that is because you are a wizard"

"Umm.. you mean like pointy hat, robes and a staff type of wizard"

"Yes, Mr Ignis however we tend to use wands instead of staffs"

"Oh, well uhh Miss..."

"McGonagall"

"Miss McGonagall, I don't have any money for all the things I got in my letter and I don't think I know where to buy a cauldron... or a wand."

"The wizarding world is closed off to muggles, we have our own shops to buy the things that are specified in your letter"

"Umm, Muggles?"

"Non-magical people, we call them Muggles."

"I see.. so is that why you're here? To take me to these magical shops?"

"Yes Mr. Ignis, and I am rather busy so I suggest we leave soon."

"Of course, just let me go get my shoes on."

"Very well."

Nothing too strange happened while I was at Diagon Alley apart from when I got my wand.

I walked into Ollivanders and looked around, there was nobody there and the place felt like it tingled with magical energy. All of a sudden somebody appeared behind me and goddamn, if I didn't know that was gonna happen I would've jumped two feet in the air.

The man had silver hair with silvery eyes to match that looked like they were staring at the ground behind me as well as into my soul.

"Ah, Minerva, how's your wand? 9 and a half inches, Fir Wood and Dragon Heartstring, very well suited for Transfiguration"

"Fine, Ollivander. I'm here to help Mr Ignis here get his wand."

"Ignis? I haven't heard that name in quite some time, your mother got her wand from another wand maker however I still remember your fathers wand like he got it yesterday. 12 and a half inch, Elder wood and thestral hair as the core, very powerful wand and very picky, but once it chose your father it was as loyal as can be. I think we can expect great things from you Mr Ignis"

My body almost shivered from the way he was staring at me, I was pretty creeped out.

"So uhh, Mr Ollivander, could I get my wand now?"

"Oh, of course, which hand is your wand hand?"

"Uhh, left.. I think"

"Good, Good, now let's get you sorted shall we."

and so, I waited, and waited, and waited until finally,

after at least a hundred wands, I found mine.

It was a very beautiful wand, 11 inches, Elder wood, Thestral Hair and Phoenix Feather as cores. Apparently dual cores are incredibly rare and dual cores of opposite nature like thestrals and phoenixes are almost non-existent but mine create a perfect balance of life and death with thestrals signifying death and phoenixes signifying life and being reborn. I can't help but think I'm being setup for a plot of a fantasy book like what sort of poetic shit is this. An incredibly rare and powerful wand of perfect balance a life and death? Well, I guess i'll roll with it, not much else I can do is there.

"I didn't make this wand Mr Ignis, it was an heirloom of the Ollivander family for centuries but it seems it's found its owner in you, I expect great things from you Mr Ignis."

Yep, definitely being setup for a plot.

"Uh sir, how much is it?" I asked hesitantly"

"Free of charge Mr Ignis, as long as you bring it here at least once a year so I can keep track of its progress, it's not everyday I sell a wand like that"

"Uhh... sure."

And so that's how I got a super rare, super powerful, annoyingly poetic wand.
