22 22 - Exploring Aerimagic and Ending 2nd Year

The Featherlight Charm is obviously designed to make things that were once heavy, as light as a feather.

I tried using it on a chair and when I chose to pick it up, it stayed in the air after I let go.

Now, I haven't found any ridiculously useful means to use this spell at the moment but whenever i'm working on something that involves multiple different books or objects, I can cast the spell in aeritongue and push it up for a bit, out of the way, where I can come back to it if needed.

I enjoy sitting in My Study to just sit back and think about new ideas or purely relax. It is always at the perfect temperature, not too hot, not too cold. I made sure that no stray drafts or blasts of air could touch it and throw paper everywhere.

I have one drawer that holds all of my work. Be it Journal, Experiments or Theories that sits right on my desk, the size of a rubix cube. The lock is tagged to my magic signature so no other person can open it without destroying it which I've made hard to do on it's own.

Once I open it, all I have to do is think about what i'm looking for and out it comes. I just have to think 'original' and it goes back to a normal size.

Archie quite likes to play with objects that are charmed with the spell too, though he constantly hits it too high and meows at me to bring it back down, so, like the normal person that I am, decided that i'd try to invent an object for him that allows him to use magic, so that he can levitate it down himself. It would act as a focus, considering he wouldn't be able to use a wand, a magical condenser considering he can't actively use magic, and a protection, because I don't want him being killed while I am not with him.

Well, I usually leave him in the room of requirement during lessons because he can somewhat use it himself, if only a little, along with food that is unlocked on a timer, can't have him eating as much as he wants and becoming overweight, right? But still, if Archie finds himself in danger, I wanna know about it.

The thing is, making an object that acts as a focus, magic condenser and protection is very advanced stuff, so I'm sort of waiting until i'm emancipated so I can have access to the Merrygold's information on enchanting because I plan on using both runes and enchantments on it, which I've decided will be the collar that Kevin bought Archie for Christmas.

'Now that I think about it, I should get my own magic condenser, It wouldn't be able to give me more magic, but it would definitely let me recover magic faster. Oh, what if I were to add a jewel onto into it that can store magic in it so when i'm running low, I can recover some from there in an emergency, it would be far faster than getting it from the ambient magic in the air. What would I use? Mythril? Maybe Orichalcum? Where would I get something like that? The Goblins, maybe? My family vaults might have something that I can use.. I guess I have to wait until i'm emancipated until i'm truly free to do what I want.'

As for now, there are other spells that behaved differently in the bird language. Let's take the healing spell 'episkey.'

The truth is, I numbed my foot and broke my big toe which was a little weird hearing the and seeing the crack but not feeling it, anyway, I used the bird equivalent of 'episkey' and found that after taking off the numbing spell, it didn't even ache like the regular spell, and it was far easier to direct my magic into the spell to heal the toe.

Next, I cut my arm with a mild 'Diffindo', with my arm being numbed. I could have used occlumency, but the numbing charm was simpler and with occlumency I still felt the pain, but could just ignore it, anyway, I cast a 'Vulnera Sanentur' and realised that magic was almost helping me cast it and it cost 40% less than Latin's incantation.

Overall, healing and air are the strongest points of aerimagic but in general, it's easier and requires less effort than Latin. Of course, I can't just use it in class or something, they might not know about aerimagic but they'd definitely find something is up if i'm making bird noises to do spells.

..

Ah, The Hogwarts Express, just as red as ever. Every time I see it, I always feel the need to look back on life, and, I've had quite a bit of fun with magic so far, the fact that I've only scratched the surface of it just makes it all the more exciting. I'm not quite sure what I want to do in life, but I guess it's a bit of everything.

Exploring the world, from ancient Egyptian tombs to forgotten magic in Africa, there's so much out there to do and explore and I can't wait to do it, not to mention all of my families research and information on magic. In a few months, i'll have my own places to stay, rare knowledge and materials, all types of books and even more time to invent things, only limited by my imagination.

