18 Luna Park

"We're almost there. But you have have to wear this until I tell you to take it off." He pulled a blindfold out of his pocket.

"I'm not going to wear that, for all I know you could be kidnapping me." He burst out laughing the moment that sentence let my mouth.

"Believe me Harmony, if I wanted to kidnap you I would have done it by now. You looking as gorgeous as ever today isn't really helping me stay sane."

"But-"

"Trust me." I looked deep into his eyes and in that moment, that exact moment I knew I could trust him. And I did.

Without a word I took that blindfold from his hand and tied it right around my eyes. "Are you happy now?" I acrimoniously asked.

"Yes, very happy. No peeking baby." Chuckling he said. He knew how annoyed I was, yet still continued to find my annoyance gladdening.

"We're here. Don't move, I'll open the door for you." He quickly got out, getting to what I assume is my side. As soon as I got out, he grabbed my hand, pulling me to his side to walk properly. Making sure I wouldn't trip and fall.

It was only a few seconds later, that I felt Carter, pushing my head down to enter a vehicle? I relaxed once he sat down beside me. He tightened my seatbelt before repeating the same action on himself. He then placed a headset on my head.

I wanted to ask him what was happening, but before I could, I felt my seat suddenly vibrate. A very loud and steady 'Thump-Thump' sound filled my ears.

"What is that?" I asked loudly. Even when he didn't reply to my question, I somehow knew what the answer was.

It was the sound of air being beat into submission.

"Carter answer me. What is that?" I asked again desperately wanting him to confirm my unspoken answer.

"A helicopter." He confirmed.

"What? Why?"

"I already told you it's a surprise. Trust me, Harmony." I uneasily sighed before I nodded. "Fine," He wrapped his huge warm hand around my tiny wrist.

I start to feel the effects of adrenaline, the helicopter begins to gently lift off. My fingers were itching, I wanted to pull the blindfold away from my eyes so badly. I sighed knowing that Carter wouldn't let me.

-

After a long, boring, hour or so minutes of Carter bugging me, he finally pulled the blindfolds off my eyes saying that we're about to land. I squinted trying my best to get used to the bright light. I quickly turned to Carter who was already staring at me with a small smile on his face.

"Where are we?" I was so excited yet apart of me was still hesitant to ask. The moment I asked that question I saw Carter's smile turn into a big grin.

When he looked out the window behind me, I couldn't help but imitate him. The moment I caught a glimpse of the statue of Madam Liberty herself, I gasped so loud in sure all of Africa heard.

I couldn't take my eyes off of her and all of the beautiful, tall buildings behind her. My excitement just reached another level once my mind register on exactly where we were.

I felt Carter push my hair off to my right shoulder before placing a kiss on my neck. I couldn't help the shiver that followed.

''Welcome to New York, Baby." With a final kiss on my neck he whispered.

As soon as we landed, we quickly entered a car which I'm sure Carter arranged. I simply couldn't take my eyes off the city around me. I loved observing every single thing about each new place I went to. To be exact we were driving through Manhattan at the very moment.

It a very hustling place. I've only seen it in movies. Everyone had somewhere they needed to be. I watched how people pushed their way through the crowded side walks, how many many men and women in suits multi-tasked by using their phones and basically running to get to where they needed to be.

Everybody seemed to have their own unique, anomalous story and that's what intrigued me about New York.

"I'm starting to think you'll be ignoring me for the whole trip now," Carter playfully began. I finally dragged my eyes away from the busy streets, giving him my full attention.

"Well you brought me to New York of all places of course all my attention will be on the big city," I grinned.

"I'll make sure not to make that mistake again," He reassured me making me roll my eyes.

"Oh hush up," I sighed turning back to look out the window."I'm feeling a bit sad that I've been missing out on such a beautiful city."

"Don't worry, I'll make this trip worth your while, I'll make sure that you'll remember this trip forever."

"I'm sure I won't ever forget this trip," My cheeks were burning from how much I was grinning. "Ever." I whispered softly, mostly to myself.

"Neither will I," He smiled looking down at me, making my heart skip a few beats.

Before another blink, he quickly turned to the driver and gave a slight nod. The driver nodded back politely and began to focus on taking us to our destination.

"So? Where are we going?" I asked eagerly.

"You'll see." Was the only thing he answered.

"Well can't you at least give me a clue? Not even a little one?"

"Nope," Despite my begging he still refused to tell me where the hell we were going. After fifteen minutes of trying and failing miserably, I huffed and turned towards the car window, clearly annoyed with him.

I could feel him staring and chuckling at me, but I chose to ignore him for the rest of the ride. Ha! Two can play at this game. I've been in this car for nearly and hour and a half. God! Just when I was about to scream out of boredom, the car suddenly halted.

"C'mon baby, we're here." Carter announced, before getting out of the car. I've never felt relived to hear these words in my entire life. I quickly tried to open my side door as well but it was locked?

"You know I'm perfectly capable of opening the door by myself," I rolled my eyes once I realised it was Carter who locked my door.

"Now I wouldn't be a gentleman if I let you do everything by yourself now, would I?" He didn't waste anytime giving me his answer. He pulled my small hand to rest in his strong one before we began walking.

It took everything within me to lift my eyes off our entwined hands and make sure I don't walk into a pole or something.

Once my eyes registered on where exactly we were, I couldn't control the squeal from slipping out from my lips.

'Luna Park'

The number of times I had to beg my parents to bring me here is inhuman. But of course as always they never did. I've made plans last year to come here with Chloe and Tyler before we went to collage.

"We're in Coney Island?" Even though I knew the answer, I still asked.

"Indeed we are. A little birdy told me you've always wanted to come here." He grinned.

"Let me guess, Grandma." I chuckled when he nodded.

"C'mon let's go I heard the queues last for days," With my hand in his we silently made our way to the entrance.
