CHAPTER 28

"Who's next?" Ivy said. She was thirsty for blood. She needed more.

Harley's vision started to blur. She could barley lift her head up. "She's ๐™ข๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™š." Ivy claimed. "You should know better then to touch what's mine." She looked at CatWoman almost ready to tear her heart out.

"Lucy?!" Cobblepot held her body in his arms.

"Y.. you monster!!" He yelled.

Monster... the word that struck Ivy the most "monster". Those words were only spoken by the people who feared her. Hated her. She made it her goal to punish those who said it. She tried to ignore it but as time passed it got to her. As she was about to make a move she remembered Harley. That had to be her first priority. She turned to Harley who was almost completely passed out. "Give her to me." She demanded. She took Harley in her arms placing her head against her chest.

"I do have one question, how did this happen?" Ivy asked.

"It must've been that lousy no good doctor. You'll pay for this! I won't let you off the hook that easily. Every bounty in the city will be looking for you, miss Isley!" Cobblepot exclaimed.

"We'll see about that!" Ivy disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"Lucy..." He mumbled. "We have to kill her! But how do we kill a vampire?" Cobblepot looked at CatWoman with desperation in his eyes.

"Shh.. it takes time, we have to be patient. We can't just kill her. She has to suffer... Just as I did."

.....

"You'll be okay, I promise." Ivy said as she gathered all of the things she stole from a hospital. They were stuck in a barn for the time being. Somewhere far and away from everthing and everyone. She needed the figure out her life. How could she survive as a vampire? She didn't want to be an immortal. She didn't want to live off of blood. She didn't want to live forever but she also didn't want to die. She wanted to be happy. She wanted to know more about herself. But most of all she wanted Harley.

She struggled to take her mind off of it.

"I have more important things to deal with." She stood near Harley and tilted her head gazing at her. "Like you." She whispered.

She took in a deep breath inhaling the scent of ส™สŸแดแดแด…. Suddendly that seemed like a revolting word. Really the meaning... Something thats natural, or disgusting. But now... Now she craved the ส™สŸแดแดแด…. She wanted it so badly. She hated it. But she also needed it. Before she could notice she was biting her lip once more. Again her fangs were showing as she stared at Harley's neck. Her body seemed so lifeless. So peaceful. Her breathing was so calm. Her pulse was slow. It was beating through Ivy's mind. She could hear it all. The crickets in the wet grass. The bushes rumbling as the wind hit it so slightly. The birds chirping as they woke up to the sunrise.

"I just need a little bit. Just a little bit. That's all." She smiled like a crazy person as she slowly convinced herself. "Just one bite."
