Chapter 21: Returning To Hogwarts

The next morning, Draco set foot on the train back to school.

There was a rumour which was popular among the students.

Draco sat in his seat, not paying attention to anything until he heard:

"Is it true? Was Draco's wand confiscated by the Ministry of Magic?"

"Why?"

"I heard that he used a curse to torture a muggle and he was discovered."

"Really?! I usually look at him as a gentleman, and he's so handsome." One girl said.

"Don't you believe me? Look at his hand or his wand holster."

Some of the girls were approaching Draco but they were too flustered to talk to him, let alone get near him as they were scared of him.

Draco was content, but the negative image of Slytherin's members had always been the case.

"Is there anyone here?" A gentle female voice came. "Do you mind if I sit here?" A girl sat in the seat next to Draco.

"I haven't made my decision yet." Draco was speechless. "I tortured a muggle a few days ago. Cho, are you not afraid?"

Cho Chang shook her head and stared at him and said, "I still trust you." Then she asked: "Can you tell me what is going on?"

"Oh, nothing much apart from the fact my wand got confiscated," Draco replied, feeling quite exasperated.

Cho Chang was disappointed, but insisted: "I still believe in you anyway."

"Thank you." Draco politely replied to her, nodded, and then began to flip through the latest issue of The Quibbler. The journey seemed to be short, but when Draco returned to Hogwarts, the sun was setting, it was already dinner time. However, when Draco was walking in the building, the students avoided him, which made him feel like an outcast.

Of course, there was also a small number of students dressed in green robes who followed him from far away. They normally followed him as he was liked, popular and powerful. Slytherin's only followed the powerful and cunning as it was tradition.

{It's over, now prepare yourself.} Draco lamented in his heart. {This time Dumbledore is going to call me to the office to educate me.} Now Draco's childhood became a replica of Voldemort's childhood. Follow-up, talent, and some of the tendency to be misunderstood enough to keep Dumbledore alert.

{Let's take a step in and look at how it goes.} Draco comforted himself and walked slowly toward the dining hall.

The banquet seemed to have just begun, and the plates in front of many people were still full. Hogwarts always had many reasons to hold a banquet, and Christmas was also a reason.

As soon as he found his seat and sat down, Pansy's face popped up together.

She asked with concern: "Are you okay?"

"Well, does it look like it I'm not?" Draco smiled and waved his hand to show that he was fine.

Seeing the nature of his laugh, Pansy felt her heart relax as she returned to her chair.

She whispered: "I know you are fine, some stories that you originally told me to empathise with any race. Equality and all that stuff," She paused and went on to say: "But I still hate muggles."

Draco had an indifferent expression.

"I was very dissatisfied with the Christmas gift you gave!" Pansy knocked on the table and seemed to want to attract his attention. "Isn't pen and ink what you should give to the mud…" She was still thinking of how to insult Hermione, however, she forcibly stopped herself. "Give the muggle witch?"

She waited for him to answer. Pansy went on to say: "But I still like the colour of the ink."

"And you have a conscience." Pansy glanced at her hand and whispered.

Draco raised his hand and looked at the pair of gloves in her hand, like lightning he grabbed it.

"Give it back." Seeing him raising his hand and looking at it, Pansy said with a small red face.

"Aren't you afraid the others might steal it?" Draco smiled. He felt that Pansy's appearance was so cute now that he couldn't help but tease her.

"Stop laughing! Give it back to me." After Pansy got up, she wanted to grab the gloves back.

"Isn't someone confident when they write a letter?" Draco lifted an eyebrow.

She began to say seriously: "Give it back to me, I will change it again, it will look better." Draco saw Pansy's eyes lit up, apparently stronger than his mother's.

"When the gift was sent, I will keep it until the day I die." Draco looked at the glove with a cherished look, and couldn't express the deep feelings in his eyes.

"Disgusting!" Pansy's face flushed red, so much it spread to the tips of her ears.

"Okay, I won't tease you." Draco corrected his expression and said, "I am very grateful to Pansy for knitting this pair of gloves for me. I am very honoured but given the particularity of this first gift. I decided not to return it."

"When did you become so compassionate?" Pansy said with some hatred.

"Growth is irreversible." Draco smiled.

The glove was still in Draco's hand.

"Harry, have you heard?" The Gryffindor dining table was also in a frenzy, and Ron reached into the middle of the dining table and took a piece of pizza, speaking to Harry.

"What have I heard?" Harry asked without lifting his head, he was eating a chicken leg.

"Everyone knows, and you don't?" Ron glanced over at the Slytherin dining table and whispered to Harry: "Draco was caught by the Ministry of Magic, he was said to have used magic on a muggle outside of school illegally."

Ron had the habit of taking pleasure in other people's misfortune.

"But even then, his wand was confiscated," Ron continued.

"That's so unlucky." Harry couldn't help but touch his chest. He felt that his heart was beating vigorously. "It's hard to imagine. I asked him who Nicholas Flamel is, Ron, you helped a lot."

"Of course." Ron raised his head and couldn't help but be proud.

"That's not true." Hermione suddenly hit the table loudly, some of the students of Gryffindor looked at them, and even some Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students turned their eyes.

"What is not true?" Ron asked her. They didn't think Hermione would talk to the Slytherins. He thought that maybe Hermione was just thinking about a problem.

"Nothing," Hermione said weakly. Her outburst was an impulse. When she finished, she seemed to sigh in relief. She didn't dare to admit that she was helping him. She was afraid that others would misunderstand her.

"Hermione, we were worried about you before, but we didn't find a chance to contact you," Harry interjected. " Your state seems to be very bad." Harry paused, and then said: "But now it seems that you seem much better."

"Yeah." Ron nodded.

Hermione wouldn't tell them that she was happy because she received the note, even though there were only a few words and a couple of spells on the piece of paper.