Even better, i'll have my next magical maturity. My magic core has reached a sort of limit at this point, only increasing in small amounts no matter how much I drain and recharge it, sort of like how an athlete can't get that much stronger despite working hard all day, they're already at their limit, but a magical maturity will fix that and I can't wait for it to happen. I seriously love the feeling of getting better, stronger and more knowledgeable.

I'm already in the middle of a growth spurt at the moment, in the past few months I've increased a few inches in height and now stand at 5 foot 3 and am continuing to grow which is pretty tall for a 12, almost 13 year old.

'It's June at the moment and my birthday is the 16th of August, once i'm 13, i'll be ready to unlock it all, I won't need a magical guardian, I will have my own home, I will have a magical maturity, maybe the system will finally do something new, it's all exciting for me.'

The train ride home, which lasted far too long even with my patience, finally came to an end and I stepped out of the train with my trunk shrunken in my pocket and Archie on my head.. half the size that he should be.. I'd rather not talk about it, but he decided he would cannonball onto my desk and knock over a new potion that I had been developing which fell all over him.. needless to say, I haven't found the antidote just yet and he's no longer allowed to play in my research area.. which I probably should have decided in the first place. It's not my fault he is just as stupid and annoying as every other cat in the world.

Well anyway, back on track. I thought about the deal I made with Ollivander my first time there. 'I'm almost sure that he doesn't check the trace from the ministry when he examines the wand, but there's really no need to risk it, I know I got this extremely rare and valuable wand for free, but i'm sure he will understand.. you know what, I'll get someone to give him 100 galleons for his troubles at some point. Most would say that there's no point in doing that, but if I don't at least pay him then i'll feel bad for taking the wand without even 'paying' for it.'

I didn't bother making my way to the orphanage and instead made my towards Diagon Alley. I knew quite a large amount of languages fluently but I definitely wanted to learn more, I also knew that there would definitely be new stock compared to last year that I might not have even thought about beforehand in Knockturn Alley. I actually found quite a few stores last year that, after a bit of searching, had multiple interesting things, one even sold endangered and rare magical creatures.

Anyone with an illegal business in Knockturn Alley good enough to be useful for me will know how to avoid the Aurors, how they do it is impressive even to me, because I also don't know how. Seriously, the man had magical creatures in the windows, I don't know how the aurors haven't taken him down by now.

Anyway, I found myself in Gringotts and withdrawing 300 Galleons.

Casting all the same spells as last time along with a large amount more, I made my way into Knockturn and this time not even the scavengers who scouted out the entrance of the alley noticed me.

I walked around for over 20 minutes, just exploring all the different stores, some looked fairly normal while others I struggled to even read what the sign said, even with my magical contact lenses.

I eventually saw a dingy and small building in an old corner that had clearly seen better days.

I barely made out the sign that said 'Crystal Words'.

Shrugging, I made my way inside, idly noticing that a bell swung when I entered, but made no noise.

A man was reading in a worn-down wooden chair, he had one eye closed with his other being narrow and grey.

With scraggly grey hair and a lot of wrinkles he'd be lucky to pass for under 70.

He didn't notice me until I had walked near him and waved my hand near him.

He looked up at me and asked "What do you want?" In an old and slightly annoyed voice.

"Just wondering what you sell." I responded with another shrug.

"Books." The man said while moving his head down to look back at his book.

"What sort of books?"

"All of them, fiction, magical, muggle, languages, philosophy, journals."

I assumed that was the case from the contents of the store and what it was called.

"Could you show me all the language books that you have? I am willing to pay."

The man finally looked back up, the gleam in his eye told me that he was obviously interested in money, and considering how rundown the store was, it wasn't all that surprising.

"Wait here" the man said gruffly before getting up with better health than I expected and walking into a door, making noises as I waited.

When he returned over 10 minutes later, I was incredibly surprised by just how many he had.

There had to be at least 30 books levitating along next to him.
